BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, February 24th, 2020 by Richard & Mary Alice Jafolla in THE QUEST

“God’s power is within you, available at all times to help you and to bring more good into your life. It is the nature of God to create perfection and to continually make new. Once you accept this basic truth, be prepared for things to get better. It could be that all God wants from us is awareness of the Presence. This simple awareness opens the way for God to be active in our lives, and that means some major transformations are about to take place…

As vast and infinite as God is, this Spirit cares for you and responds to you in a personal way. The more you cooperate with It, the happier and easier your life will be. It is only natural for God to be personally and intimately involved in your life. Never for a moment forget that. You might be tempted to say, “That’s ridiculous. How could Something which holds the constellations in their patterns, turns the tides of the giant seas, and brings spring each year ever be concerned with little me?”

How could it not?”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, February 21st, 2020 by Stuart Wilde in THE LITTLE MONEY BIBLE

“If you don’t feel you are worthy or if, say, toxic shame was imposed upon you at a young age by your family, you may feel bad or worthless. So it may be hard for you to know you are worthy of love and appreciation. And in this case, you’d also have the tendency to give yourself away too cheaply. You become the suffering servant, abused and vilified no matter how sincere you are. It’s your shame coming back at you. It’s very subtle sometimes; shame is a rotten little critter that tries to eat your sandwiches when you are least aware.

Shamed individuals beg for approval by undervaluing themselves. No matter how good they are and how much they do, they will never feel worthwhile until they heal the shame…

Kick the shame and make yourself feel right, no matter what; otherwise, that pesky critter nibbles on your leg, costing you money all the way. Don’t undervalue yourself to win acceptance. Remember, there’s no shortage of money, and it’s fair and reasonable to charge for your energy and your time; it’s the way you endorse yourself.”

“As infants, we functioned mostly on an intuitive basis. Our rational society discouraged the use of this mechanism, so as we advanced in age, we were encouraged to disregard use of our intuition and to replace it with reliance on our conscious mind control. The result is the replacement of Infinite Intelligence with our limited, conscious mind intelligence.

Mastery of the intuitive experience, as with mastery of anything, requires first of all, the clear intention to master it. In order to come to that conclusion, we must first give up the belief that rational thinking is superior to intuition. Next, we must practice using our intuition. It is a very personal experience. We have to learn what it feels like, listen for it, and use it continuously.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, February 19th, 2020 by Sonia Choquette in TRUE BALANCE

“If you want to use your imagination to create a new job, start by imagining the desired job through each sense, one at a time. Begin with what your ideal job sounds like. What sounds would be present at your workplace? Try voicing out loud the kinds of conversations you would have with colleagues. What clothes would you wear? Then move on to your work environment. If, for example, you want to be a writer, would you use a computer or a pen? Would you sit a desk or work at a table? What hours would you work?

Then ask yourself how the environment would smell. For instance, if your ideal job is in an office, you might want to imagine a flower stall nearby, supplying you with a steady supply of flowers for your desk. Perhaps there are windows that open to the greenery outside. You can even try imagining how your desired work atmosphere would taste. Perhaps you’ll have a freshly brewed cup of coffee from the office lunchroom or eat sushi from a nearby Japanese restaurant. Remember, imagination is a muscle that needs to be exercised, and these sorts of musings are how we strengthen it.”

“It is surprising how easy it is to become so self-involved and so wrapped-up in negativity. Negativity is insidious and contagious. It takes strong defenses to not succumb to the negativity of others, but you must resist the urge to join-in if you expect to protect your health and well-being. This understanding is the first step to healing. Understanding that illness is not something which attacks you, but something invited by you in order to shift your focus, is an essential step in removing yourself from the victim role. This is the first step to healing.”

“God helps those who help themselves. If you are not manifesting creativity and abundance in your work, relationships, and finances, take a look at the practical side of things. It is one thing to plant seeds, another to follow through with the watering and the weeding. God creates the miracle of growth through which the seed manifests its full potential as a flower, but we need to cooperate in the gardening.

Do you need to train for a different job? Are you practicing generosity of spirit in the workplace? Is your workplace dysfunctional? If so, do you need to move on, or can you help facilitate positive change?”

“Krishnamurti once said, “The moment you follow someone you cease to follow Truth.” I don’t believe in any organized religion or movement, only in the truth. Krishnamurti once told a story of how the devil and a friend of his were walking down the street one day when they saw a man ahead of them stoop down, pick something up from the ground, look at it, and put it away in his pocket. The friend said to the devil, “What did that man pick up?” “He picked up a piece of the truth,” said the devil. “That is a very bad business for you, then,” said the friend. “Oh, not at all,” the devil replied, “I’m going to help him organize it.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Thursday, February 13th, 2020 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED

“According to Conversations with God, Book 1:

“You will not have that for which you ask, nor can you have anything you want. This is because your very request is a statement of lack, and your saying you want a thing only works to produce that precise experience – wanting – in your reality. The correct prayer is therefore never a prayer of supplication, but a prayer of gratitude.”

Now, read the above passage again slowly and let it sink in for a bit…

Did the thought cross your mind that being grateful for what has yet to manifest itself in your life appears to be somewhat backward? It really is quite reasonable, however, when you stop to realize that the Scriptures of essentially all major religions are very clear about the creative power of human thought. For example, remember the oft-quoted Bible verse that says, “For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

If you take this statement literally, the statement is promising you that when you really want something, your thoughts (and feelings) are actually focused on the wanting and not the having. The only result, therefore, can be that you stay in a wanting state, which in effect serves to keep away that which you wish to experience. On the contrary, if you adopt the practice of being grateful in advance of having a particular desire fulfilled, you are essentially affirming the inevitability of its fulfillment.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 by Gloria Wendroff in HEAVENLETTERS

“There is no difference between God in Heaven and God on earth. I am the same God. I am One. I do not make flagrant distinctions. I do not go by whim. I am ever the same. I have no mood swings. I do not pick and choose. I love. I love all.

I do not have a temperament. I do not get angry. I do not wreak vengeance. I love. I love all. You were made in my image. I was not made in yours. I am God, and you are learning to see as I see, from a far vaster perspective. Come join Me in this high limb of a tree I sit in.

As a Human Being on earth, you are learning your divinity. The circumstances in your life in the world predicate that you learn your true nature and recognize your divinity and begin to express it. You are certainly not here to learn Human frailty.”

“Let things you have asked for unfold for you. You have already created them with your desire and ensured their arrival with your belief; you need only allow what comes naturally without resisting. Most people get into trouble here because they ask for something and then assume that they know how the Universe goes about creating such things. When things happen that they wouldn’t have expected to be part of the plan, they lose faith in the process. As belief dies, so does the realization of our desires. God works in mysterious ways; you simply have to get out of the way.”

“I suspect that the most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention. And especially if it’s given from the heart. When people are talking, there’s no need to do anything but receive them. Just take them in. Listen to what they’re saying. Care about it. Most times caring about it is more important than understanding it. Most of us don’t value ourselves or our love enough to know this. It has taken me a long time to believe in the power of simply saying, “I’m so sorry,” when someone is in pain. And meaning it.”

“Appreciate the beauty in your body and in yourself, today. Focus on what you do like about yourself. The more willing you are to do this, the easier it will become. Your body will respond to this appreciation and grow increasingly beautiful.

It’s become a habit to see what needs to be changed about ourselves. We’re waiting for perfection before we’ll love ourselves completely. You can change these self-critical tapes by looking at what you like about yourself and giving yourself positive feedback.

If you have trouble appreciating yourself, start by looking at others who have the same qualities you have and admire them.”

“Remember…your fellow travelers on life’s road are confused, as you are, by the events which occur in human life; they are confused by emotions and desires which they do not understand. Every soul is striving, even as you are; so train yourself to look beneath the surface of things, and you will find something true…buried, perhaps deeply, but it is there for you to find if you seek. If you remember this it will help you to remain tranquil, loving and kind.”

“This is most people’s reality: As soon as something is perceived, it is named, interpreted, compared with something else, liked, disliked, or called good or bad by the phantom self, the ego. They are imprisoned in thought forms, in object consciousness.

You do not awaken spiritually until the compulsive and unconscious naming ceases, or at least until you become aware of it and thus are able to observe it as it happens. It is through this constant naming that the ego remains in place as the unobserved mind. Whenever it ceases and even when you just become aware of it, there is inner space, and you are not possessed by the mind anymore.”

“Our knowledge is not complete, so it is not reliable. When we place our faith in the unreliable, we train ourselves to be faithless. We come to believe, in fact, that failure and disappointment are natural parts of our existence, so we accept them and then we expect them to show up in our lives. We cannot always make our desires real with sheer force and effort, so we lose the ability to believe in those desires. It is our desires that comprise our prayers; and a belief in prayer is the only way to make prayer work effectively. You must believe in your desires in order to achieve them. To do this, you must turn to methods that allow you to believe in the reality that you wish to create. You must believe.”
