“In the olden days, the idea was that individuals were too weak and sinful to have a meaningful dialogue with God. So, systems were developed whereby people had to use a third party to communicate with God. Once you had a third party, then all the rules, guilt, and obligations came into play. Now we have a system where there are millions of people on the earth plane who believe that the God Force is within them and they are spiritually free, while others still believe they are weak and that God is outside of them, so they need someone to intercede on their behalf.

It doesn’t mean that you can’t be part of a church if you want to be. But control is a very old-fashioned idea, so it had better be a liberal church. Some people enjoy the camaraderie, the friendship, the music, the hymns and the hers, they like begin taught by a knowledgeable holy man or woman. Fair enough – if that’s what you’re into. But the thing to remember is that most of these systems are NOT designed to set you free.”

“Thoughts are like bubbles in the sea – you you may cup your hands and hold some underwater, but eventually they rise to the surface. Practices such as counting your breaths or reciting a particular prayer or mantra create a moment-to-moment concentration on one idea to the exclusion of others. But if your attention wavers for an instant, the thoughts rise to the surface. Positive thinking strategies are, like methods for quieting the mind, based on wishful thinking rather than on a realistic understanding. You don’t have to control your thoughts; you just have to stop letting them control you.

There is another, more radical to the problem of the mind: LET IT BE. Make peace with and accept it as it is. No need to fix or quiet it or do anything else about it. The mind is like a barking dog. You don’t have to get rid of the dog. After all, dogs naturally bark. Focus instead on directing your attention to what you are doing and let the dog bark. Let your thoughts be whatever they are, positive or negative, and get on with life. Learn self-compassion; make peace with your mind.”

“People are often consumed, or driven, by a goal, destination, or an outcome. This is the proverbial finish line many are trying to reach. Unfortunately, when life becomes centered on a destination, thing, or an accomplishment, it ceases to be life – at least in any meaningful sense. We are often so focused on a particular outcome that we are blinded to all else – especially repercussions of that outcome. A small child focuses on bouncing a ball off the outside of a house to the exclusion of any thoughts of a broken window, or any consequences that may follow, for instance.

Likewise, scientists strive to complete a project that will produce a new weapon, or some other potentially lethal device, with little thought given to the day after their project is complete. They focus on a “successful” outcome, or on an arbitrary completion date, but spend little time considering life on a planet where such horrible devices exist!”
