“Don’t attempt to fake happiness in the face of sadness. Instead, identify yourself as being aware of sadness as it occurs, then ask yourself if you wish to stay in this emotional state. If the answer is no, then move toward a mental understanding of the sadness by recognizing that feeling sad is the result of how you are choosing to think. Sadness is purely and totally located in your mind; it does not exist in the world.

Once you acknowledge your absolute right to be sad, decide how long you want to stay in that state, understand that it is the result of your thoughts and lowered energy, and then you can let it go. This is accomplished by bringing joyful thoughts into your present moment and watching the sadness fly away.

This little mental technique of being able to acknowledge, understand, and disperse can be accomplished in a few seconds, or you can make it last for weeks if you so choose. The point is that by bringing awareness to sadness while you are feeling it, you give yourself the option of replacing it with joy, which is the spiritual solution to the error of sadness.”

Here we are again, looking at the fear of death as a driver of our lives. Our society compels us to perpetually try to improve ourselves, and the constant need to achieve is a plague on our society. We all push our kids to be superachievers at the top of the class, even though this means that most of them end up feeling like underachievers. This leads to the loss of self-acceptance, and in turn makes them feel miserable, unworthy, and depressed as adults.

“Because celebrities have so many observers, they seem to exist in a well-defined particle state and thus give the illusion that they are more solid and secure than ordinary folk. They seem very real and larger than life, not in the usual hazy-wave state of other strangers. So they are seen by the millions as special glitzy particles. This helps ordinary people feel that their own energy is higher and safer – because they have bumped into a celeb’ a famoso of extreme particle wonderfulness.

It’s all a bit silly; it’s an illusion. Celebs are not more secure than you are; usually they are very insecure and neurotic – the ones I’ve met anyway. And, of course, no can permanently pick up your energy; you have to raise it yourself. Anyway, there is no high or low, is there? But the idea of importance and specialness excites people, and it sells newspapers and advertising, but it is not real, is it?

The trick is not to fall for all this specialness routine. It’s an ego-trip, and it burns load of energy. Trying to convince people that you are okay, or trying to get them to admire you and see you as special, wastes time. In the end, it will cost you money. Once you establish such a view with others, you’re a big shot and you have to pay for dinner!”
