PONDER on THIS Special Message for Sunday, February 17th, 2008 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“Life is full of miracles, and if we could just acknowledge the ones we already have, we would surely be given more. Actually, we would just see more of what was already there. People change as they begin to notice things around them. It’s as if they are waking up from a culturally-induced sleep, or trance. Our intellects are always ready to engage external stimulus; it’s how we experience and learn from our world. The problem is that, today, most of our external stimulus is garbage that does us no good, and induces a form of cultural hypnosis, or “social hypnosis,” in the words of Deepak Chopra.

Our brains are so busy with advertising, television, radio, work, the Internet, and all sorts of useless, non-stop chatter that we spend hardly any of our waking hours listening to the forces within us through which we know God. This is perhaps the greatest tragedy that could befall a species that is obviously so capable of awareness. There is hope, however. We can awaken from our sleep and discover that the fear was indeed a dream – or a nightmare, as the case may be.”
