BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 by Stephen Russell in BAREFOOT DOCTOR’S GUIDE TO THE TAO

“Doubting is what you do when you question the choice or choices you made that got you into the position in which you currently find yourself. Obviously, this is a complete waste of your energetic resources. The situation, pleasant or otherwise, in which you currently find yourself, or if you like, the one into which your Tao has delivered you, is according to the immutable law of appropriateness, exactly the right one for you at the moment. Thus all choices made by your former selves that got you here must, by extension, have been correct.

In other words, trust yourself. Trust yourself at all times, whatever the mess you seem to have generated around you, and then trust yourself some more. It’s the only sensible thing to do. You make your choices and consequences arise, which you turn to your advantage wherever possible, while helping others as you go.

Trust is the only antidote to doubt. This means trusting your own innate wisdom and therefore the path you”re on (your own personal Tao).”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, September 1st, 2010 by Gloria Wendroff in HEAVENLETTERS

“Selfishness comes from fear. You see limits, and the limits set the tone for you. I have told you not to sacrifice, and I repeat it. Now We will go a step further. Sacrifice is an untruth. We have a common meaning for sacrifice, and it is to give up a possession you hold dear or even your life. On another level, sacrifice does not exist because nothing can be given up. Because you give something precious to another, does not mean you lose it. Loss it not possible. The idea of loss certainly is, however, and you are well-acquainted with it.

And so we come to your mind, your logical mind that adds and subtracts. Your mind does not flow like your heart. Your mind calculates. But a heart flows. You sacrifice your heart when you block its flow. That is the loss of innocence.

Give only where your heart wants to give, but do not block the flow of your loving heart or contribute to the block of another’s. A cramped heart is blocked. An unwilling heart is blocked. Hearts have to be unblocked.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in REAL MAGIC

“You are the creator of your emotions. They originate with your thoughts. Those emotional reactions are actually physical in nature. Whatever emotions you are choosing with your thoughts will take up residence in your body. This is a most important understanding to have for yourself.

Once you know without doubt that you are the one who is choosing your fears, anxiety levels, phobias, ecstasy levels and so on, then you can also be the one to create whatever miracle you want for yourself in this world of your emotions. You may not know precisely how you choose to create the toxic molecules that show up in your emotional world. However, simply acknowledging that you do sets in motion the physiological changes you desire.

An old Indian saying expresses these ideas well: “If you want to know what your thoughts were like yesterday, look at your body today. If you want to know what your body will be like tomorrow, look at your thoughts today.” Emotions show up in your body as physical manifestations of your thoughts.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, August 30th, 2010 by Terry Cole-Whittaker in LIVE YOUR BLISS

“Recognize that the way we are treating others is the way we are treating ourselves because what we give out is what we will get back. Cruelty to others, including animals and the earth, is a symptom of an unhappy person hurting from self-alienation because somewhere in her past she was abused, ridiculed, and subjected to pain when she was too small or weak to protect herself or get away.

Notice how many cartoons, video games, and movies are about killing, maiming, or forcing people into submission, as if such actions are a game and something to enjoy. Mistreating others, including animals and the earth, is indefensible and a symptom of violence programming.

Sooner or later, everything we have wished to happen to others, and what we have done to others, will happen to us, for this is how the immutable law of karma, the great leveler, works. If you catch yourself laughing at someone’s misfortune, stop and ask yourself, “What is this about?” Having fun at the expense of others will backfire.”

What kind of messenger are you? Are you a messenger of gossip and lies? Do you feel comfortable with all the lies, with all the gossip, with all the drama that comes as a result of believing in lies? Is that what you share with everyone around you? Is that what you teach your children? Do you still blame your parents for your troubles? Remember, they did the best they could. If your parents abused you, it wasn’t personal. It was due to their own fears; it was due to what they believed? If they abused you, it’s because they were also abused. If they hurt you, it’s because they were also hurt. It’s an ongoing chain of action-reaction. Are you going to continue being a part of that chain, or is it over with you?”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, August 26th, 2010 by Karol K. Truman in FEELINGS BURIED ALIVE NEVER DIE

“Do you ever ask yourself the question, “Why isn’t my life going the way I want it to?” Are you experiencing desired results? If the answer is “no,” it could be due to your earliest programming…If you desire better results on a day-to-day basis, it is necessary to realize that “you create your own reality.” Some of you may have heard this before, others may not. So, you might ask, “What do you mean by, I create my own reality?”

On a subconscious level you create your own reality with your feelings and thoughts regardless of when, where or how they were established!…your very earliest feelings determine your beliefs. And in turn, your beliefs determine your thoughts. Your thoughts are seeds and you plant them in very fertile soil (feelings) that has been prepared from conception and infancy. When you plant your seeds (thoughts), you nourish (water) them by continually holding onto the thought with deep intensity. When a thought (seed) and a feeling (soil) are harbored, germination takes place and an energy is naturally released into the forces of creation. An emotion is created and the synergy of what has been created grows a crop. It creates your reality – is the cause of your effect – whether that that crop is good or bad, desirable or undesirable.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, August 25th, 2010 by Neale Donald Walsch in CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD, BOOK 3

“The people of every country think I condone the war they are fighting, and condemn the war that their opponent is fighting. The people of every nation believe they have God on their side. Every cause assumes the same thing. Indeed, every person feels the same thing – or at least hopes it’s true whenever any decision or choice is made.

And do you know why all creatures believe God is on their side? Because I am. And all creatures have an intuitive knowing of this. This is just another way of saying, “Your will for you is My will for you.” And that is just another way of saying, I have given you all free will.

There is no free will if to exercise it in certain ways produces punishment. That makes a mockery of free will and renders it counterfeit.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 by Alan Cohen in WHY YOUR LIFE SUCKS AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT

“Attention is energy. Whatever you feed it to, will grow. Attention is intention. Whatever you think and talk about paves the runway for what you will create. When you pay attention to things you want to happen, you increase the chances of them happening; the same dynamic applies for the things you do not want to happen…

Every thought is a prayer, and worry is prayer in reverse. Calling attention to wrong-doings only increases their likelihood of happening again. Once you know what is wrong, mobilize all of your energy toward the solution. Problems are what you see when you take your eye off the goal. To pray effectively, keep your mind and vision on the end result you choose. Don’t undermine yourself by being fascinated with the problem. Be fascinated with the solution.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, August 23rd, by Sanaya Roman in SPIRITUAL GROWTH, BEING YOUR HIGHER SELF

“If you are feeling a negative emotion about something, ask your Higher Self what guidance you need to hear to make things work more smoothly in this area. Every negative emotion signals you that there is a message from your Higher Self you need to pay attention to. When you hear the message, you can take the actions your Higher Self is guiding you to take and change the situation that is causing you turmoil.

If you feel a negative emotion, stop and ask your Higher Self, “What is the message?” “What do I need to look at in my life or do differently?” Learn to pay attention to the slightest feelings of irritability, resentment, or negativity. Is there any area you consistently have negative feelings about? Stop for a moment and ask for a message on this area.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, August 20th, 2010 by Laura Alden Kamm in INTUITIVE WELLNESS

“Blame, criticism, and comparing your life to someone else’s are derivatives of judgment. Let them go…Forgive. Better yet, invoke your sacred power and one of its virtues, such as courage, and walk your path with dignity and integrity. This will increase your energy and your ability to heal. Negative and fearful thoughts can cause your body’s energy to become stagnant.

Holding in anger and or jealousy can be like holding your breath. It creates suffering and body failure. An energy leak can also develop and act like a busted water pipe hidden within a wall. You actually lose the precious vital energy force from your body; when that happens, you might as well slice off a section of your body, your self-esteem, and be less than your potential. But that is not what you are here to do.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, August 19th, 2010 by Richard Carlson in DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF

“One of the mistakes many of us make is that we feel sorry for ourselves, or for others, thinking that life should be fair, or that someday it will be. It’s not and it won’t. When we make this mistake we tend to spend a lot of time wallowing and/or complaining about what’s wrong with life. We commiserate with others, discussing the injustices of life. “It’s not fair,” we complain, not realizing that, perhaps, it was never intended to be.

One of the nice things about surrendering to the fact that life isn’t fair is that it keeps us from feeling sorry for ourselves by encouraging us to do the very best we can with what we have. We know it’s not “life’s job” to make everything perfect, it’s our own challenge. Surrendering to this fact also keeps us from feeling sorry for others because we are reminded that everyone is dealt a different hand, and everyone has unique strengths and challenges.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 by Joseph Murphy in THE AMAZING LAWS OF COSMIC MIND POWER

“Everyone has faith in something. Some have faith in failure, sickness, accidents, and misfortune. When you hear exhortations to have faith, you must remember that you already have faith. The question is, how are you using it – constructively or negatively?

Our mental attitudes and beliefs, which represent our faith, make our own heaven and hell. What is your faith? The noblest, grandest, and highest faith is that which is based on eternal principles which never change. Have faith in the creative law of your own mind, in the goodness of God and in all things good, a joyous expectancy of the best, and a firm belief inscribed in your heart that Infinite Intelligence will lead you out of your difficulty and show you the way. Have a firm conviction in the power of God to solve your problems and to heal you. Have faith in the invisible intelligence within you, which created you and is all-powerful, and which enables you to walk over the waters of fear, doubt, worry, and imaginary dangers of all kinds.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 by Stuart Wilde in WHISPERING WINDS OF CHANGE

“Have you ever wondered why the media constantly bathes us in fear? What is the point of it? Are we supposed to enjoy it? Is it news? Does it help us to know how many people got shot today? In Australia they report car wrecks almost every night. I don’t mean fifty-car pile-ups on the freeway, which might qualify as news. I mean little wrecks – a truck hits a car and wipes out a granny, and her pet Chihuahua – that kind of stuff? Why? What’s the function of it? Could it be that someone somewhere has a vested interest in keeping people on the edge? Of course they do…

You should defend your mind from the negative waves that come from the collective insecurity of the world. It’s not compulsory to buy into it. You can detach and see it for what it is…

If you let people constantly push your buttons, you lose control of your personal rocket. The mass neurosis robs you of the natural godlike joy and happiness that is your heritage.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, August 16th, 2010 by William L. Murtha in DYING FOR A CHANGE

Will Murtha: So letting my thoughts run amok in my life is actually bad for my health?

Voice of Higher Presence: Yes. Your mental, emotional and physiological states all suffer when your thinking takes you over. If you constantly live in your head and deny those other parts of self that need attending to, you will very quickly find your life draining away. And another point: This behavior also blocks the portal that injects you with creative energy from the divine source. Stay imprisoned in your mind for long periods, and you will very quickly discover that you are obscuring your creativity and inspiration.

Will Murtha: Why is this?

Voice of Higher Presence: Divine inspiration and creativity are the pure essence energy of the divine. This is the life-force energy that wants to break through into the physical world. But it cannot become real if there is something blocking its path.

Will Murtha: So, our constant thinking is standing in the way then?

Voice of Higher Presence: More than standing in the way. Your incessant thinking is obliterating any chance that divine source inspiration has to manifest itself in the world of reality.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, August 13th, 2010 by Chérie Carter-Scott in IF LIFE IS A GAME, THESE ARE THE RULES

“One of the most common human fears is scarcity. Many people are afraid of not having enough of whatever it is they need or want, and so they are always striving to get to some point in the future when they finally have enough. They fool themselves into believing that one day they will have everything “all set” – they will have all the money they need, all the possessions they desire, all the love they carve, all the success they strive for. But is anything ever really enough? Did anyone ever really arrive “there”?

Abundance means that all things are possible and that there is more than enough of everything for everyone, right here and now. As you shift your focus from some point in the future to the present, you are able to fully see the riches and gifts you already have, and thus learn the lesson of abundance.”
