“Most group beliefs are based on various interpretations of the Bible, where Christian churches are concerned (each religion has their own foundational documents), and the Bible has some catch-all’s in it that put all such new rules to a test that they can not withstand. “Judge not…,” for instance, doesn’t say, “Try not to judge, unless you see someone who is clearly different from you, then it’s acceptable to ostracize them.” It is really quite simple, everyone is different and it is human nature to think that they are different from you, and not that you are different from them.”
