“How do you tell what energy is yours and what is others’? Often you cannot tell until you “wear” their energy. For instance, when you live with a person, and he feels strongly about a moral issue, you may find yourself taking the same view. Then, when you separate, you discover that you feel differently about that issue. You have “worn” someone else’s beliefs for a while. Frequently you cannot know if a desire is yours or not until you try it. You may discover that you love to think that way, or you may discover that you do not.

From time to time in the process of growth, you will bring other people’s energy into your life; you will try living by their rules, principles and values to discover if they are yours. You may choose to keep those that agree with you. It will be your challenge to let go of those that do not. Do not feel guilty if you find yourself rejecting another’s views or beliefs, even when those beliefs seem to be very moral or fit with what people call “right.” Only you can know what is right for yourself. It is the same with all energy you perceive in the universe; if it does not work for you then you do not need to keep it.”
