BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 by Asara Lovejoy in THE ONE COMMAND

“We all agreed to be born, and to be infants. We all agreed to be affected and programmed by our early childhood; every one of us has had this experience of our humanness. Yet we seem to identify ourselves as uniquely having this experience.

Our experience of the time we were children seems to be our unique suffering, or our unique experience of joy, or our unique experience of limitation, or our unique experience of physical challenge, or whatever is a unique experience to you. Because of this sense of uniqueness, we seem to think that we are separate from everyone else – that we have identified ourselves as the stories of our experience as our identities.

When we forget that our identity is more than those experiences, we become caught in the struggle of living. We become caught in the struggle of “working” our way through life rather than in the pleasure and enjoyment of living. It was shown to me that life is not a lesson, but rather a…learning. A lesson connotes judgment, and a pass-or-fail grade, while learning is an ongoing experience. We are here for the learning.”
