PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 by Sonia Choquette in TRUE BALANCE

"Saying something hateful or unkind does get back to you - if not directly...then energetically. We must not underestimate the power of our words. Throwing mean-spirited words into the world about anyone is a spiritual assault. In keeping with the rule "what goes around comes around," your words will come back to you. Count on it.

Respect the old adage, "If you cannot say anything nice, better say nothing at all." To that, I'd like to add, "If you wouldn't say it directly to a person, don't say it at all." Though this is nearly impossible to follow, as we all love to gossip, it is worth striving for. Another, more livable directive is to follow the Zen precept, "Say what you can live with."
