PONDER on THIS for Monday, October 27th, 2008 by Sonia Choquette in TRUE BALANCE

"The next time you have a discussion with someone who is difficult to talk to or with whom you have a difficult time agreeing, gently place your hand over your heart as you speak and as you listen. As you do so, hold the intention to speak and listen with an open heart and a nonjudgmental desire to connect and understand in a positive way. This technique is a cue to both your subconscious mind and your body to remain balanced, calm, receptive, and interested in hearing what the other person is saying to you. It will strengthen and improve your communication and indicate to the person you are speaking with that you are willing to value their point of view. This is usually all it takes to overcome impasses in communication."
