PONDER on THIS for Monday, January 22nd, 2024 by William Murtha in CREATE YOUR OWN LIFE STORY

“What could you do to begin treating yourself with more compassion? How and where can you encourage the habit of of no longer comparing yourself to others all the time? What needs to shift in your mind so that you never tell yourself you’re not good enough, thin enough, or worthy enough? When will you finally give yourself space and time to put your oxygen mask on, before you suffocate beneath the heavy load of self-induced expectations?

Self-care isn’t just foamy baths, spa days away, sports trips, or mini-breaks in the sun with friends. Neither is taking your card for a day out to the shopping mall. It’s not something self-indulgent, but rather about treating yourself as you would probably treat your closest and dearest friends. With self-love, you will no longer constantly berate yourself when you fall over and fail. Self-compassion is often the simple act of talking to yourself in a loving and gentle way.
