BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 by Wayne W. Dyer in MANIFEST YOUR DESTINY

“The person who is most capable of disturbing your state of peace is a person who is reminding you that you are not truly in the state of peace and enlightenment that results from trust. At that moment, this person is your greatest teacher. This is the person whom you want to treasure and thank God for sending into your life! When you can transcend the rage, anger and upset which that person appears to provoke, and instead say, “Thank you for being my teacher,” you have acknowledged a soul-mate relationship.

Everyone in your life who can still push your buttons and send you into that frenzied state is a master teacher disguised as a manipulative, inconsiderate, frustrating, and non-understanding being. The peace that is enlightenment means that you are not only at peace with those who share your interests and agree with you, and with strangers who come and go, but also with those master teachers who remind you that you still have some work to do on yourself.”

Wayne W. Dyer, in “Manifest Your Destiny”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, June 4th, 2018 by Eckhart Tolle in A NEW EARTH

“Being aware of your breath forces you into the present moment—the key to all inner transformation. Whenever you are conscious of the breath, you are absolutely present. You may also notice that you cannot think and be aware of your breathing. Conscious breathing stops your mind. But far from being in a trance or half asleep, you are fully awake and highly alert. You are not falling below thinking, but rising above it. And if you look more closely, you will find that those two things—coming fully into the present moment and ceasing thinking without loss of consciousness—are actually one and the same: the arising of space consciousness.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, June 1st, 2018 by Stuart Wilde in SILENT POWER

“Make it a discipline not to discuss your personal details with others. Develop mystery, silence, and a secrecy about your life. Don’t allow people to know your deep, innermost self. Sure, you may have a friend you want to discuss things with from time to time. But, generally speaking, don’t talk about yourself. If you have to, do so only in general terms and only when people ask you. Of course, sometimes the situation may require you to talk about yourself, for example, in an office situation where you have to describe your abilities. But for the most part, keep quiet.

A powerful person doesn’t waste words, doesn’t waffle and drift, but instead, thinks through what he or she wants to say and expresses these thoughts succinctly and purposely. The most powerful way to speak is with brevity.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, May 31st, 2018 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“What if God told you today,”You can have anything you want, my child; just ask for it…” would you bother to ask for what you want, then? Incidentally, that is exactly how it works. “Ask and ye shall receive.” I know this to be true, I use it, and I truly feel compassion for those who, without even trying something, can be convinced that it won’t work, or that it isn’t valid. Prayer works. And in case you can not hear it, you are indeed being asked to make a wish.

If you were extremely ill, would you spend five minutes, three times each day, saying affirmations simply because you read in a book that thousands of people have created their own cures in this way? Or, would you just go to the doctor and let your health ride on his faith and know-how alone? So many people will allow their skepticism to stand between them and their desires, or the answers to their prayers.

Why not try it now? If you have some chronic pain or illness, or if there is something that you truly want out of life, create an affirmation and start saying it for several minutes when you wake-up, while taking a break in the middle of the day, and before going to sleep at night. You probably wouldn’t be surprised at how many people don’t even have faith enough to “waste” fifteen minutes of their day asking God for what they want.

Don’t just try to do it one day and then give up; that is not faith.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 by John St. Augustine in LIVING AN UNCOMMON LIFE

“Holding on to pain will cost you big time. To err is human…to forgive is absolutely necessary if you want to live an uncommon life. There is a big payoff in being “the victim.” People pay attention to you, but for all the wrong reasons. There is also a big payoff in being “the victor.” Then people not only pay attention to you, but when you forgive what was and move on to what you can be, they gain perspective on their own journey from observing you taking yours…Forgiveness, like everything else, begins and ends with you.

Forgiving yourself takes practice. It has to become a habit. And with all the bad habits humans have garnered over the centuries, it’s a good one you should consider developing to its full potential. Forgiving others in no way condones, validates, or excuses their actions or behaviors, but it does reverse the flow of power from them back to you, where it belongs and you can do the most good. Let POW in your life stand for: power over weakness not prisoner of woe.”

John St. Augustine, in “Living an Uncommon Life”

“The most debilitating belief I encounter is that work requires suffering. The most liberating belief I encounter is that an authentic career is founded in joy. If this sounds alien to you, remember the words of The Wright brothers, who described their process of inventing the airplane thus: “We couldn’t wait to get up in the morning’. Behold the most telling feature of right livelihood. You, too, can enjoy such a blessed career, provided you are true to your unique gifts. Keep it simple: do what you love and let others do the rest. Then you will remember how good it can get and live it.”

“You are only as powerful as that for which you stand. Do you stand for more money in the bank and a bigger house? Do you stand for an attractive mate? Do you stand for imposing your way of thinking upon others? These are the stands of the personality seeking to satisfy its wants. Do you stand for perfection, for the beauty and compassion of each soul? Do you stand for the power of love and the clarity of wisdom? Do you stand for forgiveness and humbleness? There are the stands of the personality that has aligned itself with its soul. This is the position of a truly powerful personality.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, May 25, 2018 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

This journey inward is much more frightening than surrounding yourself with a herd; for this journey is one that is taken alone, “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Whereas religion seems to unify people under a common, man-made belief system, spiritualism empowers individual unmasking. Fear and the subsequent desire for security will keep you with other like-minded people – your own herd, so to speak.

The problem with following the herd is that they must stick to the wide path, and “…wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be which go in thereat…” When following the herd, you must be careful not to “step in something;” and you must be ever vigilant for those who make their way in life by preying on herds.”

“You would not be the person you are today, you would not have the love, the understanding, the maturity, the depth, the compassion, the soul-searching desire for more of God’s goodness in your life if you had not had the past experiences you have been condemning. Out of the past you have grown, unfolded, and expanded your understanding and your world. So do not try to run away from the past. Do not condemn it. Just try to put it in its rightful place in your own thinking: Those experiences were for good, because through them you came forth into a “larger place” in your understanding. Release all anxiety or condemnation of yourself or others about your past.”

“You have been taught to believe that there are some bad people in the world who are best ignored. I am suggesting the contrary. Everyone who comes into your life in any capacity is valuable. The petty tyrants in your life are just as divine as those who provide you with encouragement and support. Emerson put this important lesson like this: “The whole course of things goes to teach us faith.” The whole course. This means everything that comes your way.”

“The next time you feel the need to start blaming someone else for whatever experiences you might be experiencing, give your median fibrous septum (the divider that runs down the center of your tongue) a nice, firm clamp. After you do that a few times, you will actually be programming your brain to stop thinking like a victim. It’s the same thing as repeatedly hitting yourself in the head with a hammer until you realize that it hurts and you stop. No matter how strong the urge to fire up the “blamethrower,” hold your tongue until the urge passes. You will be amazed at how quickly “look what happened to me” leaves your vocabulary.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, May 21st, 2018 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“We are not here to judge others; we are here to experience our own experience. If you are making the most out of your experience, how do you find time to judge others in theirs? The best way to save the world is to leave people alone. This is akin to the proverbial, “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Work on yourself. Matthew 7:1 reads, “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” As if this needed clarification, Jesus compounds this statement FIVE times in the next four sentences. There is not one other place in the Bible where a point was more clearly expressed – there can be no clearer expression of hypocrisy than judgment.

You know that you don’t know everything, none of us do; we only know what we know. So stop pretending that you know something about how another person should live their life. You couldn’t know how to be them anymore than that person could know how to be you. Everything has a purpose. Pretending to know things can lead to an unwillingness to learn new things; so learn all you can. If you must pretend, pretend to know nothing. That way, it will seem natural to want to learn new things. You will do yourself a big favor by becoming the best you that you can be. If things in life bother you, make you mad, or push any buttons for you, then you are a victim of your judgments and this is a sign for you to take a moment and work on yourself before you start experiencing physical symptoms because of these emotional triggers. This is basically where all dis-ease is born – in the stress caused when life doesn’t match our beliefs about life. Your salvation lies within your mind.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, May 18th, 2018 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED

“While traditional religions are capable of providing a stable foundation for spiritual growth, those that represent God as a monarch who punishes his or her subjects for their transgressions are not by any means empowering their followers. To the contrary, by rigidly adhering to such traditional religious beliefs, one is often motivated more out of fear than loyalty or love. For example, “I’d better follow God’s commandments (rules) or I’ll be disliked by the other members of my church, or worse yet, be punished in hell for my sins.”

This fear works to get people mechanically altering their behavior at times, but it does not provide for true long-term shifts in a person’s beliefs and consciousness. In my experience, people simply aren’t inspired to delve into new ways of thinking and behaving when the motivation to do so is based on the threat of punishment. Profound changes usually happen when people see some form of tangible reward for undertaking the effort necessary to make those changes.

In many instances the fear-based motivation characterizing some traditional religious doctrines, can exercise control over an individual for an entire lifetime. For most, it is simply too intimidating to go against the immediate family, the tribe, or the church. So, they choose to accept the status quo and not deal with the conflict that would result from questioning that specific doctrine. While this approach is certainly much easier, ultimately it limits an individual’s spiritual growth potential, because it truly inhibits them from coming to a better understanding of “who they really are.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, May 17th, 2018 by Neale Donald Walsch in CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD, BOOK 1

“There is no such thing as “getting to heaven.” There is only a knowing that you are already there. There is an accepting, an understanding, not a working for or a striving. You cannot go to where you already are. To do that, you would have to leave where you are, and that would defeat the whole purpose of the journey. The irony is that most people think they have to leave where they are to get to where they want to be. And so they leave heaven in order to get to heaven and go through hell.

Enlightenment is understanding that there is nowhere to go, nothing to do, and nobody you have to be except who you’re being right now. You are on a journey to nowhere. Heaven is nowhere. Let’s just put some space between the w and the h in that word and you’ll see that heaven is now…here.”
