BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, December 28th, 2022 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED

“When you stop and think about it, the fact is that the vast majority of us have much for which to be thankful – we just tend to be oblivious to it. For example, most people never give a second thought to the myriad of activities that are occurring within their bodies every second they are alive. Additionally, those of us living in first-world countries rarely, if ever, feel grateful for such things as electricity, indoor plumbing, relatively safe drinking water, and much, much more. Instead, most of us tend to focus on what is missing in our lives, and ignore all of the blessings we already have. In the United States especially, people take so much for granted. This is truly amazing; in view of the fact that even our nation’s poorest people have a higher standard of living than most of the population in developing countries.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 by Neale Donald Walsch in FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD

“You are made in the image and likeness of God. Now this you have always understood, for this, too, you have been taught. Yet you are mistaken about what My image and likeness is. Thus have you been mistaken about what your image and likeness can be. You imagine that I am a God who has needs – among them, the need to have you love Me. (Now, some of your churches have sought to describe this as not having a need for your love, but merely a desire for it. It is simply, they say, My desire that you love Me, but I will never force you to. Yet is a “desire” not a “need” if I am willing to torture you for all eternity if I don’t get it? What kind of a desire is that?)

And so, being made in My image and likeness, you have called it normal to experience the same kind of desire. Thus you have created your fatal attractions. But now I am telling you that I have no needs. All that I am within My Self is all that I require in order to express all that I am outside of My Self. This is the true nature of God. This is the image and likeness in which you are made. Do you understand the wonder of that? Do you see its implications?

You, too, are without needs. There is nothing that you need in order to be perfectly happy. You only think that there is. Your deepest, most perfect happiness will be found within, and once you find it, nothing exterior to your Self can match it, nor can anything destroy it.”

God, as spoken to Neale Donald Walsch, “Friendship with God”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, December 26th, 2022 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in YOU’LL SEE IT WHEN YOU BELIEVE IT

“When we operate from the principle of scarcity, we generally believe, “If only I had something else, THEN I would have a lock on happiness and success.” A close look at this logic shows that what we are really saying is: “I am not complete right now. In some way I lack what I need. When I get that I will be complete.” If that is our belief, then we are relying on a disabled, incomplete person.

This kind of scarcity thinking assumes that we are not yet complete, happy, loving, total human beings, that we do not already have the missing pieces in abundance within ourselves. Thus we operate from a thinking process of deficiency, and end up trapped in the belief that “I’ve got to have more before I can be happy.” This is the very thing that keeps us from tuning in to the abundance that is everywhere.

You are it already. You already possess exactly what you need for happiness, success, fulfillment, and all of the lofty general goals that so many of us aspire. If our basic needs are met, and we have food, water, and air, then we have within us the ability to be blissfully happy. As Gandhi said, “God comes to the hungry in the form of food.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, December 23rd, 2022 by Daniel Ryan in HEALING FROM HEAVEN

“One definition of attachment is holding onto a fixed idea of how something is supposed to be. This ultimately catapults you into the past as your mind attempts to categorize and relate to it from a previous experience. This will only create disappointment because your new experiences will not be the same as the first, even if it’s a better experience. For example, if you expect it to snow on Christmas and it doesn’t, you may not be able to enjoy the holiday if you can’t accept the way it actually is. Also, having a rigid idea of what the future will bring causes stress because you don’t have enough information to envision the future yet, simply because you are not there.

Having said that, it’s a wonderful idea to set an intention and envision what you wish to manifest. Be open to what it looks like. It’s pretty much guaranteed it won’t look like you expect it to much of the time.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday December 22nd, 2022 by Paul Greblick creator of INNER INFLUENCING

“All you have are thoughts and feelings, and of these it is stored emotions from unresolved experiences from the past that are your most dangerous enemy. Why? They are literally responsible for the opposite of the Law of Attraction. Stored emotional energy from unresolved experiences from the past cause a “push” to happen, of good things away from you, and create this energetic void that just pulls the stuff that you don’t want or need right into your experience.

This has the net effect of destroying your peace, your willingness to continue, and your ability to even see there is a way out of your circumstances, that really and truly shouldn’t be there in the first place if this energy wasn’t pulling them into you so succinctly. I don’t care what tool or process you use – Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Tapas Accupressure Technique (TAT), or my own Inner Influencing – you’re going to reap the benefits of eliminating the emotional energy from the past that is still in your “container.” This energy is pulling you toward the exact things you don’t like, and “proves” to you that the Law of Attraction does not work for you, by hiding from your awareness the other law in action – the Law of Repulsion.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, December 21st, 2022 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED

“Taming one’s trepidation about the future ultimately requires that a person muster up the courage to face up to his or her fears. What you will find as you embark upon this course is that it is kind of like confronting the neighborhood bully when you were a kid, in that those fears are not nearly as intimidating as you thought they would be.

Before leaving this discussion of “the future,”, I will share with you another insightful quotation from The Quest, A Journey of Spiritual Rediscovery by Richard and Mary-Alice Jafolla:

“What about the future? Can you believe that if you keep on thinking the same thoughts, saying the same words, doing the same things, going in the same direction, the future will be any different than now? To look to the future as a savior without changing the present is to think an orange tree can grow from an acorn.”

Each moment of your life you have the unique opportunity to plant new seeds of thought, seeds that have the potential to someday sprout into all that you desire. In light of this reality, do not waste time fretting about what may occur, rather make full use of all of your “now” moments by choosing to consciously create your ideal future instead.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 by Paul Ferrini in THE SILENCE OF THE HEART

“New paradigm spiritual teachers claim no authority over others. They do not pretend to have the answers for others. They speak only of their own experience. They invite others to share in what they have learned from their experience, and to draw whatever conclusions they will. They do not take responsibility for what others choose to see. They do not preach. They do not try to fix. They simply accept others as they are and encourage others to find their own truth.

They empower. They see the light in others and encourage it. They don’t close their eyes to the darkness, but they know it is ultimately of no significance. When love is present, the darkness dissolves into light. They do not deny the darkness or do battle against it. They know there is nothing wrong, no evil to oppose, no battles to fight. They just gently encourage the light. They know the light itself will heal all wounds.”

“Are you afraid of financial insufficiency in your old age, of the sudden appearance of a particular disease in your body, of some calamity befalling you, of losing your loved ones? Is there a fear of failure, loneliness, accidents, death?

Identify your fears and face them – and see exactly what you are focusing on, what appearances you are judging. If you made a list of 101 fears, they would represent 101 conditions, situations, and ‘things’ WHICH HAVE NO EXISTENCE except in your mind.

The Tibetan master, D.K. (Djwhal Khul) has said, “The power of fear is enormously aggravated by the thoughtform we ourselves have built of our own individual fears and phobias. This thoughtform grows in power as we pay attention to it, for energy follows thought, till we become dominated by it.”

What about fearful situations that are pressing on you right at this moment, ones that are very real in terms of your life experience? Regardless of how genuine and factual each situation seems, you are only dealing with appearances, and it is up to you to decide how much power you want to give them.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, December 16th, 2022 by Megan Don in MEDITATIONS WITH TERESA OF AVILA

“Teresa noted that our reputation becomes a huge obstacle to surrendering. Even when we are working for the benefit of others, we can temper our words or actions so as not to displease the other. We choose not to create an awkward situation, and therefore we retreat from our inner knowing and call it “discretion.” Falling into the justification of discretion, said Teresa, is nothing more than sheltering ourselves from the fear of being persecuted, that is, of having our reputation tarnished.

She maintained that the souls who do the most good are those who do not care if they displease their fellow men and women. Once a priest asked her if it would be beneficial for him to accept the office of bishop. Her reply was divinely inspired: she told him that only when he did not desire authority should he accept it. That is, only when he no longer cared about his reputation would he be able to fulfill the position credibly.

The Beloved does not want us to withhold anything, said Teresa…And the more we surrender to this divine force, the more divine inspiration we shall receive. When we take this inspiration into the world, free from worries about our reputation, then other souls will also benefit.”

“How do we experience security? The one way we do not experience security is by collecting or accumulating assets. Security is not something that you attain outside of yourself. In fact the person who looks to create a feeling of security by amassing material wealth is missing the whole point. Security is a feeling that comes from trusting the Universe, believing that it functions in a way that is naturally supportive of everyone and everything in it. Every time we choose to create a feeling of security by increasing our net worth, we are treating an illusion as real. We are expressing disbelief in our true security which comes only from trust in the inherent safety and perfection of the Universe.”

“The truth about labels is that they really say nothing about the essence of the person to whom we apply them…What is particularly paradoxical is that of all the labels we humans apply, it is perhaps the “religion” label that serves to move people away from Oneness and toward separation more than any other. It really is astounding to me that the same religions that commonly use terms like the “brotherhood of man” and “children of God” are also quick to remind their members of the superiority of their own dogma.

It is also a historical fact that religious issues have been, and continue to be, at the foundation of both minor and major military conflicts all over the world. For that matter, it has even been estimated that more than one billion people have been killed in wars related to Christianity alone. When you consider the centuries-old religious conflicts in Northern Ireland, the Middle East, the Balkans, and many others, one literally has to be amazed at the irony of it all. All of this can make one appreciate this classic comment from Mahatma Ghandi all the more, “In heaven there is no religion, thank God.”

“People today think they have something. That’s because people have to find a label for a feeling. If they don’t give it a name the drug companies can’t sell you the drug to trick you into thinking you feel okay again.

Let’s take anxiety. For any human being to begin to feel anxiety about anything they first have to set up a belief that allows their body to feel anxious, and they need to make sure they know what feeling anxious actually feels like. How do they know they are anxious by the way? How do they know when to display the anxiety or how do they know when not to display it? How many times has a person who says they suffer from anxiety forgotten to display it? I ask that question to people every day. I say what happens if you forget to be anxious and they look at me kind of weird looking and can’t answer.

Anxiety like all feelings appears in the body. The moment your body feels anything but peace and comfort, you have played a trick on yourself and your body is letting you know.”

“The search for security is an illusion. In ancient wisdom traditions, the solution to this whole dilemma lies in the wisdom of insecurity, or the wisdom of uncertainty. This means that the search for security and certainty is actually an attachment to the known. And what’s the known? The known is our past. The known is nothing other than the prison of past conditioning. There’s no evolution in that – absolutely none at all. And when there is no evolution, there is stagnation, entropy disorder, and decay.

Uncertainty, on the other hand, is the fertile ground of pure creativity and freedom. Uncertainty means stepping into the unknown in every moment of our existence. The unknown is the field of all possibilities, ever fresh, ever new, always open to the creation of new manifestations. Without uncertainty and the unknown, life is just the stale repetition of outworn memories. You become the victim of the past, and your tormentor today is your self left over from yesterday.

Relinquish your attachment to the known, step into the unknown, and you will step into the field of all possibilities.”
