BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 11th, 2012 by Rich Work in AWAKEN TO THE HEALER WITHIN

“Thought is the most powerful energy in the universe. It is the fabric from which all things are made. Thought is “living energy.” Thought is prayer. It is for this reason that we choose prayer as the most powerful healing tool of all. We acknowledge the power of prayer, but often deny the power of thought. Our thoughts, our vows, our contracts, our agreements, are more binding than any rope that man/woman has ever made. Thought is energy. Energy is vibration. Vibration resonates at a frequency.

Each thought/vibration/frequency will affect our Being in one way or another. It can enhance our life-force energy, deplete our life-force energy, or just be compatible. The vibration of every thought, no matter how insignificant, will resonate throughout every part of your Being. You are much more than you see in the mirror every morning when you get up. You are mind, body, and spirit. You do not have a body here, a mind over there, and a spirit somewhere else. Each is an integral part, an inseparable part, of every aspect of your being.”

“To regain your integrity and authenticity you must develop the courage to surrender to your inner power. To do this, you must live according to your awareness and remain true to yourself even if others disagree with you. You must stay alert not to allow anyone, including your own mind, to manipulate or in any way control your inner truth. Only by surrendering to your inner power can you gather the courage to manifest your unique gifts and talents and be of help to others.

Surrendering to your inner power doesn’t mean imposing your will on others. It simply means not allowing your fears to stop you from doing what you need to do.”

“Whoever you are, God has not made you without a definite purpose in view. The Universe is a universe; that is, it is a unified harmony, a Divine Scheme. There can, therefore, be no such thing as a misfit, or an unwanted or unneeded piece. It could not happen that God could create a spiritual entity such as you are, without having a special purpose in view, and this means that there is a special and particular place in it for you.

God never repeats Himself, and so He has never made two people alike, and it is for this reason that no two people could ever do quite the same work, or express themselves in quite the same way. That is why, rightly understood, there really need be no competition.”

“Adopting the mindset that you do indeed cause/create all of the circumstances you experience in life, even if you don’t recall doing so consciously, opens the door to the potential for greater joy by removing you from the backwards-focused paralysis of blame. It also transports you into the now moment of responsibility, where you can actually take action to resolve problems and issues.

In that regard, I will never forget the following statement made during a presentation by a gifted motivational speaker named Brian Tracy: “Blame looks backward; responsibility is today.” What a simple yet powerful concept! Either you accept responsibility, which is focused in the present moment where solutions can actually be identified and implemented, or you stay mired in the past by pointing the finger of blame at other people, at yourself, at God, etc.”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 5th, 2012 by William L. Murtha in DYING FOR A CHANGE

Will Murtha: What you are saying is that we should always go inside of ourselves first, before we listen to everything that is external to us.

Voice of Higher Presence: Good, you are getting close to the core truth. By all means, observe another’s truth. Give respect, listen and filter through what most resonates with you. This is how you will arrive at your own centered place. But do not make the mistake of swallowing whole a concept that another is forcing down your throat. Use discernment, always, and then you will arrive at your truth. Remember, just because another person deeply inspires and motivates you, it is not a signal to give away your own power. To do so is foolish, not to mention self-deluded.

Will Murtha: This is what fundamentalists do, isn’t it? They completely surrender their own beliefs to something or someone they view as a higher authority.

Voice of Higher Presence: There is no higher authority. If you refer to “authority” as some untouchable, commanding and dominant force, then your whole understanding of the unseen and invisible is misconstrued. However, if you see this “higher force” as an energy extension of your own self, then you are correct. You are closer to the divine truth. The point I want to make is this: Never, ever give up your own power and integrity. For to do so will forever imprison your soul behind the gates of despair. Instead, always take care to listen to the higher truth resonating within you because it will always lead you back home.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 4th, 2012 by John Randolph Price in LIVING A LIFE OF JOY

“Going all the way back to Sanskrit, we find that the root word of God is “invoked.” Invoke means “to call forth, to summon.” So in this context, God is whatever we call forth and give power to. And that’s what some of us are doing – summoning the god of sickness to teach us wholeness, the god of scarcity to show us the truth of abundance, the god of unemployment to find our true place. That’s like inviting Dracula to teach a course on the positive benefits of sunshine.

What we must do is deal only with THE God the Almighty, the Father-Mother Supreme Being, our Creator Who is expressed as the True Self of everyone. Let’s put our attention on The God Within – that field of infinite, positive, ready-for-immediate-expression possibilities. This is not something separate from us; it is What we are. And in this energy field there are no problems because its nature – OUR nature – is perfect.”

“We view others through the grid of our past experiences, feelings, and thoughts. Usually we convince ourselves that our perceptions of them are objective and disconnected to any of our own issues. Consider, however, approaching your life as if other people were mirroring back to you
important information. If you accept this premise, then each encounter reflects back to you an opportunity to explore your relationship to yourself and to learn. Assume for a moment that the qualities you admire in others – their strengths, abilities, and positive attributes – are
really characteristics you have already embraced within yourself. You can therefore allow them to illuminate more clearly your own feelings of self-worth.

Conversely, you can view the people you judge negatively as gifts, presented to show you what you are not accepting about yourself. Imagine that every time you are angered, hurt, or
irritated by another, you are actually being given the opportunity to heal past incidents of anger, hurt, or irritation. Perhaps viewing weakness in others is an opportunity to extend the loving arms of compassion to them; or it could be the perfect moment to heal the unconscious judgment you have secretly harbored against yourself.”

“Can you imagine the relief when you don’t have to impress anybody anymore? Oh, what a relief. Happiness at last. You no longer feel the need or the compulsion to explain things anymore. What is there to be explained? And you don’t feel the need or compulsion to apologize anymore. I’d much rather hear you say, “I’ve come awake,” than hear you say, “I’m sorry.” I’d much rather hear you say, “I’ve come awake since we last met; what I did to you won’t happen again,” than to hear you say, “I’m so sorry for what I did to you.” Why would anyone demand an apology? You have something to explore in that. Even when someone supposedly was mean to you, there is no room for apology.

Nobody was mean to you. Somebody was mean to what he our she thought was you, but not to you. Nobody ever rejects you; they’re only rejecting what they think you are. But that cuts both ways. Nobody ever accepts you either. Until people come awake, they are simply accepting or rejecting this image of you. They’ve fashioned an image of you, and they’re rejecting or accepting that. See how devastating it is to go deeply into that. It’s a bit too liberating. But how easy it is to love people when you understand this. How easy it is to love everyone when you don’t identify with what they imagine you are or they are. It becomes easy to love them, to love everybody.”

“The term forgiveness is familiar to virtually all people, yet it is very likely that few truly understand its real meaning. Most individuals tend to regard forgiveness as being a truly magnanimous gesture on their part: one that is undertaken on behalf of the other person. Moreover, those individuals who, as rule practice forgiveness in their lives, tend to be viewed as upstanding human beings of great moral or spiritual fiber. While some folks may merit such lofty praise, the startling truth is that at its most fundamental level, forgiveness is more a selfish act than a noble one…

The reason for this is quite simple – a sincere act of forgiveness allows us to release negative energy (i.e., excessive levels of adrenaline, other stress hormones) that can literally become toxic to the cells within our bodies. This next passage from Discover the Power Within You by Eric Butterworth supports this very point:

“Actually, forgiveness is the simplest way to lighten our burdens. The man who forgives is no more saintly than one who insists upon keeping clean. In reality, the act of forgiveness constitutes a mental bath – letting go of something that can only poison us within.”

Whenever we are unwilling to forgive, what we are doing is wasting a portion of our valuable present moment energy on something that no longer exists, except within the confines of our own mind.”

“There is one thing for sure; if you have passion and zest for your work, you will be successful and rise to the top of whatever you do. Daily effort that correlates highly with your purpose in life lets you know that you are on the path created specifically for your unique soul. You have an innate purpose that you must discover in your life, which results in not “working” but living your ultimate purpose. This purpose becomes your life and transforms the way you exist. Find it and live it. This is your job that the Universe has hired you for.”

“Every situation is an opportunity to grow; everything that happens is giving you the opportunity to become stronger, wiser, and more loving. Everything that happens to you is for your higher good. Some situations offer you the opportunity to release an attachment or let go of an emotion that no longer serves you. Allowing your higher good means knowing deep inside that you are safe and loved and that your Higher Self is always working for you.

Start now to tell yourself that the Universe is perfect and that everything you do and everything that happens to you is perfect. As you grow spiritually, you will gain a greater understanding of why things are happening, and you will come to see the perfection in everything that occurs. From the perspective of today, you may be able to look back into the past and know that things you once interpreted as negative offered you growth and new beginnings.”

“Every single day the media shows us why we should be afraid to get out of bed. Turn off the TV and get about your business. The world is full of people worrying about how they are going to die – from what disease or accident, the victim of some stalker or freak event. Don’t be afraid of dying. Be terrified of not being fully alive while you have the chance. There are mountains to climb, books to write, diseases to cure, and hands to hold. If not by you, then by whom? And if not now…when?”

“All psychological problems are the result of our inability to express our feelings. We’re frightened. We don’t know how to express feelings, either negative or positive. We can speak about our problems, but not about feelings.

The inhibited person suffers from emotional constipation. Being in good physical condition requires internal generation, that is, that nutrients generate energy and what’s left be discarded. Nutrients have to pass through the body regularly. Likewise, the generation of feelings requires continual discharging. We must let it flow. Otherwise, the psychological buildup is poisonous.”

“Of the multitude of questions that arise in a person’s life, there is little doubt the most challenging one to find an answer for is, “Who am I?” It is likely that throughout all of recorded history, this single question has at one point or another at least crossed the mind of virtually every human being that has ever lived. While some people do seek an answer to this important question, the reality is most choose to push it out of their minds, for the simple reason that the act of contemplating upon who they really are actually serves to make life even more complicated than it already is! This tendency on the part of mankind to live “unexamined” lives is what the late Fr. Anthony DeMello was referring to when he said these words:

Most people, even though they don’t know it, are asleep. They’re born asleep, they live asleep, they marry in their sleep, they breed children in their sleep, and they die in their sleep without ever waking up. They never understand the loveliness and the beauty of this thing that we call human existence.

The desire to remain asleep is quite strong; the fact is it’s much easier to stay focused on the every day world than it is to pay attention to the whisperings of one’s soul. The process of waking up is very unpleasant for most people, because it requires that an individual be willing to seriously question the foundation of his or her entire belief system, including every one of his or her core beliefs about the very nature of existence.

While it may appear easier to just remain asleep, the truth is that avoiding introspection is never beneficial in the long run, for the calling of the soul is very powerful. The more you try to suppress it, the more challenging it becomes to experience true happiness in life. Therefore, the best course of action is to make the effort to wake up, to step outside of your so-called comfort zone, and be willing to explore previously uncharted territory, so that you may ultimately come to an understanding of who you really are.

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, June 21st, 2012 by Annemarie Greenwood and Marissa Campbell in LIFE: LIVING IN FULFILLMENT EVERY DAY

“The only guarantee in life is change. When you are lost in the promises of some distant future, waiting for the magical day when you will finally be happy, all your energy is draining toward some future event, with little left over for enjoying the here and now. You need to spend your energy wisely…by learning how to accept what is happening in your life right now. By making peace with your present circumstances, you will get a far greater return.

That’s not to say that your life at present is all bliss and flowers…You are working toward a future goal, which is a noble endeavor, but hoping that these actions will make you happier later is a waste of your energy, and it doesn’t help to make you any happier now. Accepting the present does not mean you give up any hope of changing your situation, but it does mean that in order to make any real change, you have to first accept where and who you are. Right here, right now!…We all think that the future out there is full of wondrous possibilities, but everything wonderful happens in the here and now.”
