BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, August 5th, 2024 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, in REAL MAGIC

Yes you can create miraculous changes in your life. Yes you have the power within you to manifest what may have seemed impossible only a short time ago. Yes you can know the meaning of real magic in your life. The setting for making this your reality is right there inside you. Get yourself aligned with your purpose.

Discover the joy and peace of giving, not getting; of contributing, not acquiring; of doing, not competing or winning. Why? Because you can’t really GET anything. The message of your life is in what you give. You show up with nothing. You leave with nothing. All you truly can do with this life in form is to give it away. Purpose is always about giving. When you experience giving, serving, loving and promoting harmony you will feel the difference within yourself. Andre Gide summed it up so beautifully in his journal – Complete possession is provided only by giving. All you are unable to give possesses you.”<

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, August 2nd, 2024 by Tony Burroughs in THE LAW OF AGREEMENT

“Our Continuous Comfort Zone (CCZ) will keep us from fulfilling the calling we set for ourselves long, long ago. You see, all of us have projects that we arranged and agreed to do here on Earth, and if we stay in our CCZ too long, we won’t be as apt to do the things we came here to do. Accordingly, the Highest Good will see to it that we are removed from places, relationships, and situations so that we can have something better.

The challenge with this is that we tend to think we want to stay where we are; we’re not always able to see around the corner to a time when things will be better because we left the place we were in. So the Universe will begin to make the places or relationships we’re in go stale or become uncomfortable…These are not the times to allow ourselves to get too attaches to our CCZs. The world is changing so fast that we must be ready to flow and to go where we are most needed. We each have amazing, life-changing experiences awaiting us; however, we cannot expect to avail ourselves of these gifts as long as we stay stuck in our CCZs.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, August 1st, 2024 by Dan Millman in EVERYDAY ENLIGHTENMENT

“Some of us center our lives around other people’s feelings; we try to make them happy. But since you can’t control your feelings, how can you possibly fix the feelings of others? The plain truth is that feeling responsible for someone else’s happiness (or unhappiness) is simply not realistic.

No longer feeling responsible for the feelings of others, you can come to fully accept them rather than react TO them. If you are to accept your own emotions as natural, you need to accept everyone else’s emotions as well. Their emotions, whether calm or stormy, are their affair.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 by Fr. Anthony DeMello in THE WAY TO LOVE

“What is clear thinking and how does one arrive at it? The first thing you must know is that it does not call for any great learning. It is so simple as to be within the reach of a ten-year-old child. What is needed is not learning but unlearning, not talent but courage. You will understand this if you think of a little child in the arms of an old, disfigured housemaid. The child is too young to have picked up the prejudices of its elders. So when it snuggles in that woman’s arms, it is responding not to labels in its head; labels like white woman, black woman, ugly, pretty, old, young, mother, servant maid, it is responding not to labels such as these, but to reality.

That woman meets the child’s need for love and that is the reality the child responds to, not the woman’s name and figure and religion and race and sect. Those are totally and absolutely irrelevant. The child has as yet no beliefs and no prejudices. This is the environment within which clear thinking can occur. And to achieve it one must drop everything one has learned and achieve the mind of the child that is innocent of past experiences and programming which so cloud our way of looking at reality.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 by J.M. DeBord in DREAMS 1-2-3

“If you do forget a dream, don’t fret: Dreams repeat themselves, displaying the same scenario a thousand different ways if necessary. In my experience, the dreaming mind is eager to get to work whenever I am, but the motor might take a few cranks to get started. If at first you don’t succeed, keep trying.

If you draw a blank when you first wake up, pay close attention to your feelings, which can give clues to what you dreamed. Allow your imagination to fill in gaps; your intuition and feelings know what happened in a dream even if it can’t be recalled. Also, flashes of dream memory can be remembered at any time during the day. A simple act like sitting down to type at your computer or getting your usual cup of coffee in the break room can trigger a new detail of your dream to surface.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, July 29, 2024 by Jack Kornfield in A PATH WITH HEART

“Spiritual maturity allows us, like bamboo, to move in the wind, to respond to the world with our understanding and our hearts, to respect the changing circumstances around us. The spiritually mature person has learned the great arts of staying present and letting go. Their flexibility understands that there in not just one way of practice or one fine spiritual tradition, but there are many ways. It understands that spiritual life is not about adopting any one particular philosophy or set of beliefs or teachings, that it is not a cause for taking a stand in opposition to someone else or something else. It is an easiness of heart that understands that all of the spiritual vehicles are rafts to cross the stream to freedom.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, July 26th, 2024 by Mark Nepo in THE BOOK OF AWAKENING

“It seems that any moment of interest or pain or adversity can surprise us into the larger totality of life, breaking our current limits and allowing us the chance to redefine ourselves in regard to the larger sense that is upon us. That we are opened – so suddenly, so often – is the way the soul unfolds on Earth.

We can never be prepared for everything. No one person can anticipate all of life. In fact, overpreparation is yet another way to wall ourselves in from life. Rather, we can only prepare for how we might respond to the gift of surprise that often moves in on us faster than our reflex to resist.

Life is surprising, thank God, and God, the chance to know Oneness, lives in surprise. For God is seldom in our plans, but always in the unexpected.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 25th, 2024 by M. Scott Peck, M.D. in THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED and BEYOND

“Another painful burden that comes with increased consciousness and competence is the loneliness of transcending traditional culture. Throughout the ages, only a  few among millions have obviously risen above the rigid culture and simplistic thinking of their times. Now as a result of mass communications, psychotherapy, and grace, I would estimate that there are hundreds of thousands of adults in our country who are on this cutting edge.

These individuals think well enough to challenge conventional and irrational thinking. They question blind national and tribal loyalties – and the limitations imposed by their culture – in order to grow. They no longer believe everything they read in the newspapers. They seek truth and challenge the illusions about “normalcy” as promoted by society and the mass media. They show the courage to no longer be sucked into the simplistic thinking around them. They have redefined “family” to include not only blood relatives but the meaningful relations they establish with others who share common interests and a common – and growth oriented – approach to life.”

“Do not wait for other people to respect you or treat you in a more positive way. They will not until you treat yourself with respect. You do not have to be around people who do not honor you, respect you or treat you well. If you do find yourself around those kinds of people, act with dignity and remember that they are not respecting you because they do not respect themselves. Others only take advantage of you and take you for granted if you let them.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024 by Megan Don in MEDITATIONS WITH TERESA OF AVILA

“Many people today are confused about their spiritual purpose here on earth. Many feel impatient to begin what they perceive to be their destined work, but Teresa warns about “going out ahead of time.” We can damage both ourselves and others she said, if we do not wait for the Beloved’s direction. It is the Beloved who chooses what is required of us and when this will occur; we will not discover our work by thinking about it. As Teresa said, it is our job to love much and not think much…It is not what we do, but how we do it, that matters, said Teresa. Each of us has a designated role to play on this earth, and when we enter into true harmony with our own being, this special place will be revealed to us. Be patient and know that “she who receives more, serves more.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, July 22nd, 2024 by Eckhart Tolle in THE POWER OF NOW

“True salvation is a state of freedom – from fear, from suffering, from a perceived state of lack and insufficiency and therefore from all wanting, needing, grasping, and clinging. It is freedom from compulsive thinking, from negativity, and above all from past and future as a psychological need. Your mind is telling you that you cannot get there from here. Something needs to happen, or you need to become this or that before you can be free and fulfilled. It is saying, in fact, that you need time – that you need to find, sort out, do, achieve, acquire, become, or understand something before you can be free or complete.

You see time as the means to salvation, whereas in truth it is the greatest obstacle to salvation. You think that you can’t get there from where you and who you are at this moment because you are not yet complete or good enough, but the truth is that here and now is the only point from where you CAN get there. You “get” there by realizing that you ARE there already.”

“Telling someone something that you like, admire, or appreciate about them is a “random act of kindness.” It takes almost no effort (once you get used to it), yet it pays enormous dividends. Many people spend their entire lifetimes wishing that other people would acknowledge them. They feel this especially about their parents, spouses, children, and friends. But even compliments from strangers feel good if they are genuine. Letting someone know how you feel about them also feels good to the person offering the compliment. It’s a gesture of loving kindness. It means that your thoughts are geared toward what’s right with someone. And when your thoughts are geared in a positive direction, your feelings are peaceful.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 18th 2024 by Debbie Ford in THE DARK SIDE OF THE LIGHT CHASERS

“When you don’t recognize your full potential you don’t allow the universe to give you your divine gifts. Your soul yearns to realize its full potential. Only YOU can allow this to happen. You can choose to open your heart and embrace all of yourself, or you can choose to live with the illusion of who you are today. And forgiveness is the most important step on this path to self-love.

We must see ourselves with the innocence of a child, and accept our misdeeds and misgivings with love and compassion. We have to set aside our harsh judgments and come to terms with the mistakes we’ve made. We must know that we’re worthy of forgiveness. This divine gift teaches us that part of being human is making mistakes.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 17th, 2024 by Stuart Wilde in AFFIRMATIONS

“So often we let life bump us off course. We set out on a path, and almost instantly our emotions distract us, or something happens and we drift off course. If you want things out of life, you will have to concentrate on them, and you have to go for what you want regardless of your current situation. If you concentrate on your goal and do not get distracted, you place an additional force at your disposal. For the power of will allows you to be moved into the right place at the right time. If you do not know what you want in life, you express that uncertainty into the Universal Law. And it – being impartial – expresses back to you the same feeling. The result is that nothing flows, and all your attempts to materialize your dreams fade or break up.

If you do not know what you truly want, then the best move is to begin to clear out all those things that you know you definitely no longer want – debilitating relationships, unhelpful habits, lack of action, and imbalance of one kind or another. Sooner or later what you want will become clear, and then you can head toward it. The Path of Power calls for a certain aggression, as does nature. The animal in the forest goes for what it wants, and in doing so it expends energy in getting its needs met. You should adopt the same style. Lock on to what you want, go for it no matter how long it takes, and you will have added concentration to your battery of techniques for self-improvement.”

“Sometimes you head out the door not having a clue as to why you’re hurrying so fast, or dawdling so fiercely. Why would it possibly matter that you are on the road at 1:11 instead of 1:16? How does it make any difference that you’re stopping at a coffee shop, or a bookstore, or a car wash? Such is the nature of Divine convergence; the way in which the Divine places us, pushes us, prods us to be in the right place at the right time.

What is convergence? In earth reality, a coming together from different directions. In Universal reality, what happens when you find yourself in one place, and the other person finds him or herself in the exact same place, at the exact same time. It might not be another person, either. It might be an animal, or an idea, or a thought, or an experience. It might be the words of on the page of the book we suddenly reached for, without knowing why, high upon the shelf. And the answer we had been looking for all day was finally found in those words. We accept these convergences all the time.”
