BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020 by Alan Cohen in THE DRAGON DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE

“If we are to truly change the world, we must give it new thoughts to be manifested – thoughts of the world as we would like to see it. We must fill our minds and hearts with ideas and feelings of harmony and celebration. Once person quietly sitting for a few minutes a day meditating or praying for world peace has an effect on the world greater than those who angrily protest and criticize those how make war. Someone who runs down the street cursing those who fight is in effect sending out a set of vibrations that bring about only more war. As it is said, “Don’t curse the darkness – light a candle.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020 by William L. Murtha in DYING FOR A CHANGE

Will Murtha: What goes around comes around, as my mother always says. Is that what you mean by karma?

Voice of Higher Presence: Be careful, because there are several interpretations of the word “karma.” If you are referring to it only in the context that bad things bounce back to you, then be careful, for that is not truly correct. A closer meaning of the word “karma” could best be described with the expression, “As within, so without.”

Will Murtha: Or what’s within us reflects outside of us?

Voice of Higher Presence: And that includes everything, not just the so-called bad life situations that show up. It includes what you would perceive as good ones, too. In reality, there are no bad life situations being mirrored back to you. Even those events that you would view as bad are actually leading you back home to the truth. They are helping to mirror back to you situations that contain vital life lessons – lessons that enable you to find out who you are and what you want.

Try to think about those seemingly desperate situations from the past that have appeared from nowhere into your life. Try to remember how you initially felt about them when they showed up. You were apprehensive and anxious. You may have been fraught with worry and stress. Then think ahead. Try to recapture what every situation actually ended up teaching you about yourself. You will be shocked to discover that every single one brought with it the gift of a lesson – a valuable life lesson about the path that you say you want to go on.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, June 1st, 2020 by Paul Rademacher in A SPIRITUAL HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE UNIVERSE

The Devil Within – One way to creatively approach the issue of evil is to recognize…that we carry a pantheon of personalities within us. Some of these, we’re quite proud of. Others, we would rather die than reveal. It’s these hidden portions, oddly enough, that hold the greatest potential for wholeness…Once these rejected parts are not only recovered, but allowed to speak their message, then tremendous amounts of energy are released. One can then proceed in a direction of purpose and passion.

The danger of fascination with the devil, however, is that the rejected personalities, which are an inner phenomenon, get projected onto the outer world. Once this happens, we become unconscious of the traits within ourselves. Attributing them to Satan’s influence is a convenient way of making sure they remain separate from us. If we can admit, however, that the very things we condemn in others are part of our own psyches, then the world can become our teacher. When someone enrages us beyond all reason, we can begin to ask creative questions:

“What aspect of my personality is this person mirroring for me?”
“Is this person reminding me of an experience I wish to forget?”
“When have I felt this before?”
“Is there an issue haunting me that I’m unaware of?”

“In every moment, through every thought, word, and deed, you engage in karma (action). Every action has an affect, not only upon yourself, but also the entire universe. Your actions do not stop with the boundary of your skin. They affect everyone. Every positive or negative thought, word, or deed contributes to either positive or negative vibrations in the universe. Every action has consequences for everyone and everything. Your subconscious mind is the repository of every piece of karma you create. Throughout your life, a memory bank, filled with every experience, gets stored in your subconscious mind. Those memories establish habit patterns. You habitually act in certain ways, because you were taught to act that way by parents, role models, and society.

Your patterns create a “mental law”—a set of rules that you have accepted over time. Your mental law may consist of many statutes, such as, “I am always prosperous,” or “I am not very popular,” or “I am beautiful,” or “I am fat.” Your “mental law” could not exist without the karmic law, which states that every thought, word, and deed has consequences. You are responsible for creating every action, and your mental law, or set of mental beliefs, manifests every one of your experiences. These might be so-called “rewards” for your so-called “good deeds,” or so-called “punishments” for your so-called “sins.” Both rewards and punishments are solely your creations, magnetized by your own set of beliefs.”

“Loyalty does not mean slavery. You can be faithful to any organization and devote yourself to its tasks with honesty and integrity without having to become its servant. The most important person in the world, to whom you should be unswervingly loyal, is yourself. You only have one life, and to let some business, or other institution, control it is particularly foolish, when you consider that so many more alternatives are available. Loyalty is misused when people are given less importance than profits, and when the human spirit is sacrificed for the name of good old “Anything, Inc.”…

Any executive who can’t leave his desk doesn’t belong behind the desk at all. But you are the executive of your own life, and you can actively plan to use your own time in ways that are loyal to your chosen institutions, but which also lead to your happiness, health, and most important, fulfillment.”

“Your life is not made up of what happens to you. Your life is made up of your light and your shining of it. This is not effort. This is letting go of effort which often wants to determine a particular outcome. But you are not so concerned with outcomes, for you are a shiner of light.

How does light shine? It just shines. It’s not afraid to. It does not rely on what other makes of it. Light is light, and it is made of itself. You reflect your light. You are reflecting it now as you read this. Your light permeates through all of existence. It radiates to the furthermost star, for you are a star-echoer. What else can a star do but shine?”

“If you only had to take a few minutes and try some simple techniques which have been documented for thousands of years as having amazing potential, in order to achieve any desire you could possibly imagine, wouldn’t you want to know about that? Wouldn’t you want someone to give you that super-power, if they could? Well, you already have it. No one can take it from you, but they can program you to forget how to access it; and this is exactly what culture does via mass consciousness. You can’t keep pieces in a machine if the pieces are all aware that they have the same power as the machine – especially if the pieces don’t like the way the machine works!

You have as much power as anyone, or anything; you need only realize this and unlock your hidden power. There are no special abilities or requirements one must possess before accessing this power, for “He maketh his sun rise on the evil and the good.” One need only accept their birthright; it is earned at birth and learned through use. There is no such thing as not being good enough, or not being worthy. We are all creators; and this is our power.”

“At least once a year I have a psychic checkup, and at my last visit my psychic doctor gave me a wonderful game to play when I get into those negative loops. It’s called, the “Wouldn’t It Be Wonderful?” game and it goes like this: When you find yourself stuck, looping around and around a problem, ask yourself, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if…” Then play around with some fabulous, even outlandish scenarios. For example…wouldn’t it be wonderful if Jews, Muslims, and Christians in the Middle East all laid down their weapons and began to live in peace with one another? Wow, my imagination really goes wild with that possibility!

When you play this game you’ll notice it not only benefits your mind, but your whole body starts to relax as you engage all kinds of fun and amazing possibilities. It is especially good for your adrenal glands, which produce three major classes of hormones that are essential for your day-to-day ability to handle stress…So next time you wake up in the middle of the night with anxieties and worries, remember to turn on your light by asking yourself, Wouldn’t it be wonderful if…?”

“Your experience of life at this moment is what your life is all about. The present moment is all you have; it is your gateway to manifesting your destiny in life. Your experience in the present moment determines the quality of your life. The present moment is all you have to work with to align yourself with infinite love, light, creativity, possibility, receptivity, harmony, beauty, abundance and perfection of the universe. This moment allows you to discover the true essence of your soul and higher self, fulfill your life’s purpose, and awaken to the presence of the god and goddess within your being.

Your past is gone. You’ve already walked that journey. You have two choices: you can either use your past to learn more about the truth of yourself and your life as you go forward, or you can go forward carrying regret, pain and suffering from your past mistakes. Mistakes are there for you to learn the lessons of your life, not to punish yourself. Your soul wants you to learn from your mistakes, not carry them like a huge burden on your journey. So many of us choose to carry the wounds and pain of the past, unaware that in order to heal our emotional wounds we must let go of our past mistakes.

The emotional wounds from our past adversely affect our energy field, our mental, emotional and physical states, and our life experiences. The pain we harbor now will create many more painful experiences in our lives. Covering up our pain will devastate our soul, our well-being and our happiness in life.”

Voice of Higher Presence: In the past, you have constantly walked away from the opportunities to go into your painful emotions. You have denied listening to your innermost feelings because you were afraid of what they would show you. What I am saying is that this practice has not served you well. It has only served to make the emotion of your inner pain more intense. Please remember that nothing can be healed if it does not come into the light. And by denying your emotions, you are blocking off any chance you had of developing as a person.

Will Murtha: I can see now where I have gone wrong. But, one thing, didn’t my behavior at least allow me some time to reassess my situation? Didn’t containing my destructive emotions at least allow me to bide my time?

Voice of Higher Presence: This would only be a correct statement if trapped emotions were not destructive to the body. If all denied emotion was harmless, then you would not have a problem. But, of course, this is far from the case. You may naively imagine that you are controlling your denied emotions with chemicals, but that is not true. What is actually happening under the surface is that your negative, unexpressed emotions are eating into your energy system. They are infecting your whole system with a toxic poison that is substantially more destructive to you and your body than any chemical substance. Just because emotions cannot be seen does not mean that they are not at work. They are, in more ways than you realize. They are slowly altering your DNA, which ultimately leads to breakdowns in your immune system.”

“You may be in a circumstance where you feel you have no control, but every circumstance is external, and every state of being is internal. No matter what is happening external to you, you still have ultimate choice over how you choose to “be” concerning it. We have gotten ourselves under the illusion that we can’t control how we feel about something and therefore how we choose to be. This illusion stems from our prior history were we made so many of our choices automatically that when we faced a similar situation, we once again automatically chose the same state of being. It may be automatic but it is still a choice.

When this happens, the illusion tells us that it looks like what other people or circumstances are doing is making us respond the way we do. Nothing, no person, place, or thing is making you do anything. When you do something it is because you choose to do it because of your state of being. The key is to choose the state of being consciously when confronted with exterior experiences, instead of automatically going to a state of being that has been programmed into you by your memory.”

“It’s fairly common for people to go through their lives with someone to blame: “My Jewish guilt,” or “My parents,” Or “Society made me do it.” There are any number of conditions as to why your life didn’t turn out the way you intended it to. My whole philosophy has always been that there is no way to change anything in the world if you don’t have the capacity to change yourself. Therefore, if you’re not satisfied with the way the world is, or if you think the world can be better, you have to figure out a way to know yourself and better yourself. Then you have the assurance that something in the world has improved.”

“There is an effective way to pray, and if you use it, you will no longer be dependent on others to tell you how or what to think. You will have “access to all knowledge” and the answers to all questions. Also, if you use effective prayer techniques, you will no longer be dependent on others for your survival, or enrichment. So, why pray? Well, to get what you want out of this existence would be one good reason. To see yourself for what you truly are and to experience God without having to jump through a world of hoops held by other people with no more right to live freely and fully than you have. You are a powerful creation of God; and prayer can unlock your powers.”

“An indescribable richness awaits each of us. Yet it is not something we can attain by a frantic search for security. It doesn’t lie in distant and exotic lands. It’s as close as your next thought. That thought requires a conscious decision to turn away from fear – away from viewing the world as a dangerous place that we must hammer into submission.

It means letting go of our preconceptions about what should be, so we can embrace the wonder of our next breath and realize, in that breath, the magnificence of our own creation – which extends beyond the physical world and touches dimensions beyond imagination.”

“The art of developing self-discipline and patience is like many other pursuits: Your progress will be equal to your practice. And as a component of personal spiritual development, it is an art you alone must take responsibility for as you move toward enlightenment and liberation. Being committed to your path and your intuitive wisdom will create the space in which discipline can occur. It is an obvious result. When you see the subtle benefits of this making a difference in your life, you will become more disciplined in setting aside some time for your spiritual practice.

You might find that laziness sometimes gets in the way of your desire to be disciplined and achieve your goals. When you are lazy, you are in effect not committed to yourself and you doubt your ability to do whatever task you would like to accomplish. Laziness can also lead to complaining, speaking ill of others, or putting blame where it does not belong. Complaining and blaming others actually displaces doubts about your abilities and a lack of commitment to yourself onto an external source. Pull those thought forms back inside and be accountable to yourself.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, May 14th, 2020 by Patricia Aburdene in MEGATRENDS 2010

“Spirituality is today’s greatest megatrend, but where is it taking us? What’s the future of our compelling interest in all things spiritual? To discover the answer, we must first clear up a common misunderstanding. Most of us harbor the belief – reinforced in the media – that a passion for the “inner life” takes us away from the world, rendering us self-obsessed, if not downright selfish. Well, the truth is: It does. But only at first. During the journey’s initial introspective chapter, many instinctively withdraw from the daily grind of modern life. Why? Because, seekers grow more sensitive and too much stress will overwhelm the fresh, emerging spiritual consciousness.

Often we detach in order to heal: As we fill with Spirit, we release a lot of old emotional baggage, find peace, discover a new inner voice – and that requires a fair amount of energy…But later the spiral path of Spirit takes a different turn and we plunge into an exciting new phase: our return to the world. Now regenerated, we come back to society and service…The miracle of spiritual healing strengthens and energizes us. Millions of people, long-time meditators, for example…may have spent a decade or more healing negative patterns. They – or should I say we? – have soaked up so much spiritual energy that we are transformed. Sure, we will still face plenty of new challenges, but for this life, we’re basically cooked: We will not go back to “life before Spirit.” We are chock full of Spirit and consciousness. We’ve hit critical mass. Now what would the Divine do with all that consciousness? Put it to work!”
