BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 by Tom T. Moore in THE GENTLE WAY

“Your guardian angel is there to assist you every minute of the day, but you have to ask. We can use the metaphor of your guardian angel and angelic guides sitting around watching a TV set of your life as you live it. They are pretty bored, because they don’t get to help you very often. They can only “whisper in your ear,” and most of the time you don’t listen to them. They jump with joy when you acknowledge their presence and request even a little assistance. Requesting benevolent outcomes * will strengthen your spiritual beliefs, because you will be receiving constant feedback that there are angelic beings who love you and wish to help you lead a more gentle, less stressful life – the Gentle Way.”

Tom T. Moore, in “The Gentle Way”

* A request for a “benevolent outcome” is a request to your guardian angel for assistance.

“Dwelling on the negative will produce a miracle in your life of a like nature. Trust me when I say that a downward spiral of depression is likely to result from dwelling on the negative. This is why it is so important to get outside, change your scenery, and find something positive to occupy your thoughts, when trying to get over a negative occurrence in your life. No matter how bad you think something is, it can always get worse. But it can get better, too. What’s the difference? The difference is only the direction and nature of your thoughts; and that is all.

You see, the manifestation of negative events, following a period of negative thought and emotion, is no different than hoping and praying for good and then experiencing good. If you can recognize the thoughts that preceded any negative event in your life, it is the same as recognizing that you were thinking of the person on the other end of the phone just before it rang. You are acknowledging the actions of God. God is always giving us what we ask for. Ask and ye shall receive – you should be seeing a common pattern by now.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, October 5th, 2018 by Neale Donald Walsch in COMMUNION WITH GOD

“You may think that you need a particular person to be happy, or a job to be successful, or some other emotional or physical gratification to be content. That is when you may wish to notice that you are here, right now, without it. Why, then, do you think you need it? Close examination will reveal that you do NOT need it, not to survive, not even to be happy.

HAPPINESS IS A DECISION, NOT AN EXPERIENCE.

You can decide to be happy without what you thought you needed to be happy, and you will be. This is one of the most important things you could ever come to understand. Your experience is the RESULT of your decision, not the CAUSE of it.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, October 4th, 2018 by Sonia Choquette in TRUE BALANCE

“Just as a closed heart causes problems, so does one that is too wide open. Such a heart causes people to be overly sensitive to the energy of those around them, so much so that they actually absorb other peoples’ energy. This can be psychically and physically draining, especially when the energy is dissonant or angry. When you are overly empathic, the resonance you feel with others is non-selective. If someone is happy, you feel happy. If someone is miserable, you feel miserable. You are at the mercy of feeling whatever anyone else is feeling, whether you want to or not. It’s as if you were a lighting rod in an electrical storm. If energy is being discharged, you attract it…

Though we may tell ourselves that absorbing another’s hurt is kind and loving, in fact it is really an attempt to relieve our own discomfort. If we are loving, we realize that all of life’s experiences, even the painful ones, need to be honored, and that we need to stay in our own energy field. We must not try to control outcomes or assume we even have a right to get involved. We all need our experiences in order to learn. If we attempt to tamper with those of others, even with the best of intentions, we may be setting them back on their path.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in YOU’LL SEE IT WHEN YOU BELIEVE IT

“You yourself are abundance in action. But the body that you call you cannot own anything or take anything with it when you leave. That body functions by forces and energy that transcend accumulations. All of the ‘stuff’ of your life has arrived to serve you, rather than to make you a servant to the stuff. Everything that was “owned” by someone only a few years ago is now serving someone else. The land that was thought to be owned is now serving others. The jewelry now adorns others. And so it goes in the entire spectrum of life. Nothing gets owned, and the sooner we realize this and stop trying to own things and people, the more we will be able to tune in to the wondrous principle of abundance.”

“For every spiritual concept that excites you, get still and reflect quietly upon it until something happens in you. When you read something that seems strangely familiar, something that is inspiring and unforgettable, it is because the words have stirred up an awareness of a depth of spirituality within yourself. It is the releasement of this innate potential that is the object of all study. The words of the teacher, the book, or the course of study – are not the object of your search, but the means to the end of a personal revelation of truth.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, October 1st, 2018 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“You are not simply a ship adrift in this world. You emerged into this existence through and with the power of creation. If you went to a fast-food drive-in and ordered a hamburger and soft-drink, you may not have cooked the food or poured the drink, but you are the creator of that moment, nonetheless. It was your desire and thoughts which set in motion the events that would ultimately see your desire fulfilled.

It is understandable that so many people simply write this off, along with so many miracles of manifestation, because they don’t understand and haven’t been shown the significance of such acts. The fact that you can become aware of a desire and then experience the fulfillment of that desire through simply thinking about it and doing what comes naturally, is an important piece of information in unlocking the power of prayer.

If you begin to look closely at such events in your life, as well as in the lives of those around you, you will see a pattern emerge. You will see that all of these things, no matter how simple or insignificant any of these things may seem, happen through the same process, follow the same pattern, and utilize the same principle and mechanism. Manifestation is manifestation; whether you want a cheeseburger, vibrant health, or a new job, this is your gift. Why would you not use such a thing to your benefit, or to improve or enhance your experience here?”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, September 28th, 2018 by Richard & Mary-Alice Jafolla in THE QUEST

“The words I AM are so powerful that they must be used with extreme care. Why? Because the words I AM are your actual identity. They are your spiritual name, the identity of your spiritual self. Your I AM is the name of the God nature in you and of all the divine potential in you.

If you want to feel the power of the words I AM, substitute the words “It is my essence to be…,” or “It is my nature to be…” Thus a seemingly innocuous comment, “I am so worried,” translates into “It is my very nature to be worried.” A comment said in frustration, “I am completely devastated,” becomes “It is my essence to be devastated.”

Restated that way, those statements feel so uncomfortable to you because they more clearly point out that you are claiming something you don’t really want. You are identifying yourself with something far, far removed from your essence. Yet that’s exactly what happens when you used the words I AM. You put a claim into the great Creative Intelligence of the universe to transform yourself into whatever it is with which you are identifying.”

“Many of us complicate our lives by expending more time, energy, and effort than necessary – getting involved in other people’s business, playing God, committing to tasks or socializing we really didn’t want, making promises, creating more busywork.

Saying no to extraneous activities means saying yes to what is central to your life – spending less time scattered among extraneous tasks and more time doing that which feels purposeful. As one sage put it, “What I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.”

“When you reconnect to the deepest part of who you are through your Source Mind, you learn to trust your choices and to trust your own authority once again. You grant yourself permission to live a different, happier, richer life than your tribe of origin, and by example lead your tribe forward with you. When you do, magic happens. Your family and society become richer, more harmonious, and more peaceful because of you.

You change whom and what you attract into your life only when you change your subconscious beliefs…Perhaps you have wondered why there are successful people from all economic and emotional conditions who have overcome adversity and the odds to succeed. They have succeeded because they discovered another way to think and feel.

Those who succeed accept ideas and thoughts from the outside world as a choice to believe or not without judgment. They create and manifest from the power within.”

“It is said that “In God, all things are possible.” So, when you base your existence on a book that says, “…all things are possible,” and “Judge not…,” it pretty much shuts down any petty human differences; anything can happen, everything is possible, and you are only human and have no knowledge, experience, or authority with which to judge the works of God (other humans, for instance). That part is pretty simple; I just can’t seem to find the part about boycotting people and businesses because they refuse to judge others. Are we saying that we should follow the Bible’s teachings, except for where the Bible got it wrong and there is clearly a need for someone to step in and render some judgment? Or, have we simply decided to use the “love thy neighbor” policy when we are in a good mood and the “hellfire and brimstone” approach when we have had a bad day, or week – or life, or marriage, etc.”

“Forgiveness means that you do not hold others responsible for your experiences. When you hold someone responsible for what you experience, you lose power. Therefore, when you depend on another person for the experiences that you think are necessary to your well-being, you live continually in the fear that they will not deliver. The perception that someone else is responsible for what you experience underlies the idea that forgiveness is something that one person does for another. How can you forgive another person for the fact that YOU have CHOSEN to step out of your power?”

“People invest considerable emotional energy in the defense of beliefs they hold to be true. Although this may seem obvious in regards to religious, political, economic and moral beliefs, I frequently see people fervently invest their emotional energy in dietary preferences (low fat versus low carb, vegetable versus meat-based) and health care approaches (allopathic versus naturopathic).

The commitment to truth requires you to continually review your beliefs about the world and your place in it, expanding your capacity to embrace multiple perspectives. As you become less rigid in your perceptions of truth, you become capable of respecting and empathizing with people of diverse beliefs. Maintaining your truth while remaining open to others’ points of view has a healing and transformational effect on all relationships: personal, work, cultural, and international.”

“Americans spend fifty billion dollars a year on security systems and guards. We get caught and lost in fear so often in our life, but rarely have we examined and dealt with the demon of the fearful mind itself. Of course, as we work with the fearful mind, we will initially become afraid. We will encounter this demon over and over again. However, at some point, if we open our eyes and our heart to the fearful mind and gently name it, “fear, fear, fear,” experiencing its energy as it moves through us, the whole sense of fear will shift, and later will simply come the recognition, “Oh, fear, here you are again. How interesting.”

“Self-forgiveness is not always a simple task, especially in the case of acts that caused significant pain or distress to other people. Nevertheless, if you aren’t willing to release all of the resentment you feel toward yourself, how can you expect to be forgiven by whomever it is that you harmed? Moreover, without self-forgiveness, you simply cannot move forward in your spiritual growth, nor can you hope to succeed in your personal healing efforts. To assist you in this process of forgiving yourself, I highly recommend the use of the following prayer, which I came across a few years ago in a book called The Angels Within Us by John Randolph Price. It is one that has always been of great value to me in my own efforts to release myself from past mistakes:

“Spirit of the living God within, my precious holy Self, I totally and completely forgive myself for every thought, feeling, word, deed of the past. I release everything to you, all of my self-condemnation, all of my guilt, and all of my fear, and I close the door on all that was yesterday. As I forgive myself I know that I am forgiving all, for I am everyone, and everyone is me, and through the cleansing action of forgiveness we are all wonderfully free.”

By saying this prayer each day with sincerity, I assure you that it will become increasingly easy for you to accept and approve of yourself, regardless of your past errors. So give it a try, my friend; what have you got to lose but some negative energy that can only harm you as you move forward in your life?”
