BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, February 4th, 2013 by Caroline Myss in ANATOMY OF THE SPIRIT

“When we harbor negative emotions toward others or toward ourselves, or when we intentionally create pain for others, we poison our own physical and spiritual systems. By far the strongest poison to the human spirit is the inability to forgive oneself or another person. It disables a person’s emotional resources. The challenge, is to refine our capacity to love others as well as ourselves, and to develop the power of forgiveness.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, February 1st, 2013 by Walter E. Jacobson M.D. in FORGIVE TO WIN

“Day to day, person to person, moment to moment, our judgmental thoughts must stop. This is not a simple task. We must continuously challenge the belief that we need judgmental thoughts to protect ourselves, prevail, and prosper in a chaotic, hostile universe. We don’t. Certainly, we need to evaluate situations, look at people’s behaviors and decide if we want to cooperate with them or not, but we don’t need to judge them. We need to evaluate their behaviors without attacking their personhood. We need to judge the actions, not the actors. This is a critically important distinction that we must learn to make.

The concept of releasing judgments applies not only to the behaviors and actions of others, but also to the judgments we make about their physical attributes…All sorts of critical judgments, observations and put-downs, some more mean-spirited than others, flash through our minds on a daily basis, in terms of what people look like, how they comb their hair, what clothes they wear, what jewelry they adorn themselves with, what body parts they expose, how they laugh, how they chew their food, what knick-knacks they have on their desk, the list goes on.

Despite how innocent or harsh these judgments may seem to be, and despite the fact that they’re all in our mind, that we’re not expressing them to the people involved, none of them are harmless to us.”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, January 31st, 2013 by Daniel Ryan in HEALING FROM HEAVEN

“Spirit has a way of guiding us to an awareness of our innate magnificence that is waiting to be realized. As we become more aware of the vastness of our being, a quickening happens. Choices are more obvious, negative or addictive habits are less interesting, and our attention shifts, which alters our perception of reality, as we have known it. This new reality comes with the gratitude of appreciating the miracles that are ever present all around us, and that we may have taken for granted previously.

The sun rises and warms the earth. Photosynthesis provides food and converts carbon dioxide to oxygen. Physiologically, the body converts oxygen and food to create energy via a chemical reaction, release C02 as one of the byproducts completing the cycle – one of an infinite number of miracles occurring constantly. When we focus on the incredible things that are happening all the time, it raises our vibration.

By raising our vibration, we are able to experience a knowing of the great synchronicity of life, a knowing that surpasses human logical understanding. Hence, that person you may call a fool wearing a huge smile with an eternal sparkle in his eyes knows a secret. Gratitude is the prayer of the enlightened.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 by Michelle Bersell in F.E.E.L.: FEEL EVERY EMOTION AS LOVE

“The truth of the matter is that fear is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable. You are expanding, and to do so means you have to move out of your comfort zone. When you learn to listen to your inner guidance, you know that you can trust it. And as self-trust blossoms, you recognize that whatever the outcome  may be in following you heart, it will surely support your growth. You believe with all your heart, it will surely support your growth. You believe with all your heart that you are being guided in the long term.

Acting on behalf of your essence rather fear takes trust and courage. Before you take the plunge – into a cold lake, out of an airplane, or toward your next adventure in life – try to remember that the desired outcome is worth the price of fear. You have a choice: Put ego at the wheel and use the energy of fear to drive through life with your brakes on, OR use that charged energy to take a leap, let go, and accelerate.”

“The next time you’re running errands, pause for five minutes in the parking lot to consider all that had to happen to get you safely to that spot. At one time you had to find the money to buy the car. Then the engine had to start. Stoplights worked, road crews kept the asphalt maintained, others drove cautiously. There are a thousand little things that had to happen just right to get you from point A to point B.

Now, I’m guessing that you’re a bit like me and have no idea how all of it came together. Probably, don’t even care. I mean, come on people, just hurry up, I need to get to the bank, right? I know nothing about the electronic thingamajigs that trigger the stoplights. But they still work and help me get to where I need to go.

That’s how faith works. It works whether you know how it happens or not. It’s your job to notice.”

“There are people in your life
who’ve come and gone,
they’ve let you down,
you know they’ve hurt your pride

You better put it all behind you,
Because life goes on,
You keep carrying that anger,
It will eat you up inside.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, January 25th, 2013 by Neale Donald Walsch in FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD

“Every time you have a hunch about something and ignore it, you turn ME down. Every time you receive an offer to put an end to bad feelings, or cease a conflict, and ignore it, you turn ME down. Every time you do not return the smile of a stranger, walk under the awesome wonder of a night sky and don’t look up, pass a flower bed without stopping to behold its beauty, you turn ME down.

Every time you hear My voice, or feel the presence of a departed loved one, and say it’s your imagination, you turn ME down. Every time you feel love for another in your soul, or feel a song in your heart, or see a grand vision in your mind, and do nothing about it, you turn ME down. Every time you find yourself reading just the right book, or hearing just the right sermon, or watching just the right movie, or running into just the right friend, at just the right time in your life, and write it off to coincidence or serendipity or “luck,” you turn ME down.”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, January 24th, 2013 by Annemarie Greenwood and Marissa Campbell in LIFE: LIVING IN FULFILLMENT EVERY DAY

“Consider each and every thought you have as a prayer, or a personal wish, that gets sent out into the world and is always answered. If we could all rationalize and accept that concept , we would realize the importance of choosing our thoughts and words very carefully! Positivity begets positivity; negativity begets negativity.

When we constantly send out the same types of signals into the world, they begin to coalesce, to join together, and with their combined weight they generate a powerful gravitational force that attracts like to like back into our experience. In other words, depending on what our overall focus is – whatever we are feeling and thinking positive thoughts and emotions or whether we are focused on negative ones – we will essentially have our sentiments, our prayers, answered.”

“There are no accidents or victims. Each person is responsible for his own evolution. Each pulls to himself the circumstances experienced in life. He puts in an order, so to speak, and gets back three cracked cups. That is a part of the learning pattern, trial and error.

That is why adversity is so useful. It allows people to look for something beyond day-to-day reality, and this brings them in touch with their true inner selves. In desperation, they begin to pull on their unlimited power, and they realize that anything can be changed, that suffering is a product of the inner self, and by looking at their inner selves, they can transform them.”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013 by Theresa Crabtree in MAYAN MESSAGES: DAILY GUIDE TO SELF-EMPOWERMENT

“The manifestation process is a learned behavior. The word “infestation” is defined as a presence of a large number of pest organisms in or on a host. As a word play, we can look at the word “man-infestation” as applied to the large number of pesty thoughts that flow into your conscious and unconscious mind every moment.

How to control your thoughts? The first step is simple observation. Pay attention to your thoughts. How do you feel when you have this or that thought? Which thoughts do you respond to, which do you ignore? The next step is to look closer at your thoughts. Are some persistent? Which ones give you joy? Which ones create fear? Which ones would you like to act upon? Which ones would you like to ignore? Before manifestation occurs, you must first set your intention, to know and declare what you wish to experience. Once you have this clear vision, it is your responsibility to take your e-motions and put that energy into motion.

As you pay attention to your thoughts, nurture only those that lead to your desired outcome. When you have thoughts of fear, emotions you don’t like or persistent negative thoughts, then literally, think again. This is where practice makes perfect. When you have thoughts that lead you away from your intention or anything less than love, choose something else to think about. It is rather simple, but like any habit, it takes practice to change behaviors.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, January 21st, 2013 by Friedrich Nietzsche

“Whatever your fate is, whatever the hell happens, you say, “This is what I need.” It may look like a wreck, but go at it as though it were an opportunity, a challenge. If you bring love to that moment – not discouragement – you will find the strength is there. Any disaster or setback you can survive is an improvement in your character, your stature, and your life. What a privilege!

This is when the spontaneity of your own nature will have a chance to flow. Then, when looking back at your life, you will see that the moments which seemed to be great failures or setbacks followed by wreckage were the incidents that shaped the life you have now. You’ll see that this is really true.

Nothing can happen to you that is not positive. Even though it looks and feels at the moment like a negative crisis, it is not. The crisis throws you back, and when you are required to exhibit strength, it comes.

The dark night of the soul comes just before revelation. When everything is lost, and all seems darkness, then comes the new life and all that is needed.”

“In all instances, what religious ideology claims as truth has been handed down over generations from one person to another, with each new storyteller or writer likely adding their own bit of journalistic license to the mix. In the end, what we are told is the “Word of God” is something that we had to have been introduced to by someone else, and based on that introduction, we are expected to blindly accept it because that is what a good Christian, or Muslim, or Hindu, etc. should do. Yet, haven’t you ever wondered how the God-Force could apply different rules to different groups of people?

To dare question the source of the information provided in religious texts is often considered by many religions to be at least inappropriate, and at worst sinful. The reality is that individual religious dogma cannot prove its own truth is actually the truth, nor can it prove that another religion’s truth is not the truth. Once you open your mind to this fact, it becomes easier and easier to be more open-minded about spirituality in general.”

“You need not blindly accept whatever fate or expectation your parents, siblings, teachers, political leaders, media commentators, friends or co-workers have dictated for you. You not only have the right, but the responsibility, to decide, for yourself, what you think. To do so, you must become aware of your thoughts. You may well discover that the majority of thoughts that you think every day are not even your own. You may further discover that many of these thoughts are dis-empowering, intended to induce fear or otherwise direct your behavior.

You did not incarnate on earth to “play it safe” or be a robot that simply “follows the rules, hoping to fit in.” You were created in the image of God. This means you were born to create. Your life’s mission is to tap into your inner self and express the wisdom from within – not to blindly accept the viewpoint or doctrine of some expert, guru or societal program as the default setting.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, January 16th, 2012 by Brenda J. Bentley, in EAT, GUILT, REPENT, REPEAT

“The key principle to eating intuitively is about getting back in rapport with your body. To listen, understand and respond to the many ways your body lets you know it’s time to eat and when you’ve had enough. As a result, intuitive eaters are able to retain their healthy, default, natural weight effortlessly. This means you need to work from the inside-out and this starts with changing what you’ve learned so far. You came into this world eating intuitively according to the natural rhythm of your hunger and satiety cycles and along the way you’ve learned differently. You became out of touch with your body, your feelings and yourself. You’ve learned to ignore what you want and desire, and put in its place things you think you should want and eat or shouldn’t want and don’t eat.

You already know yourself better than anyone else. So you need to learn to trust in yourself to distinguish between emotional and physical hunger and respond accordingly. You can return to eating without struggle, guilt, deprivation or obsession with food. If you were to eat based on internal signals of biological hunger instead of external signals of schedule, time, stress or other triggers you would be able to return to your body’s natural weight and maintain it.”

“To help your mind relax, change your hostile attitude towards your mind. Instead of saying: “Oh no, here’s that thought and feeling again!” say, “Okay, I see the thought, I see my frustration, and I know that it will pass. I trust that existence knows when it’s the right time for me to wake up and it will give me the gift when I’m ready.” This kind of attitude will bring you closer to your being, which is always peaceful. Keep remind yourself that everything in life is transitory.

Watch your thoughts when you feel happy, and watch them when you feel sad or frustrated. Remember, just as the positive thoughts and feelings pass, the negative thoughts and feelings also pass…When you remain a witness to both the ups and downs of life, you relax. You know that when you are experiencing a peak, a valley will soon follow. Witnessing everything allows you to let go of your attachment to any outcome and accept life with all its colors.”
