BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, June 6th, 2022 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED

“One way to develop your open-mindedness is to begin to observe yourself as you are in the process of being exposed to new concepts. To do this, you essentially take the role of a witness to the process, as well as being an active participant within it. While it may sound somewhat difficult to do, its really not. All that’s required is for you to actively pay attention to what you are reading and hearing, and then acknowledge your judgments one-by-one as they crop up.

When you learn to witness yourself in this way, you develop the skill to be able to immediately recognize when you are judging, and then in that moment remind yourself to remain open-minded. As you begin working on developing your witnessing skills, simply do your best to remain patient with yourself when you’re finding it difficult to remain open-minded, and remember that practice makes perfect.”
