Ponder on THIS for Monday, February 22nd, 2010 by Justine Toms in SMALL PLEASURES, FINDING GRACE IN A CHAOTIC WORLD

“Take a moment to access your inner voice. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Hold that breath for a second or two, then release it with a sigh. Do this several times. Ask yourself the question, “What does my heart want to tell me right now?” Pause and let a few words float up from your heart. Try not to edit or to judge them. Turn off your inner critic and let your heart write. Write down these words, and take ten or fifteen minutes to expand on what your heart has told you. Then spend a few more minutes reflecting on what you’ve written. Pay special attention in the coming week to the ways listening deeply to your inner voice helps you.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, February 19th, 2010 by Wayne W. Dyer in THERE’S A SPIRITUAL SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM

“I find that people who experience a great deal of injury and illness in their lives appear to enjoy continuously telling everyone about their maladies. When these people begin to tell me how proud they are of their maladies, I respond with indifference to the sickness itself. “You don’t have to live with this pain,” I suggest. “You are stronger than any disease.” I do not give the injury any credibility.

I treat my family and myself in this way as well. I have long noticed that in our family we rarely talk about being tired, not feeling well, or feeling something “coming on.” My wife and I have just naturally sent our children messages that they are more powerful than any disease process. In other words we want out love to be more associated with health, strength, and spiritual consciousness, than with being sick, tired, or injured.”

Wayne W. Dyer, in “There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, February 18th, 2010 by Terry Cole-Whittaker in LIVE YOUR BLISS

“Blame is the refusal to accept responsibility for our actions, for our feelings, and for whatever is happening in our life. We look for the guilty party, the one who did this to us, who upset us, who made us mad, who prevented our success, who disappointed us, who broke her promise, who ruined our life. We make this person (or group) the cause of our problems; we are the innocent bystander, the good soul who was taken advantage of. But it is certain that, if we were there we had something to do with what happened.

The first name at the top of the list is God’s. “How could God do this to me?” we may ask. “After all, I pray and am a good person.” The key to liberation and power is to understand that we have free will, and not even God interferes with our choices; not even God tells us what to think, feel or want. By the basic law of life – cause and effect – whatever we set in motion by our conscious thoughts, feelings, desires, and actions will take form in the people, places, things, and circumstances surrounding us…

Once we recognize that something that has happened is a mirror that reflects back to us a lesson we need to learn, and stop blaming others, including ourselves, we can get the lesson and be grateful for it and to those who played their part.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, February 17th, 2010 by Joseph Murphy in THE AMAZING LAWS OF COSMIC MIND POWER

“People are constantly asking, “How can I get ahead in life, improve my circumstances, get a raise in salary, buy a new car and a new home, and have all the money I need in order to do what I have to do when I want to do it?”

The answer to all of these questions comes through learning to use the laws of your own mind: the law of cause and effect, the law of increase, and the law of attraction; these laws of your mind work with the same precision and exactitude as do the laws of physics, chemistry, and mathematics – and as definitely as the law of gravitation…

Prosperity means to increase our capacities and abilities along all lines and in every direction so that we release our inner powers. The promotion, the money, and the contacts you wish to make are the images or likenesses, as well as the physical forms of the states of mind which produce them.”

“Every thought you send out creates events in the universe, attracts people to you. Even more than that, every thought you send out is creating the transformation of the planet. You may not feel that one person can have that much effect on the overall energy of the planet, and yet one high, healing thought can cancel out 10,000 or more negative ones. The higher the healing thought, the more lower ones that get canceled. It is not just yourself you are helping when you evolve your thoughts, but everyone around you. You do not even have to know them personally or be physically around them. Healing, positive thoughts go out into your neighborhood and your community and help everyone who is reaching upward.”

“Every single soul on earth contributes to the whole. Every blade of grass. Every inch of life is important. Every bit of life is holy. You, too, no matter what you may think about it.

Life is something to be in awe of. Love Me and be reverent towards life. Do not put life down. Do not drag it and disparage it. If life is a gift, and you do not see its gifts, then how can you be grateful?

I ask you to be grateful for what I have wrought. I have wrought with your participation. I did not surprise you. You were not foisted on earth. You were not hurtled here. You were not picked up and dropped. You were placed here, and you chose the spot. You cooperated. Cooperate now. Get on with it.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, February 12th, 2010 by Misa Hopkins in THE ROOT OF ALL HEALING

“If you try, the word itself implies putting in effort without guaranteeing success. Trying, though commonly stated in regard to healing oneself, is really a waste of energy. Why try at all if you are willing to accept any outcome? Here is what is likely to happen if you decided to try. Initially you might begin to heal and as the healing requires more clarity of focus, diligence and belief, you get tired and give up. Or if you aren’t seeing results fast enough you give up. Or you begin to doubt that it is really working. In any case, because try implies your efforts might or might not work, your healing progress slides and your worst fears are confirmed. Whatever you were doing didn’t work. Now you can tell yourself, “I tried, but it didn’t work.”

Remember Yoda’s instructions to Luke in Star Wars when he was learning how to levitate objects. When Yoda instructed Luke to levitate his ship out of the water, Luke told Yoda he would try to do it. Yoda instructed him, “Do, or do not. There is no try.” Whether you are levitating your space ship or healing your body, the same principle applies. These aren’t just inspiring words from a good movie script. These are words for life…When it comes to healing, trying is a waste of your energy. If you want to heal, commit your mind, body and heart to making that outcome a reality, and do.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, February 11th, 2010 by Stuart Wilde in INFINITE SELF

“If you currently have a concept of God outside of yourself, then mentally bring God home – allow its enormous power back into your heart. And even though you may not necessarily feel the infinity of the God Force within you as yet, at least you can imagine it there – visualize it there. This idea doesn’t transcend any beliefs. You can still be a good Christian and believe in Jesus Christ, but believe in a Christ energy inside you rather than outside you. An intellectual concept of God outside you dis-empowers you, because what you are saying is, “I don’t have a command of my destiny.” This means that you don’t believe you can create energy and make a difference.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 by Neale Donald Walsch in CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD, BOOK 2

“This is difficult to hear, but I tell you this: There is perfection in everything. Strive to see the perfection…Need nothing. Desire everything. Choose what shows up. Feel your feelings. Cry your cries. Laugh your laughs. Honor your truth. Yet when all the emotion is done, be still and know that I am God.

In other words, in the midst of the greatest tragedy, see the glory of the process…Now this sounds like an impossible thing to do. Yet when you move into God consciousness, you can do it. You don’t have to do it, of course. It depends on how you wish to experience the moment.

In a moment of great tragedy, the challenge always is to quiet the mind and move deep within the soul. You automatically do this when you have no control over it.”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 by Justine Toms in SMALL PLEASURES, FINDING GRACE IN A CHAOTIC WORLD

“When you find yourself feeling doubts about your ability to attain your goal, take a moment to remember a time when you have enjoyed a great accomplishment. It is more effective if it is something that you accomplished not only mentally, but physically as well. The body has a phenomenal memory. In fact, some say it has a greater memory than the mind. When you’re uncertain, let your mind take you back to your triumphant moment again, and feel it in your body with as much detail as you can. Recall the smells, colors, sounds, feelings, and surroundings.

As you sink into this most pleasant memory, allow it to resonate in you once more as if it were happening for you in the present moment. Let the exhilaration of your success stay with you as you turn yet again to the task at hand. This meditation will be of enormous support for you in actualizing your goal.”

“If we are to truly change the world, we must give it new thoughts to be manifested – thoughts of the world as we would like to see it. We must fill our minds and hearts with ideas and feelings of harmony and celebration. Once person quietly sitting for a few minutes a day meditating or praying for world peace has an effect on the world greater than those who angrily protest and criticize those how make war. Someone who runs down the street cursing those who fight is in effect sending out a set of vibrations that bring about only more war. As it is said, “Don’t curse the darkness – light a candle.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, February 5th, 2010 by William L. Murtha in DYING FOR A CHANGE

Will Murtha: What goes around comes around, as my mother always says. Is that what you mean by karma?

Voice of Higher Presence: Be careful, because there are several interpretations of the word “karma.” If you are referring to it only in the context that bad things bounce back to you, then be careful, for that is not truly correct. A closer meaning of the word “karma” could best be described with the expression, “As within, so without.”

Will Murtha: Or what’s within us reflects outside of us?

Voice of Higher Presence: And that includes everything, not just the so-called bad life situations that show up. It includes what you would perceive as good ones, too. In reality, there are no bad life situations being mirrored back to you. Even those events that you would view as bad are actually leading you back home to the truth. They are helping to mirror back to you situations that contain vital life lessons – lessons that enable you to find out who you are and what you want.

Try to think about those seemingly desperate situations from the past that have appeared from nowhere into your life. Try to remember how you initially felt about them when they showed up. You were apprehensive and anxious. You may have been fraught with worry and stress. Then think ahead. Try to recapture what every situation actually ended up teaching you about yourself. You will be shocked to discover that every single one brought with it the gift of a lesson – a valuable life lesson about the path that you say you want to go on.”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, February 4th, 2010 by Paul Rademacher in A SPIRITUAL HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE UNIVERSE

The Devil Within – One way to creatively approach the issue of evil is to recognize…that we carry a pantheon of personalities within us. Some of these, we’re quite proud of. Others, we would rather die than reveal. It’s these hidden portions, oddly enough, that hold the greatest potential for wholeness…Once these rejected parts are not only recovered, but allowed to speak their message, then tremendous amounts of energy are released. One can then proceed in a direction of purpose and passion.

The danger of fascination with the devil, however, is that the rejected personalities, which are an inner phenomenon, get projected onto the outer world. Once this happens, we become unconscious of the traits within ourselves. Attributing them to Satan’s influence is a convenient way of making sure they remain separate from us. If we can admit, however, that the very things we condemn in others are part of our own psyches, then the world can become our teacher. When someone enrages us beyond all reason, we can begin to ask creative questions:

“What aspect of my personality is this person mirroring for me?”
“Is this person reminding me of an experience I wish to forget?”
“When have I felt this before?”
“Is there an issue haunting me that I’m unaware of?”

Paul Rademacher, in “A Spiritual Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 by Susan Shumsky in ASCENSION

“In every moment, through every thought, word, and deed, you engage in karma (action). Every action has an affect, not only upon yourself, but also the entire universe. Your actions do not stop with the boundary of your skin. They affect everyone. Every positive or negative thought, word, or deed contributes to either positive or negative vibrations in the universe. Every action has consequences for everyone and everything. Your subconscious mind is the repository of every piece of karma you create. Throughout your life, a memory bank, filled with every experience, gets stored in your subconscious mind. Those memories establish habit patterns. You habitually act in certain ways, because you were taught to act that way by parents, role models, and society.

Your patterns create a “mental law”—a set of rules that you have accepted over time. Your mental law may consist of many statutes, such as, “I am always prosperous,” or “I am not very popular,” or “I am beautiful,” or “I am fat.” Your “mental law” could not exist without the karmic law, which states that every thought, word, and deed has consequences. You are responsible for creating every action, and your mental law, or set of mental beliefs, manifests every one of your experiences. These might be so-called “rewards” for your so-called “good deeds,” or so-called “punishments” for your so-called “sins.” Both rewards and punishments are solely your creations, magnetized by your own set of beliefs.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in PULLING YOUR OWN STRINGS

“Loyalty does not mean slavery. You can be faithful to any organization and devote yourself to its tasks with honesty and integrity without having to become its servant. The most important person in the world, to whom you should be unswervingly loyal, is yourself. You only have one life, and to let some business, or other institution, control it is particularly foolish, when you consider that so many more alternatives are available. Loyalty is misused when people are given less importance than profits, and when the human spirit is sacrificed for the name of good old “Anything, Inc.”…

Any executive who can’t leave his desk doesn’t belong behind the desk at all. But you are the executive of your own life, and you can actively plan to use your own time in ways that are loyal to your chosen institutions, but which also lead to your happiness, health, and most important, fulfillment.”
