BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, November 9th, 2015 by Sanaya Roman in PERSONAL POWER THROUGH AWARENESS

“Why do you allow yourself to be in situations throughout the day, even minor ones with store clerks, customers, or telephone calls, in which you are made to feel depreciated? It is because of a belief many of you picked up from your culture that you do not have the right to choose whom you are around. You may feel you owe your time and energy to others, or that you are obligated to give them attention if they want to be a part of your life.

Some of you believe you must be loving, supportive, and caring to everyone. Loving someone does not mean making their feelings more important than your own. If you study the lives of highly evolved beings, you will see that there are many ways to be loving to others, including being blunt and not tolerating petty behavior, although speaking bluntly is done with compassion and love.

Being committed to your higher purpose and loving to yourself is the first priority. In your day-to-day contacts, know that you do not owe anyone your time or energy. They are the greatest gifts you have been given, and how you use them will determine how much you will evolve in this lifetime.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, November 6th, 2015 by Richard Carlson in DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF

“So many of us live our lives as if the secret purpose is to somehow get everything done. We stay up late, get up early, avoid having fun, and keep our loved ones waiting. Sadly, I’ve seen many people who put off their loved ones so long that the loved ones lose interest in maintaining the relationship. I used to do this myself. Often, we convince ourselves that our obsession with our “to-do” list is only temporary – that once we get through the list, we’ll be calm, relaxed, and happy. But in reality, this rarely happens. As items are checked off, new ones simply replace them

The nature of your “in-basket” is that it’s MEANT to have completed in it – it’s not meant to be empty. There will always be phone calls that need to be made, projects to complete, and work to be done. In fact, it can be argued that a full “in-basket” is essential for success. It means your time is in demand!

Regardless of who you are or what you do, however, remember that NOTHING is more important than your own sense of happiness and inner peace and that of your loved ones. If you’re obsessed with getting everything done, you’ll never have a sense of well-being! In reality, almost everything can wait. Very little in our work lives truly falls into the “emergency” category. If you stay focused on your work, it will all get done in due time.”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, November 5th, 2015 by Polly Campbell in HOW TO LIVE AN AWESOME LIFE

“Some of the most awesome experiences in our lives come when we connect with others, and especially when we allow them to touch us. Think about a first kiss, or seeing a birth, or walking down the aisle, or watching your daughter graduate. Think about moving into your first house, or buying your first car. Or remember hiking over a ridge at sunset, or taking that first sip of morning coffee. Moments like these shape a life. And while we each have our own take on the world and a unique experience within it, this stuff is also universal.

We approach our lives with our own original flair, but we come together as part of this human experience. That means we all experiences loss and joy, fear and disappointment. We have all been there. And for that reason alone, everyone is worthy of our kindness and compassion.

When you can, take a moment to connect to someone’s pain, or smile when they’ve treated you poorly. If you can reach out with empathy and understanding instead of berating them for bad behavior, you are engaging in life at the fullest level. In those moments, you can remind us all about how awesome it is to be human.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 by Dr. Stephen Russell in BAREFOOT DOCTOR’S GUIDE TO THE TAO

“The orthodox slant on investment policy is to invest only to make gains. The way of the contemporary urban warrior, by contrast, is to invest in loss. This is not to suggest the warrior is a sucker. Simply that, rather than invest your energy for a return in momentary gain, you invest in decreasing your self image.

The more you increase your self-image, i.e., the “myth” of who you are, what you do, what you own and what you want, the more unwieldy you become. By carrying that psycho-emotional junk in your traveling trunk, you lose mobility, flexibility, and adaptability, and therefore freedom.

When you invest in the loss of they myth of who you are, you reduce the load, thereby reducing wind-drag coefficient. This makes it easier for you to move freely from adventure to adventure and increases your chances of being in the right place at the right time for reality to work its full quota of magic on your behalf.”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015 by Tess Whitehurst in HOLISTIC ENERGY MAGIC

“You’ve heard it a million times, but it bears repeating: we all make mistakes – all of us. And while guilt can sometimes be a natural side effect of a mistake, especially when we perceive that mistake to have negatively affected another in some way, it never helps to hold onto it…The truth is, once something has happened, it’s what happened. While of course asking for forgiveness and making amends is often a wise and appropriate thing to do, incessantly regretting what happened is fighting against the truth, and you will always lose that fight. It’s just a waste of energy, and it holds you back from being the best you in the present moment that you can possibly be. So for everyone’s sake, let yourself off the hook and let go!”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, November 2nd, 2015 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in REAL MAGIC

“Spiritual beings do not order their lives to be “against’ anything. They are not against starvation, they are for feeding the people and seeing that everyone in the world is nutritionally satisfied. They work on what they are for, rather than fighting what they are against.

When you fight evil employing the methods of hatred and violence, you are part of the hatred and violence of evil itself, despite the rightness of your position in your own mind. If all the people in the world who are against terrorism and war were to shift their perspective to supporting and working for peace, terrorism and war would be eliminated. For every dollar we spend on peace, we spend two thousand on war.

Somehow our priorities are turned inside out. Spiritual beings do not get tied up with hatred. They are focused thoughtfully on what they are for and they translate that into action. Spiritual beings keep their thoughts on love and harmony, in the face of things they would love to see changed. ALL THAT YOU FIGHT WEAKENS YOU. All that you are for EMPOWERS you. In order to manifest miracles you must be totally focused on what you are for. Real Magic occurs in your life when you have eliminated the hatred that is in your life, even the hatred that you have against hatred.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, October 30th, 2015 by Neale Donald Walsch in THE NEW REVELATIONS

“There is not a country and there is not a group of people on Earth that imagines itself to be an aggressor. Everyone who enters into war does so saying that they are defending something.

Do you see this now? I am making a repeated point of this because it is something you need to look at very closely. On your planet there are no “attackers”, only defenders. You achieve this interesting paradox by simply calling all attack a defense. In this way you are able to change your basic values from moment to moment as it suits you, without seeming to change them at all.

You get to kill people with impunity to obtain what you want by simply saying that you had no choice. You had to defend yourself.  All attackers see their actions in this way. Indeed, you have seen your own attacks on others exactly this way. Not just in war, but in every situation of conflict in your life, from battlefields to bedrooms, command centers to boardrooms. Nobody attacks, everybody defends.”

“Thoughts are, most assuredly, things. They are conceived in the mind and they travel through time and space like ripples in a pond, affecting all that they touch. Thoughts are the building blocks of our experience; the world that we see is the one that we have created with our thoughts. Edgar Cayce said, “Mind is the builder.” We think a thought, attach a feeling to it, and a circumstance in our life is attracted to it. If we want to see how got to be where we are in life, we need only to trace our experience back to our thoughts.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, October 28th, 2015 by Eckhart Tolle in THE POWER OF NOW

“As there are no problems in the NOW, there is no illness either. The belief in a label that someone attaches to your condition keeps the condition in place, empowers it, and makes it a seemingly solid reality out of a temporary imbalance. It gives it not only reality and solidity but also a continuity in time that it did not have before.

By focusing on this instant and refraining from labeling it mentally, illness is reduced to one of several of these factors: physical pain, weakness, discomfort, or disability. THAT is what you surrender to – now. You do not surrender to the idea of “illness”. Allow the suffering to force you into the present moment, into a state of intense conscious presence. Use it for enlightenment.”

“When you contemplate the purpose of your life in the material plane, you will discover that the only thing you can do with this life is to give it away. You cannot hang on to anything in a constantly changing universe. You cannot lay claim to anything. It is all transitory. The only part of you that is permanent is the part that is unchanging, and that is the spiritual essence that resides in an unseen dimension. You will find your purpose and your strength when you see that you are in a relationship with all other living things, and that you are purposeful and peaceful when you serve in some capacity.”

“Do you know one sign that you’ve woken up? It’s when you are asking yourself, “Am I crazy, or are all of them crazy?” It really is. Because we are crazy. The whole world is crazy. Certifiable lunatics! The only reason we’re not locked up in an institution is that there are so many of us. So we’re crazy. We’re living on crazy ideas about love, about relationships, about happiness, about joy, about everything. We’re crazy to the point, I’ve come to believe, that if everybody agrees on something, you can be sure it’s wrong!

Every new idea, every great idea, when it first began was in a minority of one. That man called Jesus Christ – minority of one. Everybody was saying something different from what he was saying. The Buddha – minority of one. Everybody was saying something different from what he was saying. I think it was Bertrand Russell who said, “Every great idea starts out as a blasphemy.”

“Look at everything that you think and feel and say and do that you do not like in yourself. Your negative emotions, your defects, your handicaps, your errors, your attachments and neuroses and hang-ups and yes, even your sins. Can you see every one of them as a necessary part of your development, holding out a promise of growth and grace for you and others, that would never have been there except for this thing that you so disliked?

And if you have caused pain and negative feelings to others, were you not at that moment a teacher to them, an instrument that offered them a seed for self-discovery and growth? Can you persist in this observation, in your observation till you see all of this as a happy fault, a necessary sin that brings to much good to you and to the world?”

“Whenever you are in a negative state, there is something in you that wants the negativity, that perceives it as pleasurable, or that believes it will get you what you want. Otherwise, who would want to hang on to negativity, make themselves and other miserable, and create disease in the body? So, whenever there is negativity in you, if you can be aware at that moment that there is something in you that takes pleasure in it or believes it has a useful purpose, you are becoming aware of ego directly. The moment this happens, your identity has shifted from ego to awareness. This means the ego is shrinking and awareness is growing.

If in the midst of negativity you are able to realize “At this moment I am creating suffering for myself” it will be enough to raise you above the limitations of conditioned egoic states and reactions. It will open up infinite possibilities which come to you when there is awareness – other vastly more intelligent ways of dealing with any situation.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 by Alan Cohen in THE DRAGON DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE

“As some persons begin to discover the relationship between thoughts and events, they begin to be afraid of thinking negative thoughts, worrying, “Oh, no! I just had a thought of something bad happening to me – that means I will attract it!” This anxiety comes from an incomplete understanding of how thoughts attract events. There is no need to be concerned about stray thoughts of disaster or failure. They have no power unless we feed them with fear.

We are thinking many, many thoughts per second (Buddha said trillions) and we are also catching the thoughts of those around us. Occasional thoughts of negativity or failure may creep into our consciousness, but if we “throw them off” before we indulge in them, they cannot harm us. It is thought HABITS that count. Continually dwelling on the same thoughts, feelings, and mental pictures begets conditions. Keep your thought PATTERNS positive, and little negativity shall have no power to penetrate your established force field of positivity.”

“No matter where you are, you can always turn on with some kind of warm feeling if you really want to. Turn on as you look out the kitchen window. Turn on as you walk out the door in the morning. Turn on as you slide into your wheelchair. Turn on as you board the subway. Turn on as you sweep the porch. Turn on as you make copies. Turn on as you walk down the fairway. Turn on as you feel the stock.

Until you can find that buzz of joy, or buzz of appreciation, or being in love, or gratitude, even when common sense says you haven’t a thing to be grateful for, you’re not flowing your energy to anywhere you want to go. But if you desire is to blast out into a new life for yourself, then learn to turn on any way you can, no matter what’s happening around you. NO MATTER WHAT!”
