BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, June 8th, 2018 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“If you want something, ask for it. If you truly think you are an unworthy wretch, you probably won’t bother asking for what you want; which is an excellent way to ensure that you won’t receive it. The very same thoughts you construct and entertain to garner some sort of mercy, pity, or kindness, from God, are the thoughts that will keep you from believing that your prayer has already been answered. These are the thoughts you must mindfully banish if you wish to fill your life with divine abundance.

There is no room in the light for darkness of any kind – self-pity and self-loathing included. Calling yourself a sinner is – by definition – a sin. You are judging God’s creation as less than perfect and this demonstrates only fear and a lack of true understanding – a lack of gratitude and appreciation for what God has done and given you. In other words, you have clearly “missed the mark.”
