PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 by Rhonda Byrne in THE SECRET

Action is a word that can imply “work” to some people, but inspired action will not feel like work at all. The difference between inspired action and action is this: Inspired action is when you are acting to receive. If you are in action trying to make it happen, you have slipped backward. Inspired action is effortless, and it feels wonderful because you are on the frequency of receiving.

Imagine life as a fast-moving river. When you are acting to make something happen it will feel as if you are going against the current of the river. It will feel hard and like a struggle. When you are acting to receive from the Universe, you will feel as if you are flowing with the current of the river. It will feel effortless. That is the feeling of inspired action, and of being in the flow of the Universe and life.”

“An old adage says, “God has a plan for every person, and God has one for you,” and this is absolutely correct. Your real problem, therefore, in fact the only problem that you ever have, is to find your true place in life. Find that, and everything else will follow almost automatically. Until you do find your true place in life, however, you never will be really happy, no matter how much money or distinction you may acquire; and until you are happy, you will neither be healthy or free.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, October 6th, 2008 by Marianne Williamson in THE GIFT OF CHANGE

“Most of us – all of us, in fact, except the enlightened masters – live to some extent in a state of “love withhold.”‘ We are waiting to see if a person is good enough to receive our kindness, our generosity, or our love. People hardly have dates anymore; we have auditions. We think we need to understand a person to see whether they are worthy of our love, but in fact, unless we love them we cannot understand them.

Someone’s religion, looks, financial status, professional position – so many things are used by the ego to dictate who is worthy or appropriate for us. Yet God would have us keep our hearts open to people as a matter of faith. And any faith that has us close our hearts to anyone is not a genuine faith in God.”

“If you get fired you may not have asked for that; but you may have asked for a better job, more money, or nicer coworkers, and just haven’t had the inspiration to go get it. Now you do. Clearly, I can’t enumerate all the combinations of events that can form answers to prayers. No man can; and God does work in mysterious ways that are way beyond any knowing. In fact, you may never be able to see such connections with some events. But you will begin to notice; and if you work on it, you will see these connections most of the time. You will become one with this process and see your true place in it all. You are not a victim – you are a creator. Recognize this, acknowledge the works of God in your life, and you will truly experience a life of fullness.”

“Cycles are the natural order of life, like the four seasons that follow one another in endless rounds. Hardship and pleasure alike will pass in time, for whatever rises will fall, and whatever falls will rise again in one or another form. This is the nature of the world. We cannot control the cycles of life, but we can ride them like bucking horses or flowing waves. By accepting our own changing seasons we move in harmony with the cycles of our world.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 by Eckhart Tolle in A NEW EARTH

“How to be at peace now? By making peace with the present moment. The present moment is the field on which the game of life happens. It cannot happen anywhere else. Once you have made peace with the present moment, see what happens, what you can do or choose to do, or rather what life does through you. There are three words that convey the secret of the art of living, the secret of all success and happiness: One With Life. Being one with life is being one with Now. You then realize that you don’t live your life, but life lives you. Life is the dancer, and you are the dance.”

“What does it feel like to remember your soul’s task? When the deepest part of you becomes in engaged in what you are doing, when your activities and actions become gratifying and purposeful, when what you do serves both yourself and others, when you do not tire within but seek the sweet satisfaction of your life and your work, you are doing what you were meant to be doing. The personality that is engaged in the work of its soul is buoyant. It is not burdened with negativity. It does not fear. It experiences purposefulness and meaning. It delights in its work and in others. It is fulfilled and fulfilling.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, September 29th, 2008 by Sanaya Roman in SPIRITUAL GROWTH, BEING YOUR HIGHER SELF

“To create things more rapidly, focus on the essence of what something will give you rather than its form. For instance, if you want a new car or home, focus on what you want to get out of having them. You may want a new car to give you reliability and new home to give you more space, and so on. You can begin to create the essence of what you want right now. You can work with your existing car to make it more reliable; and perhaps you can clear out a corner of a room to create more space in your current home. By making your old car more reliable, you become more magnetic to a new, reliable car.

Ask what is the essence you expect to get from losing weight, having a new soul-mate, or whatever else you want. As you focus on the essence of what you want, you discover that there are many ways you can have the essence right now. When you bring the essence of what you want into your life, you become more magnetic to the specific form you want it to come in as well.”

PONDER on THIS for Sunday, September 28th, 2008 by Richard Bartlett in MATRIX ENERGETICS

“Every treatment in medicine, including most so-called natural alternatives, is reaction to a symptom or a condition. This symptom/treatment duality means that you have this condition (symptom), and I am going to prescribe treatment for that condition. It is a stimulus-response or behaviorist model at its core, largely extrapolated from laboratory studies on rats. But how many of you reading this think rat physiology and biochemistry are close enough to those of human beings that our medical health-care should be based on them?

One of the greatest problems that I have noticed in the treatment of symptoms from within this stimulus-response model is that anything you do in reaction to a condition tends to add energy into sustaining the unwanted state. If you address a condition by treating it, you devote more attention to its existence, thus validating its reality. When you do this you make the condition itself more linear, predictable, and ultimately more self-aware. That, I am sure, is exactly what we don’t want: for our conditions to be more self-aware.”

Richard Bartlett, D.C., N.D., in “Matrix Energetics”

Compiler’s Note: This is a fascinating book that effectively creates a paradigm shift in how we approach the entire concept of health and healing. Although parts of the book are highly metaphysical in nature, the author’s presentation of the content is not overly complex and his conversational writing style makes the work very entertaining.

“Our gift is free-will. This simply means that we can choose our thoughts; for you can not choose a feeling, or an action, without thinking first – or without choosing to think. Our only decision from one moment to the next is what thought to place our attention on. Focused, concentrated attention to our fondest wishes defines any prayer – and we all have the power to choose when and where to focus our attention.

Consider that when you pray, all you are doing is concentrating your thoughts for a brief period of time – usually to give thanks, and ask for help for yourself or someone else. What if you concentrated for more than a few moments? What if you chose to spend time thinking about what you wanted instead of the problems in your life? What if you could learn to not worry about things you cannot change or control? Choose better thoughts and your life will change for the better. All thought is prayer; all prayers are answered – so choose your thoughts wisely!”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, September 25th, 2008 by Marianne Williamson in ILLUMINATA

“Religious institutions are not the only arbiters of religious experience. They do not own the Truth, for Truth cannot be owned. Nor should they think they hold some franchise on our spiritual life. They are consultants and frameworks, but they are not God Itself. We should not confuse the path with the destination.

It’s simplistic to think that many Americans turned away from organized religion and now we’re back, as though that’s the whole story. We turned away from religion, found that life without conscious awareness of God is difficult, and we’re now back to religion because that is, theoretically, where to find God. But we do not go back as the spiritually half-interested, complacent congregants that many of our parents were when we were growing up. We go back with an interest in actually HAVING a religious experience.

Organized religion will not be the same; it will step up to bat, religiously, or it will wither away. Organized religious institutions are in for a huge transformation, for the simple reason that people have become genuinely religious in spite of them.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 by Asara Lovejoy in THE ONE COMMAND

“You have a thought and a desire of something that you want or something that you believe, and as you emotionally place your attention on those thoughts, they activate all of your body, mind, and spirit to be in compliance. Energetically, at all times, you are thinking unconscious thoughts that are driving your wants and needs. Your thinking continues while awake or asleep. A belief is an idea about you and others, and about the world that creates the lens of your focus.

If you are thinking a limiting thought, then that is the only thought that may be made manifest as a reflection of you. If you are focused on a greater idea, then that idea must manifest instead.

When you have a thought, limited or expansive, and the desire for some good, or a fear of something bad, you are radiating that thought out into all dimensions of your being and in consciousness to the world. When you are radiating your thoughts with your emotional feelings about what you desire or fear, then those emotional thoughts reach every level of your being, from the DNA to your Source Mind.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, September 22nd, 2008 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in REAL MAGIC

“You are capable of having a conversation with yourself before you open your mouth to make someone else wrong. A simple reminder to yourself that goes like this: “I know how I feel about this and I know that it doesn’t match how she feels, but so what. It is enough that I know it in my mind, I have no need to make her feel wrong.” Then stifle yourself and you have created a miracle right there. You have replaced a potential conflict with a loving response. Remember, no one, including yourself, wants to be proven wrong. You know you dislike it, so honor that place in others as well, and give up the need to take the credit or to show how superior you are.”

PONDER on THIS Special Message for Sunday, September 21, 2008 by Anthony DeMello S.J. in WAKE UP TO LIFE

Recently I took the opportunity to listen again to an audio series called “Wake Up to Life” by the late Fr. Anthony DeMello. In doing so I was struck by the following statement he made: “The reality is there is too much God talk; the world is sick of it, and sick from it. There is too little awareness, too little love, too little happiness. That’s what the world is suffering from, not from a lack of religion.” When I took a moment to ponder on that observation I couldn’t help but agree with him.

Billions of people on this planet are absolutely certain they know who or what God is, and these “God-concepts” are what primarily lead to all the religious strife and violence in the world. Some are so convinced of their concept they’ll even kill themselves for it, and kill others as well, all for a belief they learnedfrom someone else but in the vast majority of instances never personally experienced. And, this has been going on for centuries. It’s really amazing when you stop and rationally think about it.

On the audio Fr. DeMello also includes this quote from St. Thomas Aquinas, one of the most revered of Christian saints: “About God, we cannot say what He is, but rather, what He is NOT.” In other words, the highest form of knowledge of God is to know God as the unknown. Or taking it a step further, the highest form of talking about God is to know that one does not know. According to DeMello, the fact is we are all surrounded by God, but we don’t see God because we all think we know about him, and the terrible thing about religions is they think they know as well.

Based on all the religious-based violence on this planet, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had a world where instead everybody just said, “We don’t know.”
