Special PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, March 18th, 2014 – PONDERCENTRAL.COM 15 year Anniversary!

15 years ago today “Ponder on This” began as a non-automated email subscription service. The concept originated after a conversation with my friend Betty Hoeffner. During our talk I mentioned that some of the inspirational emails she was forwarding seemed to be awfully cliche. I recall she responded coyly by saying something to the effect of, “Okay Mr. Smarty Pants, if you think you can do better then why don’t you?” This gave me food for thought, so I figured, ‘Why not, I’ve got more than a hundred spiritual growth books on the shelf?”

The key “To Do” items were to first find a name for the service, and most importantly, to connect with people who would be interested in the content. With respect to the former, while walking through a Borders bookstore one day I saw a booked called “Ponder on This” by Alice Bailey, and I knew in that instance that was right moniker. Next, I had another conversation with Betty, who agreed to pass on the email addresses of roughly 25 people to whom she had been forwarding inspirational messages (some are still on the list!).

So, if not for the nudge I received from Betty Hoeffner, “Ponder on This” would never have come into existence. As such, if you have found value in these messages (for days, weeks, months, and even years), please visit the website of Betty’s Anti-Bullying not-for-profit organization, HeyUgly.org (her life’s passion), and consider making a donation of any amount you feel inspired to share. Also, please take a few minutes out today to listen to a new song related to bullying that is performed by HeyUgly’s national spokesperson, Devyn Rush (a former American Idol contestant with great talent). It truly is a beautiful song. Thanks.

PS: As a reminder, the nav-bar on the Pondercentral blog site includes a “Category” list that makes it easy to search messages by subject matter (e.g., abundance, forgiveness, attachment, etc.). Therefore, if you are looking for a particular type of content, consider using Pondercentral as an information resource.
