BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, May 4th, 2015 by Alan Cohen in THE DRAGON DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE

“We have within our very minds, hearts, and hands the power to heal and to transform the world. One kind word, look, or touch can make all the difference to a brother or sister in need of love. It is said that “if everyone loved each other, the earth would shine brighter than the sun.” If every one of us would do one little kind act for another person on just one day, I believe the earth would be redeemed instantly.

It would release such a powerful energy of light and love that the forces of darkness, in the form of pollution, weapons, and hatred, would immediately disburse. Such a day would set into motion a snowball of service that could cleanse the earth of all the negative karma that has ever been accumulated, and release the spirit of hope and giving throughout the universe so that every planet in every galaxy would reap its benefit. “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.” If this indeed be a dream, then let us dream it together, for dreams are the stuff that life is made of.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, May 1st, 2015 by Neale Donald Walsch in THE NEW REVELATIONS

“You can be peaceful no matter what the outer world is doing…and the wonderful irony of this is that what the outer world is doing will very often be affected by what you are being.

How do you remain peaceful when the world is demonstrating anything but peace? Loving, when the world is demonstrating everything but love? Forgiving, when the world is demonstrating everything but forgiveness? “You insist on being who you are” no matter what the rest of the world is being.

Slowly, the world you touch will change. Now imagine what would happen if everyone did this. Yet you cannot insist on being who you are if you do not “know” who you are. Thus, the decision must be made “ahead of time.”

Remember this always: What you are being is who you are. You are not what you are doing. You are a human, BEING.”

God, as spoken to Neale Donald Walsch, in “The New Revelations”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, April 30th, 2015 by Wayne W. Dyer in WISDOM OF THE AGES

“Contemplate your physical self and all its possessions, and practice laughing peacefully at it all. Time has only leased them to you. As you read the poetry of the greats who preceded you here, this theme will crop up repeatedly. The battle is often perceived as being between death and life, chance and choice. And yes, time and eternity. Yet you are here now and you can stop perceiving it as a battleground. Instead make peace with time. Laugh at its work, and know your laughter does not make you a victim. Observe from your eternal perspective that the observer is immune to time.”

Wayne W. Dyer, in “Wisdom of the Ages”

“We have got to challenge the agreements that we hold to be true. We must boldly ask, “Do I believe this because I really believe this, or because everyone else does?” I am amazed to find out how much of our belief systems are unfounded, adopted from the norms of others. So often I see children taking on the beliefs, values, and expectations of their parents or some figure that they idolize. They are living out someone else’s thoughts. This usually brings reinforcement from the world, for other people just love for us to do what they do.

If you have an inspiration for a project that seems to fly in the face of agreed-upon reality, then test it! Those who laugh at you or criticize you do so only out of misunderstanding or a sense of threat; you may demonstrate the fragile nature of the values which they hold so dear. Assume that God Himself/Herself is showing you a new possibility, and if He/She is, your venture will be borne out.”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, April 28th, 2015 by Richard A. Singer in YOUR DAILY WALK WITH THE GREAT MINDS

“You may not realize the enormous amount of success you have achieved in your lifetime. Human beings tend to allow society to define success; however, what does society perceive success as? The man who hits home runs or the individual who offers food to a homeless person? The lawyer who defends the guilty criminal or the counselor who passionately helps suffering human beings? Sports professionals are paid millions of dollars, how much do front-line helping professionals make? Which headline is likely to be on a newspaper? “Giants Win the Super Bowl” or “Unknown Man Helps Handicapped Man Cross”?”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, April 27th, 2015 by Michael Tamura in YOU ARE THE ANSWER

“Crises are sent to shake us out of our slumber, to re-awaken a sense of purpose. Too often, we become so preoccupied with our vested interests that we forget why we are here. We fall asleep. Then, Life gives us a wake-up call. We’ve all had them. Whether they’ve been life-threatening situations, financial disasters, emotional upheavals, or relationship conflicts, they remind us that we are ignoring, or have forgotten, what is most important in our lives. They make us ask again, “What am I here for?”

A wake-up call stops us dead in our tracks and commands our attention. It rattles us out of our mind-ruts and fixed behavior patterns rooted in ignorance and unconsciousness. If we’ve been selling our soul piecemeal to our fears and insecurities, burying ourselves ever deeper into trenches of resistance and denial, we can be certain the call will come again and again until we finally heed it…And when the call comes, how we respond to what happens is more important than whether or not we “caused” or “deserved” what happens. Life never dials a wrong number.”

“Some humans vehemently deny that images of violence – that movies and television shows of violence, that comic books and video games and the constant barrage of depictions of violence in every conceivable form – have any effect on human behavior. At the same time they pay “millions of dollars” to present “sixty seconds” of images in a Super Bowl commercial, precisely because they “do know how images affect human behavior.”

Based on your own clear sociological evidence, it would seem impossible to conclude that the violent images constantly placed before humans have nothing to do with their conceiving of violence as an acceptable means of resolving human conflict. And I tell you this: What you conceive, you receive.”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, April 23rd, 2015 by Paul Ferrini in THE SILENCE OF THE HEART

“I will tell you this plainly. You will not get out of here alive as a human being. The human must die that the divine be born. Not because it is bad. But because it is the shell that holds the spirit, the cocoon that holds the wings of the butterfly. But you do not have to wait until the moment of your physical death for the human to die. The human can die into the divine right now if you are willing to step into your divinity. If you are willing to stop playing the victim. If you are willing to stop resisting, defending, hiding, projecting shame and blame.

You cannot fly until you are willing to claim your wings. But once you do, you cannot remain in the dark shadows of your fear. It is your choice. How would you choose? What would you be: victim or angel?”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015 by Dan Millman in EVERYDAY ENLIGHTENMENT

“At each and every crossroads you are free to choose the high road – by being kind to others, working hard, finding supportive partners, and following good role models. Or you may choose the low road – by burning your bridges, using drugs, or choosing destructive relationships. Your sense of self-worth tends to influence whether you choose to learn easy lessons or difficult ones, to strive or to struggle, to cave in to difficulties or rise above them.

Coming to appreciate your worth can, in some cases, dramatically improve your circumstances by changing the choices you make and the actions you take. And as you begin to treat yourself with more respect, other people begin to do the same, since we subconsciously “train” others how to treat us through messages we send through body language, tone of voice, and other subtle cues and behaviors. Discovering your innate worth and living from that place allows you to make more constructive choices – to choose the higher roads of life.”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, April 21st, 2015 by Tony Burroughs in THE LAW OF AGREEMENT

“When you really stop to think about it, one of the humanity’s strangest predilections is that we look for confirmation for our ailments. We look to see what happened to everybody else who has experienced similar symptoms to ours, and in doing so, we put ourselves in harm’s way. What many people don’t realize is that just because somebody else developed a chronic condition after showing similar symptoms to ours doesn’t mean the same will happen to us.

We are dealing with toxic thoughts, substances, and experiences in our world that may or may not present us with short-term aches, pains, bumps, zits, and so forth. It’s a part of life nowadays. What we oftentimes forget, however, is that a great many of the things we think are “wrong” with us are only temporary. They’ll go away by themselves in a short time if we leave them alone. Sure, sometimes we’ll need to adjust our diet or our work habits for awhile, and that is natural. But it’s unnatural for us to look too deeply for confirmation or validation for the causes of our ailments. In fact, we run certain risks when we delve too deeply, parading every disease imaginable before us in a quest to find out the cause of an ache or pain.”

“Release owning or not owning. If you own some great piece of real estate, well, fair enough. But you don’t want the real estate to control you. You don’t want the thing to become a burden to you. If you buy a really fancy car, it sounds great. But, in reality, you’ve got to polish it, insure it, worry about it. How much energy are you putting into the car? It might be better that you have an old clunker you can leave anywhere with a little note on it saying, “Please steal me. I need the insurance money.”…When you don’t hold on, you’re free. The more tight-ass you are about “mine” the more money-grabbing you are and the less you have in the end. What’s the point of millions in the bank if you live a miserable life and die the world’s greatest tight-ass?”

“Listen to no human who declares himself or herself to be more special than anyone else. If a man or a woman seeks to set himself or herself separate and apart from the rest of humanity, or claims to be higher or better or holier than the rest of humanity, by declaring themselves to be “more than” or “greater than” others, or to be the messiah, or the savior, or the only true parents of humanity, or the only true prophet, or any other such exalted thing, run from them as fast as you can.

Yet if men and women declare themselves to me messengers of God even as you ALL are messengers of God, and saviors even as you ALL are saviors, and holy even as you ALL are holy, then listen to them carefully, for they will not tell you to follow “them,” but to follow the God who lives within you.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, April 16th, 2015 by Shakti Gawain in LIVING IN THE LIGHT

“The spirit always tends toward expansiveness, depth, greater energy, and aliveness. The form (ego/personality) always tends toward what it perceives to be safety, security, and the status quo, which is usually a deadening experience.

If you are able to observe yourself without rationalization or judgment you will begin to notice that when you trust yourself and follow your energy fully, you feel better. Conversely, when you follow you old patterns of fear and holding back, you feel worse. After awhile, your form gets the message clearly and begins to spontaneously follow the energy instead of the old pattern because it knows it will feel better. Eventually you have a form that automatically goes for the light in every situation, without having to think about it and control it.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, April 15th, 2015 by Eckhart Tolle in THE POWER OF NOW

“Identification with your mind creates an opaque screen of concepts, labels, images, words, judgments, and definitions that blocks all true relationship. It comes between you and yourself, between you and your fellow man and woman, between you and nature, between you and God. It is the screen of thought that creates the illusion of separateness, the illusion that there is you AND a totally separate “other.”

Thinking has become a disease. Disease happens when things get out of balance. For example, there is nothing wrong with cells dividing and multiplying in the body, but when this process continues in disregard of the total organism, cells proliferate and we have disease.

Note: The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive. To put it more accurately, it is not so much that you use your mind wrongly – you usually don’t use it at all. It uses YOU. This is the disease. You believe that you “are” your mind, this is the delusion. The instrument has taken you over.”

“When we lost our connection to the body, we lose one of our most important capacities for mindfulness. Right now, raise both of your arms out to your side. Close your eyes, and bring your arms slowly together until your palms touch. How were you able to know where your body was in space with your eyes closed? We possess a natural sense knows as proprioception, which is the ability to inwardly perceive the body’s spatial orientation in movement, moment by moment. Although you may largely live in your head, you can always return home to the body, the vital sense of being with which you took your first breath.”
