“Taking responsibility is a huge task. Most of us are willing to take responsibility for the good we create in our lives, but we often resist taking responsibility for the bad. When we take responsibility, we can be empowered by everything. Even if we feel ashamed by something that happens, we can find peace in the knowledge that somehow it’s helping each of us to fulfill our dreams or direct our soul’s journey. We can look at ourselves and say, “the world is my canvas and I drew this event into my life to teach myself a valuable lesson.” We become accountable for everything that happens. We say to the universe, “I am the source of my own reality.’ This is the place of power from which you can alter your life.”

“Many of you who work feel that you are not free, that in some way or another between the hours of nine and five you have given up your freedom. Freedom is an attitude. To experience freedom in this situation, it may be necessary to look at the larger picture. Why are you in this job? If it is for the money, remember that you freely chose this job to make money and that you are free at any time to find another way to make money.

You can create a sense of freedom from moment to moment by realizing that you are free to respond, act and feel any way you choose. You are free to speak, and take action within the framework of your job. There is always a level of freedom in everything you do. Look at where you are free. Focus on that freedom, and it will increase in your life.”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 18th, 2013 by Eliza Mada Dalian in IN SEARCH OF THE MIRACULOUS

“Trust your gut feeling and take risks by saying “no” to things that don’t feel right for you. The best way to practice surrendering to your inner power is to cultivate courage. Dare to be different and do what feels right even if others disagree with you. Watch how when you suppress your feelings of anger, resentment, insecurity, neediness, weakness, jealousy, or competitiveness you are diverting from surrendering to your own truth and power.

For example, if you usually agree with others out of fear of conflict, or because you don’t want to offend them, observe your thoughts and feelings that get triggered as a result. Ask yourself: Why am I compromising? Understand that no one is responsible for your choice to suppress your power – in spite of your fears and the possible consequences, courageously and honestly express what you truly feel. If you can live this way, you will not only give yourself a chance to live a more authentic life but will also become a source of inspiration to others.”

“Negative feelings are in YOU, not in reality. So stop trying to change reality. That’s crazy! Stop trying to change the other person. We spend all our time and energy trying to change external circumstances, trying change our spouses, our bosses, our friends, our enemies, and everybody else. We don’t have to change anything. Negative feelings are in YOU. No person on earth has the power to make you unhappy. There is no event on earth that has the power to disturb you or hurt you. No event, condition, situation, or person. Nobody told you this; they told you the opposite. That’s why you’re in the mess that you’re in right now. That is why you’re asleep. They never told you this. But it’s self-evident.”

“The word “intuition” means taught from within. Intuition goes much farther than reason. You employ reason to carry out intuition. Intuition is the spontaneous answer that wells up from your subconscious mind in response to your conscious thinking. For business and professional people, the cultivation of the intuitive faculty is of paramount importance. Intuition offers instantaneously that which the intellect or reasoning mind of man could accomplish only after weeks or months of monumental trial and error.

When our reasoning faculties fail us in our perplexities, the intuitive faculty sings the silent song of triumph. The conscious mind of man is reasoning, analytical, and inquisitive; the subjective faculty of intuition is always spontaneous. It comes as a beacon to the conscious intellect.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, July 15th, 2013 by David Viscott in EMOTIONALLY FREE

“Sorrow ages you prematurely. When you’re in emotional debt, you’re pessimistic about the future and, even in your green years, long to return to the past to remedy the shortfalls of love and opportunity you suffered. Sometimes you yearn for more caring, for more time with someone who is no longer here, for a chance to speak your mind and release your emotional burden, or just to resolve your confusion by finally discovering what really happened to you.

You can speculate, you can lament, you can yearn, but as much as you may wish to return and round off your emotional experience, you can never go home again. Your real home is in this place, at this time. The present is for action, for doing, for becoming, and for growing.”

“The truth is that whatever it is we’re wanting to fix, all the desperate things we think about doing will have precious little effect on influencing our experience. Nor does it matter HOW we do what we do, or how much, or how often, since most of our doing is initiated out of negative, flap-around energy rather than inspired, breeze-along activity.

Give us a situation we don’t like, and, depending on our nature, we do one of two things: we throw up our hands in frustrated resignation, bowing down to accept our fate, or we leap on our big white horse, as the Lone Ranger used to do, and gallop blindfolded (rather than masked) down the trail bellowing, “Hi Ho Silver, Awayyyyyy” to frantically search for some heroic action to overcome the dastardly injustice befallen us. Either way, all we’re doing is blowing up bigger what we’d like to blow out of our reality.

Does this mean we stop doing? Of course not. We just substitute inspired doing for wasted doing by stopping our constant knee-jerk responses to everything. Then, with our focus held enthusiastically on what we prefer in life, the right moves to make come TO us.”

“When we quiet the mind, we can choose to be open to what really is without instantaneously categorizing it and filling in the picture from a subconscious place. This is when the miracle happens, and we are present to experience it fully. The incessant, insane drive to be constantly distracted is ultimately based in the fear of cessation of our mere existence. Ironically, this is the very thing that keeps us dead. Hence, the saying by the Tibetan Buddhist: “Die before you die that you may truly live.” The enlightened one sees things as they are and accepts being in the moment unconditionally.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 10th, 2013 by Neale Donald Walsch in CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD BOOK 3

“Power without inner strength is an illusion. Inner strength without unity is a lie. A lie that has not served the race, but that has nevertheless deeply embedded itself into your race consciousness. For you think that inner strength comes from individuality and separateness, and that is simply not so. Separation from God and from each other is the cause of all your dysfunction and suffering. Still, separation continues to masquerade as strength, and your politics, your economics, and even your religions have perpetuated the lie.

This lie is the genesis of all wars and all the class struggles that lead to war; of all animosity between races and genders, and all the power struggles that lead to animosity; of all personal trials and tribulations, and all the internal struggles that lead to tribulations. Still, you cling to the lie tenaciously, no matter where you’ve seen it lead you – even as it has led you to your own destruction.

Now I tell you this: Know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. There is no separation. Not from each other, not from God, and from anything that is. Act as if you were separate from nothing, and no one, and you will heal your world tomorrow.”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, July 9th, 2013 by Lisette Larkins in DIFFICULT PEOPLE

“In order to awaken spiritually, you must become friendly with the present moment. Surrender to what is. This is the counterpoint to the mind’s demand for negative emotional reactions to never-ending minutia. Changes can still be made, but such changes are made while in the surrendered state of equanimity. This act of surrendering prior to attempting to make changes or impart correction increases the energy field and vibration of the physical body. This heightened energy field can actually be felt by sensitive individuals standing nearby.

The higher and faster the body’s energy field, the more resistant it is to illness and “contagious” negative moods of others. In addition, higher energy fields are pleasurable to be around, although most people would not be able to discern the reason for their attraction. Awakened individuals are often construed as likeable. They are simpler than most people because they have no false identity to uphold and thus are not seeking an advantage, or staving off misfortune.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, July 8th, 2013 by Stuart Wilde in INFINITE SELF

“Establishing your word as law is important. The mind is used to getting away with a lot of promises it never intends to keep. You tell yourself you’ll do this and that, and then you don’t. You promise to pay your friend on Saturday and then you forget, or you deliberately duck out of your obligation.

It’s important to establish your word as law unto yourself and others, because that in itself becomes an affirmation of your ever developing authority over the ego. If you say to yourself that you will do something, do it. Don’t make promises you won’t keep, and don’t make promises to others if you can’t or won’t follow through. Become immaculate. Be honorable. A life without honor is not worth having.”

Best of PONDER on THIS for Friday, July 5th, 2013 by Deepak Chopra in THE SEVEN SPIRITUAL LAWS OF SUCCESS

“When you become defensive, blame others, and do not accept and surrender to the moment, your life meets resistance. Any time you encounter resistance, recognize that if you force the situation, the resistance will only increase. You don’t want to stand like a tall oak that cracks and collapses in the storm. Instead, you want to be flexible, like a reed that bends with the storm and survives.

Completely desist from defending your point of view. When you have no point to defend, you do not allow the birth of an argument. If you do this consistently – if you stop fighting and resisting – you will fully experience the present, which is a gift. Someone once told me, “The past is history, the future is a mystery, and this moment is a gift. That is why this moment is called ‘the present’.”

“Most rarely align with their true power, because it seems illogical to them that there is power in relaxation, in letting go, or in love or joy or bliss. Most people do not understand that their true power lies in releasing resistance – which is the only obstacle to their true power.

Most people do not expect their path to great abundance to be one of ease and joy. They have been taught that struggle and hardship and sacrifice are requirements that must be met before the reward of great abundance can be realized. Most do not understand that the very struggle they deliberately involve themselves in, in their quest for success and advantage, actually works against them.

There are so many things that you have been taught to believe that are counter to the powerful Laws of the Universe that it is difficult for you to think your way out. And that is the reason we present this path of much less resistance.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013 by Bear Heart in THE WIND IS MY MOTHER

“Most of us have very little faith – we say we do until something difficult happens and then we feel everything is hopeless. We try and try, we struggle, yet we feel like giving up sometimes thinking, “Well, this is it, this is the end, this is as far as I go in life.” At times like that, go to the ocean and watch the waves come in. The tide has a steady rhythm, a tempo that’s never affected by the storms at sea. When the tide hits the shore it goes as far inland as it can, and when it reaches its zenith it is not the end, it’s merely a turning point.

It then flows back out to sea, to where there’s great strength and power. It doesn’t matter how strong the storms might be out there, it does not affect the rhythm of the ocean as it comes in and turns. In our struggles we may think we can’t go any further, not realizing that it is merely a turning point in our life. All power is available to us. You can turn things around in your life, live hopefully, and keep that hope going.”

“Let your spiritual practice be this: As you go about your life, don’t give 100 percent of your attention to the external world and to your mind. Keep some within…Feel the inner body even when engaged in everyday activities, especially when engaged in relationships or when you are relating with nature. Feel the stillness deep inside it. Keep the portal open. It is quite possible to be conscious of the Unmanifsted throughout your life. You feel it as a deep sense of peace somewhere in the background, a stillness that never leaves you, no matter what happens out here. You become a bridge between the Unmanifested and the manifested, between God and the world. This is the state of connectedness with the Source that we call enlightenment.”
