PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, December 7th, 2010 by Dr. Tianna Conte in LOVES FIRE – BEYOND MORTAL BOUNDARIES

“Birth and death are the same. One is celebrated and one is feared. One is celebrated because it is known; one is feared because it is unknown…but both are about essence. One is essence taking on form and the other is essence leaving form behind, returning to Oneness. But both are the same.

The period of time between what is birth and what is death is called life. It is about experiences, experiencing many things, unfolding the truth of one’s nature, of expanding awareness of who you really are and the gifts you bring…discovering that love is a frequency, not an emotion. Only love is real. All else is appearance, a part of the illusion created by the senses, and the illusion of separation. Each person is in physical form to give and receive love, and so therefore expanding the truth of one’s being.

There are two portals through which the ego/personality can surrender its control from the filter of fear and access the Infinite. These are through experiences of agony and experiences of ecstasy, both of which force the ego to surrender so that the illusion of control is released. When agony and ecstasy are contained in the same experience and happen simultaneously, the topography of consciousness is forever changed. It’s in that moment that reality shifts, and life is never perceived the same.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, December 6th, 2010 by Shakti Gawain in LIVING IN THE LIGHT

The more we learn to operate in the world based on trust in our intuition, the stronger our channel will be and the more money we will have. The money in our life is based on our ability to listen to our inner guidance and risk acting on it. When your ego stops trying to control and you learn how to listen to the universe and act on it, then money increasingly comes into life. It flows in an easy, effortless, and joyful way because there is no sacrifice involved. You’re no longer attached to it. Instead you can experience the joy of learning how to follow the energy of the universe. Money is just an extra bonus in the process.

You know that the money is not really yours – it belongs to the universe. You are like a caretaker or steward for the money. You use it only as you are directed by the universe through your own intuition. There is no fear of loss because you know you are always taken care of. The money may come or go, but you can’t lose the joy and fulfillment in your life. When you feel this secure and free, you attract more and more money, so that you are continually pushed to deepen your trust at more intense levels with higher stakes.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, December 3rd, 2010 by Tara Singh in NOTHING REAL CAN BE THREATENED

“Truth is accessible where there is attention. Attention is absolutely essential. When thought interferes, we begin to doubt and problems begin. Doubt brings confusion, lack of direction, and fear. It isolates us and we forget who we are. Then we think we are bodies and the external world of fear, selfishness, and insecurity becomes very real to us.

The origin of the world we see – a world that is brutal, tyrannical, and devoid of love – is doubt. If we had trust, there would be no such problem at all. But trust is a difficult thing. Can we see, then, that the issue is a matter of choice between trust and doubt? It can be that simple. And you and I must make the decision in our lives to be with doubt or with trust.

If you are with trust, the illusions of doubt no longer have sway over you. If you are with doubt, that is your reality and you will settle for belief in flags, nationalities, and religious dogmas. For the person who chooses doubt, fear becomes the basis of his life.”

“If you love yourself for who you are, you are living in present time which is the gateway to personal power. If you love only who you will be, then you are out of your body, living in a future you cannot affect (until it becomes present time and you can act). Look at who you are, compare it to who you want to be, and ask yourself why they do not match. Ask, “Is what I want to be really appropriate to who I am, or is it something I was told I should be?”

The more you can clear yourself of other peoples’ programs, expectations, and pictures of you, the more powerful you will become. Many of those future pictures involve meeting unrealistic or inappropriate standards given to you by others. Many of those ideals represent beliefs of others that you try to fit onto yourself. Look clearly at your expectations of yourself, especially those you constantly fail to meet. They can be indicators of areas in which who you want to be is not fitting with your true needs. The pain you feel at the difference, the feelings of heaviness, fear or darkness only exist because you are trying to “wear” energy that does not belong to you.”

“What to do with change and losses…Practice allowing and transforming them. Remember that
healing and change happen in spirals and layers. See if you can open your heart and arms to whatever changes happen and losses occur. I sometimes tend to lay a template of the past onto the present and they feel upset when “Things are not the same.” Then I start comparing what used to be to what is not even known yet and forget to relax and just open myself to something different.

Life presents us with so many chances to practice, because it’s constantly changing. The opposite of loss is not gain it is…found.

What can you find within your losses? I recommend looking for the gifts first. They might not appear immediately. I’m often convinced that this time they’re just…Not there. This occurs to me in my mind. I’ve learned that my mind is an unreliable guide – by itself. It makes up stories and repeats fears and resistances. I’m practicing allowing my mind to have some initial input, and then following my body and emotions to decide what I actually do, or don’t do.”

“When you expect something, it is on the way. When you believe something, it is on the way. When you fear something, it is on the way.

Your attitude or mood is always pointing toward what is coming, but you are never stuck with your current point of attraction. Just because you have picked up these thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and moods along your physical trail does not mean that you have to continue attracting in response to them. You have creative control of your own experience. And, by paying attention to your own Emotional Guidance System, you can change your point of attraction.

If there are things in your experience that you no longer wish to experience, your belief must change. If there are things that are not in your experience that you want to bring into your experience, your belief must change. There is no condition so severe that you cannot reverse it by choosing different thoughts. However, choosing different thoughts requires focus and practice. If you continue to focus as you have been, to think as you have been, and to believe as you have been, then nothing in your experience will change.”

“Here is a practice you might try. Close your eyes and feel an issue in your life that is upsetting to you, something that brings up strong feelings of frustration. It can be something close to you, in your household or your workplace, or it can be a conflict on a more global scale. Now imagine yourself in the place of each of the characters involved. If the situation involves several people with a variety of viewpoints, place yourself in the position of caring for each of them and respecting their viewpoints one at a time. Let go of your judgments of right and wrong, and allow yourself to feel through that individual’s eyes.

If the issue involves several groups of people with different perspectives, choose one person who represents each group, and stand in that person’s shoes, see the situation through that person’s eyes, and feel your heart care about that person’s experience of things. Do this exercise with each person or group involved in the conflict until you are able to see the issue from each of the different perspectives.

“Words are like a living clay with which we shape our relationships. Wise speech can built trust; unkind speech can cause enduring damage. In our electronic age, words travel faster than ever before. Email messages are often written so quickly and risk being misunderstood and misinterpreted. To avoid confusion, come companies now require employees to communicate by phone or in person. Technology is complicating our effective use of language itself, and already complex system. A greater awareness of how to use words with skill and kindness is more important than ever. Where do we begin?

According to the Buddha, a statement is only proper and kind when, “It is spoken at the right time. It is spoken in truth. It is spoken affectionately. It is spoken beneficially. It is spoken with a mind of goodwill.” A statement containing these five elements exemplifies kind speech.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, November 25th, 2010 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED

“…a person who does harm to another is simply doing what they know how to do at the time given the level of their awareness of spiritual principles, nothing more, nothing less. While it can be difficult to adopt this perspective when an individual does something that is really mean or hurtful, if you got down to the heart of the matter, you would find they were merely doing the best they could in that moment to deal with their own life’s issues and fears.

Think about it for a moment, and you realize that it is true; people (including you) are generally so focused on themselves and their own personal drama that they tend to be oblivious to what anyone else is going through at the time. That’s why it is important for you not to take things personally, for people will be what people will be, and the underlying cause of their behavior actually has nothing to do with you. In that regard, consider this passage from a marvelous book called The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz:

Personal importance, or taking things personally, is the maximum expression of selfishness because we make the assumption that everything is about “me.” Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves. All people live in their own dream, in their own mind; they are in a completely different world than the one we live in. When we take something personally, we make the assumption that they know what is in our world, and we try to impose our world on their world. Even when a situation seems so personal, even if others insult you directly, it has nothing to do with you.

When you can truly embrace this perspective, you will come to understand exactly what Jesus meant by “they know not what they do,” and you’ll also put yourself in a position where no one can ever really hurt you again.”

“…More often than not diagnosis is the “kiss of death,” bestowed by a so-called medical authority, that negates our justified belief in our natural ability to heal ourselves. According to some statistics, medical diagnosis is off the mark more than ninety percent of the time—in many thousands of cases resulting in unnecessary, doctor-induced fatalities. That said, of course there are instances when allopathic medicine is entirely appropriate. We would not want carpenters setting broken bones or electricians performing emergency brain surgery.

But with many, even most conditions, diagnosis is useless mental baggage of a negatively oriented nature that, if our interest truly is in healing, we would do well to jettison in favor of a medical model that focuses positively on the ever-present possibility of sustained well-being.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010 by Wayne W. Dyer, in THERE’S A SPIRITUAL SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM

“In the material world we often find ourselves in conflict because of our opinions about right and wrong. When we negotiate for peace, we generally see one side as wrong and the other as right. This is true in conflicts between nations, communities, families, and in your personal relationships too. You cannot bring spiritual harmony into a problem resolution as long as you accept the idea that one side is right and the other is wrong. In the world of spirit there is no right side and wrong side. There is only a field of infinite harmony that we are calling spiritual.

As the scriptures say, “There is but one good, the Father in Heaven.” Again, there exists but one power, not two. Letting go of judgments concerning matters of right versus wrong, and simply finding a way of bringing nonjudgmental harmony to a problem, eliminates the ego’s need to make someone wrong, which inevitably exacerbates the problem.”

“Once you fully understand the principle I here set down, then all My Message will become clear and comprehensible. I first give you the Key that will unlock every mystery that now hides from you the secret of My Being. This Key, when you know how to use it, will open the door to the Kingdom of Heaven, and then you have but to enter in to become consciously One with Me. The Key is:

“To THINK is to CREATE,” or
“As you THINK in your HEART, so it is with you.”

Stop and meditate on this that it may get firmly fixed in your mind.
A Thinker is a Creator.
A Thinker lives in a world of his own conscious creation.

When you once know how “to think,” you can create at will anything you wish, – whether it be a new personality, a new environment, or a new world.”

“According to the Law of Detachment, in order to manifest your dreams and desires, you must first relinquish your attachment to them. This does not mean that you lose your desire or your passion for them. Quite the contrary; you can be unequivocally clear with your intention, but still release your attachment to the result. This means letting go of the intense neediness, clinging, and obsessing about getting what you want when you want it.

When you set an intention fueled by passion and purpose, and yet are able to let go of attachment to the results, you can truly begin to change, grow, and develop into the person you wish to become, and acquire whatever things you wish to have. This concept is best demonstrated in nature. Everything in nature grows and develops in rhythm and harmony, synchronized with the seasons.”

“The foundation of happiness is mindfulness. The basic condition for being happy is our consciousness of being happy. If we are not aware that we are happy, we are not really happy. When we have a toothache, we know that not having a toothache is a wonderful thing. But when we do not have a toothache, we are still not happy. A non-toothache is very pleasant.

There are so many things that are enjoyable, but when we don’t practice mindfulness, we don’t appreciate them. When we practice mindfulness, we come to cherish these things and we learn how to protect them. By taking good care of the present moment, we take good care of the future. Working for peace in the future is to work for peace in the present moment.”
