“Each of us has a built-in
mechanism which is designed to guide us toward perfect responses to all
events and experiences in our lives. I call this the PERFECT RESPONSE
MECHANISM (PRM). It is the mechanism that is brilliant enough to digest
food and take nutrients to the cells in order to support the life of the
organism. It is the mechanism that enables a fielder to race to where a
baseball will be hit, before he can have any conscious mind knowledge
of where the ball is going.

This mechanism can respond to an
infinite number of stimuli instantaneously and simultaneously, if we
allow the stimuli to reach the mechanism unimpeded. Every time the
conscious mind intervenes in any way to evaluate, analyze, or think
about the stimulus, the PRM cannot do its job perfectly. It is akin to
having a calculator available and doing all our calculations without
it.”
