BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, October 18th, 2019 by Alan Cohen in WHY YOUR LIFE SUCKS…AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT

“Have all the stuff you want as long as you are enjoying it. If it starts to run your life, either get rid of it or get rid of your attachment to it. Most people who collect a lot of stuff get to the point where they just want to dump it and simplify their life. They would rather travel lightly and enjoy the ride than drag a cumbersome load. Take an inventory of all of your stuff and ask yourself which items uplift you and which weigh you down. Then let go of everything that doesn’t make you feel good. You can’t afford it. Then you will be left with what truly belongs to you and you will enjoy every moment of it.

If you are not secure now, you never will be. Security has nothing to do with insurance policies, alarm systems, or wedding vows. It is entirely about attitude. If you are secure in who you are, no outer event can remove your well-being. If you are insecure, any passing event, however wispy, can unravel your peace.”
