PONDER on THIS for Friday, October 10th, 2008 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“Praying for three minutes at bedtime doesn’t undo an entire day’s worth of negativity, but it is a good start. Praying for three minutes at the end of a day of positive thinking and acting, however, is even better. Every moment of thought adds to some future moment; and you have the freedom and ability to choose what thought you will contribute to your future reality. Learn how to use this tremendous power – and then use it. Your whole life will change for the better.

If you are not religious, don’t worry; praying doesn’t require you to start acting like an evangelist, or a “Bible-thumper,” or any of the things that may have turned you away from church. You don’t even have to be a Christian or believe in the Bible in order to pray and be heard. I realize that may sound controversial; but Jesus wasn’t preaching the Bible – and He wasn’t a Christian. The Bible you know didn’t exist then; and the people He taught already had a set of their own beliefs and religious texts – the same belief systems Jesus grew up with.

Jesus was teaching techniques for effective thinking and living – new ways of looking at and THINKING about those teachings which were ancient even in the time of Jesus. Jesus was teaching ways to make old teachings produce new fruit – simply by changing the way you think about those teachings.”
