BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, September 10th, 2020 by Suzanne Scurlock-Durana in FULL BODY PRESENCE

“We get into trouble with one another when we expect others to act as we would and then take it personally when they don’t. Instead of viewing others with our expectations and judgments, we expand our perceptual lens. Think about limiting beliefs you may have been raised with around such issues as lateness, affection, being polite versus telling the truth, etc. Notice what you assume about the other person when they don’t act they way you expect them to. Can you expand your perceptual lens and include a world where being on time is different from the way you were raised? Can you include another person’s reality and walk in their shoes? If you are the person who is chronically late, can you walk in the shoes of the person you are keeping waiting?”

Suzanne Scurlock-Durana, in “Full Body Presence”
