PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 by Donald Altman in THE MINDFULNESS CODE

“When we lost our connection to the body, we lose one of our most important capacities for mindfulness. Right now, raise both of your arms out to your side. Close your eyes, and bring your arms slowly together until your palms touch. How were you able to know where your body was in space with your eyes closed? We possess a natural sense knows as proprioception, which is the ability to inwardly perceive the body’s spatial orientation in movement, moment by moment. Although you may largely live in your head, you can always return home to the body, the vital sense of being with which you took your first breath.”
