“To effectively get your work out to the world, you will need to learn to detach from what others think of you. It is important not to worry about being liked, appreciated, or understood. Learn to detach from needing praise or validation; others may simply not be aware enough to see the value of what you are doing. Some people feel threatened by new ideas, and they may express skepticism or criticize your work. Learn to detach from people’s reactions and value your work according to your own internal sense of its worth.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, December 6th, 2024 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in YOU’LL SEE IT WHEN YOU BELIEVE IT

“Remember, our days are the precious currency of our life. In effect, how we spend our days is a measure of the quality of our life. When our days are spent in unsatisfying tasks in which we feel ungratified, simply spinning our wheels to pay the bills, we are working to satisfy something outside of ourselves, like our financial obligations. If you choose to satisfy financial debts by doing work you dislike, you are constantly thinking about and centered on what you dislike. In fact, a third of your entire life becomes focused on thoughts which are negative. Since what you focus on expands, you are going to find this negativity enlarging in your life. Your life literally becomes focused on what you dislike. When you are experiencing your daily life doing work which you do not love, you are operating from a scarcity consciousness.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, December 5th, 2024 by Fr. Anthony DeMello in AWARENESS

“Who’s living in you? It’s pretty horrifying when you come to know that. You think you are free, but there probably isn’t a gesture, a thought, an emotion, an attitude, a belief in you that isn’t coming from someone else. Isn’t that horrible? And you don’t know it. Talk about a mechanical life that was stamped into you. You feel pretty strongly about certain things, and you think it is you who are feeling strongly about them, but are you really? It’s going to take a lot of awareness for you to understand that perhaps this thing you call “I” is simply a conglomeration of your past experiences, of your conditioning and programming.

That’s painful. In fact, when you’re beginning to awaken, you experience a great deal of pain. It’s painful to see your illusions being shattered. Everything that you thought you had built up crumbles and that’s painful. That’s what repentance is all about; that’s what waking up is all about.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 by Wayne W. Dyer in THERE’S A SPIRITUAL SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM

“Don’t attempt to fake happiness in the face of sadness. Instead, identify yourself as being aware of sadness as it occurs, then ask yourself if you wish to stay in this emotional state. If the answer is no, then move toward a mental understanding of the sadness by recognizing that feeling sad is the result of how you are choosing to think. Sadness is purely and totally located in your mind; it does not exist in the world.

Once you acknowledge your absolute right to be sad, decide how long you want to stay in that state, understand that it is the result of your thoughts and lowered energy, and then you can let it go. This is accomplished by bringing joyful thoughts into your present moment and watching the sadness fly away.

This little mental technique of being able to acknowledge, understand, and disperse can be accomplished in a few seconds, or you can make it last for weeks if you so choose. The point is that by bringing awareness to sadness while you are feeling it, you give yourself the option of replacing it with joy, which is the spiritual solution to the error of sadness.”

Wayne W. Dyer, in “There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 by John Selby in EXPAND THIS MOMENT

“Here’s the question, what would happen if you actually did love yourself just as you are? Most people seem to be downright afraid of doing this. What is this fear? Beyond the Christian programming that tells us we are born hopeless sinners, there’s something else going on here, and we need to look right into the heart of it.

Many of us seem to be afraid that, if we relax and accept ourselves with all of our shortcomings, we’ll fail to succeed and survive. Here we are again, looking at the fear of death as a driver of our lives. Our society compels us to perpetually try to improve ourselves, and the constant need to achieve is a plague on our society. We all push our kids to be superachievers at the top of the class, even though this means that most of them end up feeling like underachievers. This leads to the loss of self-acceptance, and in turn makes them feel miserable, unworthy, and depressed as adults.

It’s crazy, really, to push children as we do, simply out of fear. The majority of people in our culture feel like failures in life because they didn’t meet the impossible expectations of their parents and teachers.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, December 2nd, 2024 by Stuart Wilde in AFFIRMATIONS

“You are made up of billions of beliefs. Beliefs about your body, beliefs about your intellectual worth, beliefs about how attractive you are. Beliefs about God, sin, life after death, morality, beliefs about the tribe or society you live in, beliefs about your family and what should or should not be done, and so on. Spiritually, these beliefs are part of your evolution, and in a way they are good because they allow you to step beyond them. By dealing with this weakness, bit by bit, you begin to believe in yourself. And so when the tribe says to you, “Throw two oranges into the river to appease the hippopotamus god, or the crops will not grow,” you have the courage to say, “Baloney.” And you go out and buy a bag of fertilizer instead.

Spiritual growth basically means going beyond mass thinking, to a point where you have so much confidence in your reality that you know you can stand alone. In the process, you discover that you are the Living Spirit – eternal, immortal, and infinite – that in fact you are limitless.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, November 29th, 2024 by Stuart Wilde in THE LITTLE MONEY BIBLE

“Because celebrities have so many observers, they seem to exist in a well-defined particle state and thus give the illusion that they are more solid and secure than ordinary folk. They seem very real and larger than life, not in the usual hazy-wave state of other strangers. So they are seen by the millions as special glitzy particles. This helps ordinary people feel that their own energy is higher and safer – because they have bumped into a celeb’ a famoso of extreme particle wonderfulness.

It’s all a bit silly; it’s an illusion. Celebs are not more secure than you are; usually they are very insecure and neurotic – the ones I’ve met anyway. And, of course, no can permanently pick up your energy; you have to raise it yourself. Anyway, there is no high or low, is there? But the idea of importance and specialness excites people, and it sells newspapers and advertising, but it is not real, is it?

The trick is not to fall for all this specialness routine. It’s an ego-trip, and it burns load of energy. Trying to convince people that you are okay, or trying to get them to admire you and see you as special, wastes time. In the end, it will cost you money. Once you establish such a view with others, you’re a big shot and you have to pay for dinner!”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, November 28th, 2024 by John Randolph Price in SUPERBEINGS

“Understand that “spiritual consciousness” does not necessarily refer to one’s religion, but rather to one’s awareness and understanding of his or her true identity. We all know people who are supposedly very “religious” – yet the life they experience on this earth may be more hell than heaven. And to blame any misfortune on God, as if it could possibly be His will, is total ignorance. God’s will for man and all creation is absolute good, and God cannot will or endorse sickness or limitation of any kind.

To develop spiritually does not mean just going to church on Sunday and being “good” to appease an angry god who is keeping score somewhere in the sky. There is no such god! To grow spiritually means the increase of one’s understanding of the true nature of God, man, and the creative laws of the universe.”

“How easily we are taken in by the judgment of other people and then form an image of ourselves based on this judgment. In order to be truly liberated you need to listen to the so-called good and bad things that they tell you, but to feel no emotion at the feedback any more than a computer does when data is fed into it. Because what they say about you reveals more about them than about you.

As a matter of fact you also have to be aware of the judgments that you make about yourself, because even those are generally based on the value systems that you picked up from the people around you. If you judge, condemn, approve; do you ever see reality? If you look at anything through the eye of judgment or approval or condemnation, is that not the major barrier to understanding and observing things as they are in themselves?”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 by Dr. Joseph Murphy in THE POWER OF YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

“Here is a simple technique you can use to receive guidance on any subject: Quiet the mind and still the body. Tell the body to relax; it has to obey you. It has no volition, initiative, or self-conscious intelligence. Your body is an emotional disk which records your beliefs and impressions. Mobilize your attention; focus your thought on the solution to your problem. Try to solve it with your conscious mind. Think how happy you would be about the perfect solution. Sense the feeling you would have if the perfect answer were yours now. Let your mind play with this mood in a relaxed way; then drop off to sleep. When you awaken, and you do not have the answer, get busy about something else. Probably, when you are preoccupied with something else, the answer will come into your mind like toast pops out of a toaster.”

“Every word we speak is saturated with energy that will create or destroy. We are accountable for “every idle word” we speak, for it brings forth after its kind. In a very real way, the word becomes flesh and dwells among us and in us and as us. We cannot help becoming what we say we are. The more resolutely and intensely we speak the word of who and what we are, the more surely we move toward becoming what we say. If we happen to accept the words directed to us by others, if we make their words our own, then we will move in that direction as well.

The words you use reflect your state of consciousness, but they are more than that. They are the very cause of the maintaining of that consciousness. So, if you tell yourself, “You messed up again. You really are worthless,” you are not only affirming your present sense of worth, you are setting the parameters of your worth  for the future: Today’s words become tomorrow’s reality.”

“Everyone wants to feel good, to be of value, to be engaged with life, to feel progress, to learn new things, and to feel love. But many people are looking for love in all the wrong places. When you witness unpleasant behavior in another, it is not so different from seeing someone with a pillow pressed to his or her face, being deprived of air to breathe. The unpleasant behavior is equivalent to him or her flailing about, desperate for life-giving air.

So just remember, when others are behaving aggressively or rudely toward you, they are simply desperate for the alignment of their Vortex. It really is not about you. It is not their threat or seeming power or strength or position that is jeopardizing you life or your happiness. It is only your attention to something that prevents your Vibrational alignment with Source that can diminish your Well-Being – and you have complete control over that.”

“Acceptance simply means that you make a commitment: “Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances, and events as they occur.” This means I will know that THIS MOMENT IS AS IT SHOULD BE, because the whole universe is as it should be. This moment – the one you’re experiencing right now – is the culmination of all the moments you have experienced in the past. This moment is as it is because the entire universe is as it is.

When you struggle against this moment, you’re actually struggling against the entire universe. Instead, you can make the decision that today you will not struggle against the whole universe by struggling against this moment. This means that your acceptance of this moment is total and complete. You accept things as they ARE, not as you wish they were in this moment. This is important to understand. You can WISH for things in the future to be different, but in THIS moment you have to accept things as they are.”

“When left unhealed, the past will destroy our lives. It buries our unique gifts, our creativity, and our talents. And when these parts of ourselves go unclaimed they stagnate inside us: we use them against our world instead of in harmony with it. We think we’re mad at the world, that we want to change the world, that if only the world were different we’d be able to live our dreams. But it’s WE who need to change.

We’re angry at ourselves for not persisting, for not honoring the god force inside us, for not giving ourselves permission to express ourselves as we truly desire. We think we’re mad at our parents for repressing us early in life. Actually we’re angry at ourselves for perpetuating that repression. It’s as if, a long time ago, someone put us in a cage and although the cage hasn’t been there for years we still struggle against its imaginary walls. The cage is our self-imposed limitations, our self-doubt, and our fear. We were taught that it’s hard work to go after our dreams. We may not have understood that it’s even more difficult living day in and day out with the knowledge that we don’t pursue them.”

“Many times we don’t share the truth because we’re afraid it would upset the other person to see how we feel: “I’m feeling claustrophobic,” “I feel ignored,” etc. Negative emotions, however, have a place in intimacy. They need to be revealed in order to be detoxed. Having negative emotions doesn’t make us bad. Thinking that they do is what keeps so many people from exposing their emotions. It is when our feelings – all our feelings – are revealed appropriately and then forgiven that we have a chance to heal. Feelings need to be accepted as they are, before they can transform.”
