BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 by Stuart Wilde

“For many, life is a constant search for an elusive quality we call security—we seek in our relationships, lumbering our partners and our children with our silent disquiet. Projecting our desire for security upon them—making them the custodian of our hopes and dreams. We attempt to achieve it by accumulating assets and money. We imagine that if we jog around like demented idiots with handfuls of vitamins and a strange concoction splashing away in our stomachs we’ll live forever.

Most die still trying desperately to achieve security—clutching their insurance policies, pensions, endowments, nest eggs, annuities and whatever other devices they may have accumulated and overpaid for as they went along.

We are all in the arms of the Second Law of Thermodynamics that requires atoms to entropy and die. Once you really understand that you can finally move toward safety. It’s our karma. There is no point in resisting.

In the end there is only one way you can ever become secure and that is to agree to let go and stop trying desperately to hold on. Instead, embrace life and live it and allow yourself to become vulnerable. Simultaneously, put your trust and love in the God Force. There is no other way. Get it quick and your life becomes a celebration of the gift of life and you will feel happy and secure in your vulnerability and you will be a lot less stressed out and a lot more loving to others. You will live longer than you might trying for security the other way.”
