PONDER on THIS for Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 by Gloria Wendroff in HEAVENLETTERS

“Unforgiveness is a hardening of the heart. It closes down avenues. Unforgiveness is lovelorn. when someone has offended you, has not regarded you highly, has overlooked or snubbed you or downplayed you, or didn’t think of you at all and left you out of his life, why keep the dart that pierced your heart in the first place? Why keep it deep in your heart? Why not forgive yourself for having taken offense? Pull the arrow out and toss it into the nearest waste receptacle where it belongs. Unforgiveness is such a waste.

Better yet, shrug your shoulders. Do not be so accepting of slights and hurts. Turn them away. Consider your heart a mansion you rent out. Choose the tenants you allow to move in. Slights and hurts can only tear up your house. Fill your mansion with love itself, and it will be filled with joy and laughter, and it will be a shining example to the world. It will be more than that. It will be happy.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, February 20th, 2009 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“Faith is the calm energy of positive expectancy and knowing that you are “6kay.” Many people must see a thing before they are assured of its arrival; others can simply ask for a thing, and have faith that it is accomplished. Many people become impatient and anxious when they can not see what they want, or cannot see how it could possibly come to pass. This feeling of impatience and anxiety, or maybe even fear or worry, is the opposite of faith; it is the opposite of the feeling you need in order to manifest positive experiences. You will still manifest experiences, however, with or without positive expectancy – all thought is creative. You will attract a reflection of the energy you are feeling. Relax; be happy; and have faith in your good coming to pass – regardless of circumstances.”

“We have the tendency to make assumptions about everything. The problem with making assumptions – is that we “believe” they are the truth. We could swear they are real. We make assumptions about what others are doing or thinking – we take it personally – then we blame them and react by sending emotional poison with our word.

That is why whenever we make assumptions, we’re asking for problems. We make an assumption, we misunderstand, we take it personally, and we end up creating a whole big drama for nothing. It is always better to ask questions than to make an assumption, because assumptions set us up for suffering.”

“Saying no to what you do want is the same as saying yes to what you don’t want. It is a sellout. Whenever you do not honor your inner truth, you get jumbled up inside until you go back and express the truth you stifled.

We deny our desires for dysfunctional reasons: guilt; a sense of unworthiness; fear of success; desire to appear unselfish; resistance to move beyond a familiar self-image or lifestyle; self-sabotage; and peer or family pressure. Don’t waste a moment analyzing or justifying your motivation. If your heart pulls you in a direction, heed its joy as soon as you know it. Life is unlimited in its ability to support you. When you become unlimited in your willingness to support yourself, you will receive all that life has to offer.”

“Life is a banquet. And the tragedy is that most people are starving to death. That’s what I’m really talking about. There’s a nice story about some people who were on a raft off the coast of Brazil perishing from thirst. They had no idea that the water they were floating on was fresh water. The river was coming out to sea with such force that it went out for a couple of miles, so they had fresh water right there where they were. But they had no idea. In the same way, we’re surrounded with joy, with happiness, with love. Most people have no idea of this whatsoever.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, February 16th, 2009 by Neale Donald Walsch in FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD

“The point is, you have not been damaged by others in your life who did what you wish they had not done, or who didn’t do what you wish they had.

I tell you this – again: I have sent you nothing but angels. These people all brought you gifts, wonderful gifts designed to help you remember Who You Really Are. And you have done the same for others. And when you all get through with this grand adventure, you will see that clearly, and you will thank each other.

I tell you, the day will come when you will review your life and be thankful for every minute of it. Every hurt, every sorrow, every joy, every celebration, every moment of your life will be a treasure to you, for you will see the utter perfection of the design. You will stand back from the weaving and see the tapestry, and you will weep at the beauty of it.

So love each other. Every other. All others. Even those you have called your persecutors. Even those you have cursed as enemies. Love each other, and love yourself. For God’s sake, love yourself. I mean that literally. Love your Self, for God’s sake.”

“Much trust is required in Human life. Whether you trust or not makes no difference while at the same time, it makes all the difference in the world. Trust is confidence. It is not flying blind. It is following a flight plan. It’s just that you do not see the plan. How my children want to predict everything. How much they want to follow numbered spaces and connecting lines.

Let Me assure you that walking without boundaries is not aimless. It is purposeful. You know the purpose, which is to find Me. It’s just that you do not know the specific course.

There is a line on the horizon that is imaginary. When you reach the horizon, it has moved. There never was a line. The horizon moves as if on waves. And that is how you move as well. You walk an escalator of life, except the escalator you walk on is curved. You walk it, and it moves. You ride on it as you walk. You follow the escalator. You do not decide its path. All the way the escalator guides you.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, February 13th, 2009 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“With religion, large groups of people are brought together with a commonly taught belief. These groups believe, among other things, that they share the same beliefs. Since no two people see exactly the same things, however, no two people could share exactly the same view, or the same belief, for that matter. We can say that we basically see things in a similar light, and that our view is radically different than what can be seen from over there; so we are more alike than different, and they are more different than alike. So we come to an agreement to wear the same masks so we can separate ourselves from those with different views, instead of trying to see what the rest of God’s creatures are looking at.

There is nothing wrong with this; but it should illustrate that, if you are joining together with some people, there are many more that you are not joining with. Since all light has the same source, you are choosing sides based on some difference between you that you see only on the surface – a superficial belief. The only difference between you and them is the masks you wear for underneath all masks there is only light. Religion, therefore, seems to be more focused on wearing the right mask, and wearing the same mask that everyone else is wearing.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, February 12th, 2009 by Wayne W. Dyer in MANIFEST YOUR DESTINY

“The tendency to bond with the wounds of our lives reminds us of how unworthy we are of receiving anything that we really would like, because we remain in a state of suffering. The more these painful stories are recalled and repeated, the more the person is guaranteed of not attracting his or her desires.

Perhaps the most powerful sentence you can memorize in this regard is “Your biography becomes your biology.” And I would add, “Your biology becomes your lack of spiritual fulfillment.” By hanging onto the traumas of your earlier life, you literally have an impact on the cells of your body. When we examine the biology of an individual, we find that his or her biography is close to the surface. Thoughts of anguish, self-pity, fear, hate and the like all take their toll on the body and the spirit. After a while, the body is unable to heal, largely because of these thoughts.”

“The most profound learning you do happens when you find yourself reacting strongly to what someone else says or does. While the tendency in this situation is to focus on the other person’s behavior, the truth is that your reaction has nothing to do with the other person. You reaction shows where you are in conflict, not where the other person is.

All conflict comes from some kind of guilt or insecurity you are feeling. If you are feeling insecure about your intelligence and someone comes along and calls you stupid, your buttons get pushed. The reaction comes from your insecurity. The trigger is incidental. Anyone could push your buttons.”

“Usually when we forgive, we are acknowledging that whomever we’re forgiving has done a wrong, which is probably true. Then, even though we say we forgive, we secretly hold on to the dastardliness of the wrong. Yet true forgiveness is about no longer holding onto or stewing over (focusing on) the thing that got us all riled up to begin with. And that holds true whether it happened five minutes or fifty years ago. Why? Because unless we let it go, we’ll keep getting more of it, that’s why. If we hold on to it, it’s in our vibration. And if it’s in our vibration, we’re either going to attract it, or something similar in vibration. Over and over.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, February 9th, 2009 by Marianne Williamson in EVERYDAY GRACE

“According to A Course in Miracles, our job is to tell someone they’re right, even when they’re wrong. That doesn’t means we’re supposed to lie. It does mean, however, that it’s always our mission to affirm someone’s humanity, even when we’re disagreeing with his or her perceptions. Our spiritual challenge in any situation is to first recognize a person’s love and innocence, and then to speak from that perspective. For it is not our disagreements that wound; it’s our criticism, attack, and blame that wound. Until we know we’re on loving ground – past the temptation to even subtly blame – we had best be very careful with what we say and how we say it. Some words cut, while others heal.”

“Harken to messages today because you have a great one coming. This idea alone will wake you up. You are going to have a revolution of thought. That means that an insight within you, long dormant, will awaken. It will be awakened by an outside event or an outside word. You will have a recognition of something, and this recognition will lighten your life. It is as if you run through the streamer that signals the winning of a race, only this streamer signals the beginning of another, for you are ever anew.

Be watchful today of all that surrounds you and comes into your awareness. The message you receive today may be coded, and you are the one to unlock it.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, February 6th, 2009 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“There is no limit to the miracles we can experience in life. The fact is we have gotten so used to miracles that it takes amazing spectacles of universal movement to impress us. What I mean, for example, is that each breath we take is an unexplainable miracle of unimaginable significance. Medicine and science may be able to observe, describe, and even affect to some degree, the physical activity that accompanies the process of respiration; but we may never know, however, how or why that particular miracle occurs.

Childbirth, trees, and where art and music come from, are just a few of the everyday miracles we simply cannot explain. But we take these things for granted, or simply ignore them, because we don’t understand them. We integrate these things into our lives without fully appreciating their significance. Then, we expect “real” miracles to be performed on command before we accept the existence of a higher power – or before we truly believe in one. The adage, “If you can’t take care of what you have, what makes you think you need more?” comes to mind. If we can’t even acknowledge the miracles that surround us in plain sight, what makes us think we’d recognize a miracle in an unfamiliar setting, or scenario?”

“Our culture’s fascination with romantic love is really quite pervasive. If you have any doubt about this, just listen to many of the most popular songs during the past 100 years or more, and you’ll hear all kinds of lyrics about how badly someone needs someone else. For example, “Baby I need your lovin,” or “If you leave me now, you’ll take away the biggest part of me,” etc. We are literally bombarded with this type of programming in music, and in films, books and TV shows as well. As such, it’s not surprising that so many people develop the belief that they NEED a romantic partner in their life.

The reality is that whenever you approach a love relationship from a position of need, you’’re putting yourself into a very uneasy position. Think about it, if you come to believe that you truly need another person to be fulfilled, you can never rest easy because there’s always the possibility they may have a change of heart and leave, or worse yet, die. That’s why the age-old advice that we should first be able to live happily on our own is so very practical.”
