BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, March 12th, 2009 by Neale Donald Walsch, in CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD, BOOK 1

“God says it’s okay to be happy – yes, even happy in your work. Your life work is a statement of Who You Are. If it is not, why are you doing it? Do you imagine that you HAVE to? You don’t have to do anything.

If “man who supports his family, at all costs, even his own happiness” is Who You Are, then love your work, because it is facilitating your creation of a living statement of Self. If “woman who works at job she hates in order to meet responsibilities as she sees them” is Who You Are, then love, love, love your job, for it totally supports your Self image, your Self concept.

Everyone can love everything the moment they understand what they are doing, and why. No one does anything he/she doesn’t want to do.”

God, as spoken to Neale Donald Walsch, in “Conversations with God, Book 1”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 by John St. Augustine in LIVING AN UNCOMMON LIFE

“Most of us have fallen into the trap of living backwards. The common life is defined as one that goes like this: Have it do itbe it. In other words, the things you “have” define what you “do” and that “creates” who you are. This commerce-centered existence says that if you have enough of the right things – houses, jeans, Ferraris, watches, friends – and do enough of the right things – perfect job, work out, run for office, hit the sales goal – you can be what you want to be. So, how’s it working for you so far? That’s what I thought.

The path to finding your voice involves reversing the order. “Being” just as you are comes first – with no strings attached – the good, the bad and the ugly…Yeah, it takes work, but here’s the cool part: once you reverse the order, the more you “be” and the less you “do,” the more you’ll “have.”

John St. Augustine, in “Living an Uncommon Life”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 by Stuart Wilde in INFINITE SELF

“In the olden days, the idea was that individuals were too weak and sinful to have a meaningful dialogue with God. So, systems were developed whereby people had to use a third party to communicate with God. Once you had a third party, then all the rules, guilt, and obligations came into play. Now we have a system where there are millions of people on the earth plane who believe that the God Force is within them and they are spiritually free, while others still believe they are weak and that God is outside of them, so they need someone to intercede on their behalf.

It doesn’t mean that you can’t be part of a church if you want to be. But control is a very old-fashioned idea, so it had better be a liberal church. Some people enjoy the camaraderie, the friendship, the music, the hymns and the hers, they like begin taught by a knowledgeable holy man or woman. Fair enough – if that’s what you’re into. But the thing to remember is that most of these systems are NOT designed to set you free.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, March 9th, 2009 by Rosanna Ienco in AWAKENING THE DIVINE SOUL

“Have you ever been in a situation where you thought you must have had a guardian Angel by your side? You most likely did – Angels surround and protect us all the time. They are here to help us fulfill our hopes and desires. Pay attention to their messages by looking for the signs. You may see little sparkles of light, a colored mist or an aura. The one I find most fascinating is when they appear in the form of clouds shaped like Angel wings. We can get so preoccupied with the routine of life that we forget to connect with that higher place. Simply speak to them and invite them into your life. If you stay open to hearing the messages, you will surely have a story to share.”

“There are multitudes of ancient writings warning against passing judgment. There are definite negative affects which are brought about by passing judgment. Scriptures that warn us to “Judge not,” or to “do unto others,” are intended to help us avoid activities which will weaken us, shorten our lives, or hamper our ability to effect changes in our life through this very natural mechanism of prayer. These are exhortations for us to strive for the best we can achieve in life – to be the best possible person we can be and to achieve the best possible existence. Prayer, or mindful, directed thought, is the key to achieving these things.

So, why pray? Why not pray!? It is your life and it is your choice; build the life you want in your mind, and then live it in your reality. The only limitations are those in your mind.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, March 5th, 2009 by Arnold Patent in YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL

“Society teaches us that success equals ownership of many things. This overlooks the universal principle that no one can own anything. The only way to truly enjoy anything is to let go of it. If you notice that something stays around, then you know it is perfect for you to experience it and enjoy it. If it leaves, you know something else is more perfect for you to experience, at this time.

“Letting go in order to have” is a key concept. It requires a lot of practice. It does not mean we have to divest ourselves of everything. It is strictly perceptual. It means “letting go of the perceived NEED to keep or own any and all of our assets.”  Practice it until it really does not make any difference what, if anything, you own. One of the major benefits of reaching this state is that you will not be disappointed or feel loss when the item is gone.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED

“According to Conversations with God, Book 2, God is giving us guidance every minute of every day. The challenge for you, then, is to discern which of the thousands of feelings, thoughts, and words passing through your consciousness each day actually originate from God. In that regard, generally the best way to distinguish a Divine message is that it tends to be like a whisper rather than a shout, and it usually follows the first impression you receive. The key is to make best efforts to pay close attention to all of your feelings, thoughts and experiences, and then take some time to reflect on them instead of making your decisions impulsively.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009 by Dan Millman in EVERYDAY ENLIGHTENMENT

“Thoughts are like bubbles in the sea – you you may cup your hands and hold some underwater, but eventually they rise to the surface. Practices such as counting your breaths or reciting a particular prayer or mantra create a moment-to-moment concentration on one idea to the exclusion of others. But if your attention wavers for an instant, the thoughts rise to the surface. Positive thinking strategies are, like methods for quieting the mind, based on wishful thinking rather than on a realistic understanding. You don’t have to control your thoughts; you just have to stop letting them control you.

There is another, more radical to the problem of the mind: LET IT BE. Make peace with and accept it as it is. No need to fix or quiet it or do anything else about it. The mind is like a barking dog. You don’t have to get rid of the dog. After all, dogs naturally bark. Focus instead on directing your attention to what you are doing and let the dog bark. Let your thoughts be whatever they are, positive or negative, and get on with life. Learn self-compassion; make peace with your mind.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, March 2nd, 2009 by Karol K. Truman in FEELINGS BURIED ALIVE NEVER DIE

“Mainstream thinking has purported that to become single-minded a person needs to change the way he FEELS by changing the way he THINKS. It is possible to change the way we FEEL by changing the way we THINK. However, before we can do this, our perception of a situation, our feeling, or our belief must change before our thinking can change…

Conversely, changing the way we THINK by changing the way we FEEL is faster, much more effective, and further reaching. In our beginnings as a baby, FEELINGS came first when we had no way of expressing what we needed or wanted through words. The feelings we experienced during infancy and throughout our childhood which we were unable to express, are well established, longstanding feelings which naturally registered in the DNA and the subconscious part of our mind/body. These feelings are what now cause us to think and react in life the way we do. In other words, these feelings have helped create the beliefs and attitudes that motivate our everyday behavior and give us the effects in life that we experience. Bottom line – feelings are what make us tick!”

PONDER on THIS for Sunday, March 1st, 2009 by Gloria Wendroff in HEAVENLETTERS

“One who must exert control feels that others are out to control him and take away his freedom. But his dependence upon controlling costs him his freedom. He assumes control at the expense of life. He is entrapped in his fears.

Better to be fearless. No more worrying that someone will take advantage of you. Come from a different platform so that you desire can flow to you. Fear tenses you and often blocks the good already on its way to you. Your fears tend to make you haunt or stalk that which you would keep away. You keep your finger on a page that you don’t want to bookmark.

You were not born to lack. You were born for abundance. You were not born to fear. You were born to be confident. Instead of getting ready for what you fear, get ready for what you want. Great joy is yours, and it is coming to you. Set your sites on it.”

“People are often consumed, or driven, by a goal, destination, or an outcome. This is the proverbial finish line many are trying to reach. Unfortunately, when life becomes centered on a destination, thing, or an accomplishment, it ceases to be life – at least in any meaningful sense. We are often so focused on a particular outcome that we are blinded to all else – especially repercussions of that outcome. A small child focuses on bouncing a ball off the outside of a house to the exclusion of any thoughts of a broken window, or any consequences that may follow, for instance.

Likewise, scientists strive to complete a project that will produce a new weapon, or some other potentially lethal device, with little thought given to the day after their project is complete. They focus on a “successful” outcome, or on an arbitrary completion date, but spend little time considering life on a planet where such horrible devices exist!”

“Meditation need not be complicated. Some will tell you that nothing less than sitting cross-legged in the lotus position, ohm’ing yer ohms in the temple, will do. In fact, any meditation which is painful or uncomfortable to perform is distracting in my view. Okay, so you’ve got your robes on and you can stick your toe in your ear, big deal. Excuse me! What’s it for?

Anyway, there you are, all contorted, and everyone can see how incredibly spiritual you are. And you’re sitting there as pleased as punch – mega holy-moly while the God Force slips away quietly to throw up. Any time you have to put on a performance so people can see your spirituality, you’ve lost the plot. Any ol’ meditation style is just fine; it doesn’t have to be a great performance unless you want it that way.”

“Intuition talks to you in present time. Through urges, flashes of ideas, insights and feelings, intuition moves you in certain directions. To hear it, pay attention to your inner world of ideas and feelings. If you are forcing yourself to do one thing while your feelings are urging you to do something else, you are not paying attention to your intuition. Your intuition sends you messages constantly, telling you every moment what to do to open your energy. It is always directing you towards aliveness and a higher path.”

“Religion has constantly given man the promise of salvation in an afterlife. But it has sadly neglected giving him any practical, usable knowledge by which he can live this life in health and success and happiness. Neither are the great spiritual revivals any real answer to the long-term needs of man and society. The revival meeting stirs up renewed faith in the “Savior of the world,” calling attention again and again to the divinity of Jesus. But the world needs a society of saviours, individuals who come alive with the divine forces within them, and who become a saving influence by letting the light of their own divinity shine bright and clear.”

“Can you imagine your reality if you were brought up in an environment free of doubt? How would your life be different if you had never heard, “It can’t be done,” “That’s not possible,” “Accept your limitations”? What if you had been encouraged to exercise the energy of your mind? You might have used that energy to explore your power to influence other beings, things, the weather, your creativity.

That may sound a bit weird to you. But remember, you are assessing the possible and the impossible with doubts that automatically creep in when anyone suggests something you believe to be outlandish or absurd. If you had been fortunate enough to be raised without doubt you would possess an incredible inner sense of your magnificence.”
