PONDER on THIS for Thursday, June 23rd, 2011 by Terry Cole-Whittaker in LIVE YOUR BLISS

“The idea that God is angry and must be pacified by means of blood sacrifice and violence against others came from the teachings of Zoroaster, an ancient prophet and religious poet from Babylon. His teachings about an angry, vengeful, and cruel God found their way into Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, polluting the pure message about divine love and our holy nature. This cruel concept of God, and the idea that violence is God’s plan for humanity, has drive, and is still driving, people to commit atrocities against others and justify genocide for the sake of money, power, sex, sensual pleasures, and domination.

Any religion that teaches hatred of others, that says some are chosen and others are not, that says one body type is superior to another, or says that people must war against and destroy anyone who is not of their faith is false. It creates hell on earth instead of heaven.”
