BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, July 13th, 2020 by Misa Hopkins in THE ROOT OF ALL HEALING

“Taking responsibility for everything that happens in your life is one of the steps to claiming your power and experiencing a complete healing. Once you truly embrace your journey and take full responsibility for your life, it would feel pretty harsh to do so without compassion. After all, you have been a human being who for the most part has probably been doing your best. You have probably created some moments you are proud of and some moments that still bring you shame. In order to deal with the shame, you need to consider how your own wounded motivations have been driving your feelings and choices. Once you acknowledge the wounded person who made the choices you are not proud of, you may find yourself able to feel compassion for yourself, thereby releasing the past and fully embracing your new state of realization, as well as compassion for others.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, July 10th, 2020 by Neale Donald Walsch in FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD

“Even if you manage to eliminate need from your relationship with each other, and with Me, you may still have to struggle with expectation. This is a state in which you have an idea that someone else in your life is to perform in a particular way, is going to show up as who you think they are, or who you think they should be.

Like need, expectation is deadly. Expectation reduces freedom, and freedom is the essence of love. When you love someone, you grant them total freedom to be who they are, for this is the greatest gift you could give them, and love always gives the greatest gift.

It is the gift that I give you, yet you cannot imagine that I am giving it to you, because you cannot imagine a love so great. So you have decided that I must have given you the freedom to do only the things that I want you to do. Yes, your religions say that I give you the freedom to do anything, to make any choice that you wish. Yet I ask you again: if I torture you endlessly and damn you eternally for making a choice I did not want you to make, have I made you free?”

God, as spoken to Neale Donald Walsch, “Friendship with God”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 9th, 2020 by John St. Augustine in EVERY MOMENT MATTERS

“What is it that speaks to us and says, “go back” or “turn left”? I suppose it has many names – intuition, the inner voice or guide – but those are just human terms for something that seems to be more “being” than “human,” and also seems to get easier to hear the more connected we become to the inner world. For me, it was on a walk, but it has also happened while I am driving or very tired, when my resistance to inner instruction is very low. Strangely, this inner guide always has our best interests in “mind,” for lack of a better term.

Here is what I know about this force or guidance: When I listen to it, really listen and get it, then all manner of events fall together in perfect harmony and cadence. The time that it takes becomes irrelevant because that still, small voice seems not to operate on the man-made time zones we are all used to. Even with all the evidence presented here and the scores of other times when that which is within beckons me, I still sometimes balk when the unseen mentor suggests a course of action or change in my life. It’s a tough gig, this human thing, but the “being” part of me delights in watching me grow.”

“There are many things in your life for you to be grateful for. Take the time to make a list of eleven of them. Really feel each one by going through the list individually. Breathe in the love and gratitude, let it flow through your entire being, touching your very core—your soul. Now repeat the words “Thank You,” four times. Let the energy flow out of your body to the Universe.

Go out into nature and give thanks to all that surrounds you. Notice the flowers, the trees and the wildlife. Study each small detail more carefully than you ever have before. Connect with their essence by breathing it in. Become one with the energy, giving thanks again for the beauty they are sharing. Feel the beauty you have inside yourself. If you are able, travel to a lake or ocean. Find yourself an inviting spot on the shore, where you can listen to the waves. Notice the rhythm of the waves as they flow towards you. Connect with each rhythmic movement of the water until you merge with their energy, becoming one with the waves and dancing with them.

Give thanks and be grateful for each natural rhythm that you experience throughout your life and continue to dance with it.

Will Murtha: I understand much of what you are saying, but I’m still struggling to find out where I went drastically off course.

Voice of Higher Presence: Life is a walk, not a sprint. Do not chastise yourself, as you have done many times before, when the answers to life first elude you. Your life is a journey, not a fixed destination. Therefore, allow the truth you are constantly searching for to slowly bubble to the surface. If you would have taken more time with the important issues in your life, then many of your answers would have been revealed. Only when you slow down can the truth to your life be uncovered.

In your insane drive to be someone in life, you unfortunately looked past the very essence of what is important. You took for granted those things of beauty that you should have cherished close to your heart. Just ponder for a moment. You enjoyed great health. You had a secure, loving family. Yet this was all taken for granted. You wanted more, and yet, sadly, you did not realize that life’s treasures were already in your possession.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, July 6th, 2020 by Don Miguel and Don Jose Ruiz in THE FIFTH AGREEMENT

“Humans are the only animals on earth who punish themselves a thousand times or more for the same mistake, and who punish everybody else a thousand times or more for the same mistake. How can we talk about injustice in the rest of the world when there is no justice in the world inside our own head? The entire universe is ruled by justice, but by true justice, not by the distortion of justice that we artists have created. True justice is facing what I call action-reaction. We live in a world of consequences; for every action there’s a reaction. True justice is to pay one time for every mistake we make. And how many times do we pay for every mistake? Obviously, this is not justice.

Let’s say you’re living with guilt and shame for a mistake you made ten years ago. The excuse for your suffering is, “I made a terrible mistake,” and you’re still suffering for something that happened ten years ago, but the truth is you’re suffering from something that happened ten seconds ago. You judged yourself again for the same mistake, and of course the big judge says, “You need to be punished.” It’s simple action-reaction. The action is self-judgment; the reaction is self punishment in the form of guilt and shame. All your life you repeat the same action, hoping to have a different reaction, and it never happens. The only way to change your life is to change the action, and then the reaction will change.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, July 3rd, 2020 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“True knowing does not come from any book, but from the heart. If a belief is the tool you use to draw lines in the sand in order to set yourself apart from the rest of God’s creation, you might want to consider why you would want to do such a thing. And, you might also want to reflect and seriously evaluate what you believe, where you learned it, who told you to believe this way, why someone might want you to think like this, and how this belief is actually working in your life.

Believe me when I say that this belief is definitely working in your life – all beliefs do. If, however, a belief causes separation, in any way, it is probably not working the way you expect it to. If you believe, for instance, that “in God, all things are possible,” then you will need a pretty small definition of ALL if you wish to exclude certain possibilities – like the possibility that you may be wrong about the whole thing, for instance. Who knows? And if you are in the habit of qualifying those things which may or may not be possible in the eyes, or kingdom, of God, you are a braver soul than I.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 2nd, 2020 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED

“According to Book 1 of the Conversations with God trilogy, the correct prayer is never one of supplication, but rather a prayer of gratitude. By thanking God in advance for what you intend to experience in your life, you acknowledge that the seed is planted in consciousness, and as such, already exists in effect. Naturally, the key to this approach to prayer is faith, which is having such confidence that something will occur that you literally have no doubt about it. That amount of conviction requires that you reach the point where you don’t merely believe you will experience what you intend to experience, but rather that you know you will.

The key to achieving this level of confidence, is coming to the awareness that if the God-Force can manage billions of chemical reactions every minute just to keep you alive, then it can certainly be trusted to assist you in bringing the exact people and/or circumstances into your life at precisely the right time.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 1st, 2020 by Marianne Williamson in EVERYDAY GRACE

“We should not have to choose between being in the flow of God’s love and having a successful career. Indeed, the former fosters the latter. Yet in our society, it’s very easy to buy in to the ego’s perspective on employment and career. The ego represents the belief in our own, small, separated self, and sustains its life by defending that belief. And this belief fosters fear, because it is not a belief that is natural to us.

We then seek to overcome that fear by building up our own individual kingdoms of money or prestige or power. We are often faced with the temptation to build our own career wins on someone else’s losses. But once we realize that we are not separate from others, that indeed what we do to others we are literally doing to ourselves, then our perspective changes. When we remember who we really are, we embrace our interconnectedness with all of life and the infinitude of our powers. We aren’t here to bolster our individual kingdoms; we are here to glorify God’s kingdom of love.”

“Rage can be a very telling thing. It has the potential to be one of the greatest teachers, because it lets us know when we’re coming dangerously close to an unconscious life theme. And why is it unconscious? Because we’re so embarrassed or threatened by it that we don’t even want to admit it to ourselves. So we lock it up in the dungeon of our forgotten memories and assign rage to act as a sentry, armed with instructions to shoot first and ask questions never!

If we’re aware enough to step back from our rage for just a moment, it can sometimes allow us to see unconscious forces that have been driving us since childhood. Compulsions and motivations that have lingered in the background can snap into focus. New insights can emerge that have the power to set us free – if we’re aware.”

“Believing that we lack beauty, intelligence, social position, wealth, and talent, that we are not as good as others, is painful and grossly limiting and it’s not true…Making our life’s purpose about proving our worth as a person is pathetic and a waste of our precious opportunity as a human being. Our endeavors to prove that we are good enough, or even better than others, only serve to invalidate our value in our own minds, because no matter what we do, we will still feel unworthy until we understand the lie and give it up by realizing our perfection as godlike souls. When our core belief is “I am not enough,” this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Just drop it.

Affirm: I am enough and have always been enough. Dropping the concept “I am not good enough to be loved and approved of or to prosper” involves dropping our concern about what anyone, including our parents, children, and mate, thinks of us.”

“There will always be periods when it seems as if you are getting nowhere, and life’s a bore. Yet you find that by putting one foot in front of the other, not letting someone else fill your pack, and having the courage to follow the vision that is given you, you can live your dreams. As a matter of fact, that is what you are being called to do. On the trip, you will find out that the “light” the world needs shines from you, but can only be revealed if you peel back the layers and get down to the truth.

While it’s easy to be lonely in a world filled with despair and pain, you are, in fact, not alone and never have been. How are you going to do it? Never mind that. Why you take the walk is more important. Your path is calling…can you hear it?”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, June 25th, 2020 by Dr. Judith Orloff, M.D. in SECOND SIGHT

“Spirituality is a lifelong pursuit. You don’t reach a quick epiphany, get struck enlightened, and suddenly arrive. As Stephen Mitchell writes, at times spiritual transformation can be like “cleaning the heart with a piece of steel wool,” with clarity always the goal. While reading his book The Gospel According to Jesus, I was especially impressed by the story of the spiritual journey of Chao-Chou, a Zen monk from the T’ang Dynasty. Achieving enlightenment when only seventeen years old, he still chose to remain with his teacher for another forty years.

He did this out of love, but also to heighten his insight further and purify his character. Other monks left to teach at a much earlier age. But Chao-Chou was matchless in his excellence, and patience. Finally, at the age of eighty, he felt ready to teach. Chao-Chou proposed a humble philosophy: “If I meet a hundred-year-old man and I have something to teach him, I will teach; if I meet an eight-year-old boy and he has something to teach me, I will learn.”…Chao-Chou can be a model for us all.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 by Deepak Chopra in THE SEVEN SPIRITUAL LAWS OF SUCCESS

“Least effort is expended when your actions are motivated by love, because nature is held together by the energy of love. When you seek power and control over other people, you waste energy. When you seek money or power for the sake of the ego, you spend energy chasing the illusion of happiness instead of enjoying happiness in the moment. When you seek money for personal gain only, you cut off the flow of energy to yourself, and interfere with the expression of nature’s intelligence. But when your actions are motivated by love, your energy multiplies and accumulates – and then surplus energy you gather and enjoy can be channeled to create anything that you want, including unlimited wealth.”

Will Murtha: So every life situation turning up, regardless of whether we initially think of it as bad, is a direct reflection of something that we have called forward?

Voice of Higher Presence: That’s it. Look at every life situation that shows up, and you will come to the divine truth that what we put out there boomerangs back to us. This is because life is a perfect reflection of our innermost thoughts. What we experience is often a mirror of how our mind sees the world. You may think that random events are just showing up in your life by chance, but they are not. They have been magnetized to you, by you. Everything you feel and witness is being drawn to you by your level of consciousness.

When you come to live this level of understanding, you will have made one of the most profound jumps in your conscious awareness. You will come to realize that everything you experience in life, and every person you stumble across, is there for a reason…All the people who have shown up at every crossroad of our lives have shown up to serve our intentions. They have appeared to us because, on one conscious level or another, we have magnetized them toward us. And that is because the relationship they bring into our life space offers numerous lessons for where our thoughts and emotions say they wish to take us.”
