PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 by Jeff Maziarek in SPIRITUALITY SIMPLIFIED”

“As this passage from Conversations with God, Book 1 relates, it is especially important that we not use the words “I AM” in front of anything that we don’t want to experience:

“I AM is the strongest creative statement in the Universe. Whatever you think, whatever you say, after the words “I AM” sets into motion those experiences, calls them forth, brings them to you. There is no other way the Universe knows how to work. There is no other route it knows to take. The Universe responds to “I AM” as would a genie in a bottle”

This is a very powerful admonition, for when you stop to reflect on it for a moment, you realize that in normal day-to-day speech it is quite common for all of us to use “I AM” in some very negative ways. For example, how many times have you heard someone say, “I am depressed, or I am angry, or I am just a klutz,” or something similar?

If you are a typical person, it is likely that you’ve heard or said these types of statements perhaps hundreds of times. In my own case, I commonly used such declarations throughout much of my life until I read Conversations with God, Book 1 and came across that passage. Since that discovery, I have become far more judicious about how I use the “I AM” statement in my daily self-talk, and in my conversations with others as well.”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 by Misa Hopkins in THE ROOT OF ALL HEALING

“Mother Earth, by her very nature, through her rhythms, teaches you how to live in more harmonious ways. Being in nature helps you put your life into perspective so you can experience a softer, gentler view toward yourself and others. Notice how problems seem more manageable after you take a good walk, hike or run outdoors. Your endorphins are up, hopefully you have been breathing good air, and you have been allowing yourself to receive nourishment from the beauty of the outdoors.

A walk through a rose garden can lift your spirits within minutes as you enjoy the intoxicating scent of the flowers. Take a cup of tea outside and let the breeze tickle your hair. Notice how quickly you rest into the moment when you leave your demanding world for even a few minutes and breathe with nature. After being in nature you may find yourself in a marvelous state of being that is simultaneously relaxed and energized, and therefore, in a much better frame of mind to address the daily challenges to find harmonious solutions.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, November 30th, 2009 by Will Murtha in DYING FOR A CHANGE

Will Murtha: When I haul myself out of bed every day, I see the whole process of life as one big fight. In my present sales environment, I either get there first for the order, or I miss out and lose. We all have to fight for what we have achieved. We must all struggle for what we have. That’s what life is about, isn’t it? Fighting for what you believe. Fighting for what you want.

Voice of Higher Presence: What if I told you that fighting for everything isn’t necessary? There is always enough in the world. There are always enough sales orders, food, housing and clothing. There’s an abundance of water, shelter, love and compassion. The question is never about whether there is enough. It is about whether people want to share what they hoard. Please do not make the mistake of believing that life should be one constant fight and battle from birth till death. When life is approached in that way, it will be empty of the joy you are so desperately seeking in the world. And, please, do not confuse passion with fighting. They are direct opposites. One leads you to disconnect from both your heartfelt dreams and other people. The other leads you, wonderfully, to a place of fulfillment. A place where you discover what it means to truly be a human being. Passion leads to freedom. Fighting leaves you imprisoned.”

“While each thought is a prayer of sorts, and will be acted on in some way; we can effectively manage our energy and direct more of it in the direction of those thoughts that would bring the most beneficial effects into our lives. If we are thinking anyway, why not think creatively instead of destructively. Even when negative thoughts arise, there is no reason that we must focus on them. If we simply let them go, they will be replaced with new thoughts. If we focus our energies on positive thoughts, they will ultimately become our dominate thought patterns. If we achieve a state where the only thoughts we ever experienced were positive, or good, thoughts, then these are the things we will find filling our lives.”

“Why can’t we accept the fact that positive living is the natural way of life? For one thing, orthodox religion has told us something different, which means that we may have to do some deprogramming on ourselves. We have to move past the false teachings that tell us we’re a race of damned and doomed cosmic misfits who played with a garden snake, then learned a thousand years later that the only antidote, the only salvation, was a vicarious blood sacrifice. That notion didn’t come from Jesus.”

PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in REAL MAGIC

Study the paradox, “You can never get enough of what you don’t want.” Keep this paradoxical statement uppermost in your mind as you prepare yourself to experience the miracles of real magic…The answer to getting to the point of not craving what is poison to us is to understand what we mean by a want.

There is an ancient Zen saying that goes like this: “When you seek it, you cannot find it.” That which you crave sends an unwritten, unspoken, but nevertheless real message to you, something like: “I am incomplete without that which I crave. If I get it, I will be more whole, more complete.” But this incompleteness is an illusion. Since you already are it all, you truly do not need anything else to complete yourself. When you truly know this, your wants disappear and you are able to do nicely without that which you don’t want but mysteriously keep craving. This is not to say that you will simply be like a mindless feather blowing haphazardly in the wind without any direction. However, you will be free from the insanity of vigorously pursuing that which you don’t want and which is, in some way, damaging you.”

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, in “Real Magic”

“Society teaches us that time occurs three stages: the past, the present, and the future.  In fact, there is only one time that is real – the present. The past is gone, it no longer exists. The future is yet to occur. Only the present moment ever really exists. What we believe at any given time creates our experience at that moment.

Learning to be totally in the present is a skill that requires constant practice. We must continually remind ourselves that whatever we are presently experiencing is unique. It never happened before. It will never happen again. We are free to see it differently than we ever saw it before.”

PONDER on THIS for Monday, November 23rd, 2009 by Neale Donald Walsch in CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD, BOOK 3

“All of your life you have been told that God created you. I come now to tell you this: You are creating God. That is a massive rearrangement of your understanding. I know. And yet it is a necessary one if you are to go about the true work for which you came. This is holy work We are up to you and I. This is sacred ground We walk. This is The Path.

In every moment God expresses Himself in, as, and through you. You are always at choice as to how God will be created now, and She will never take that choice from you, nor will She punish you for making the “wrong” choice. Yet you are not without guidance in these matters, nor will you ever be. Built into you is an internal guidance system that shows you the way home. This is the voice that speaks to you always of your highest choice, that places before you your grandest vision. All you need do is heed that voice, and not abandon the vision.”

PONDER on THIS for Friday, November 20th, 2009 by Pete Koerner in THE BELIEF FORMULA

“Joseph Murphy and Ian McMahan, in The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, describe several additional methods of “affirmative prayer.” Among these methods is what is referred to as the “passing-over technique,” in which you simply assign your desire to your subconscious mind. This method is very effective and can be used to achieve anything you can imagine.

The passing-over technique works in the same way as when you tell yourself what time you would like to wake-up in the morning, and you do – without an alarm clock. Likewise, this phenomenon is the reason so many people, before going to sleep, write down questions they would like answers to and keep a pad by the bedside for when they wake-up with the answer. Use it. Experiment with it. Play with it. Ask for whatever you want, but be sure you truly want what you ask for before you ask.”

“What is required to feel good about the self is not the same from person to person. What you require for self-esteem is not necessarily what another person requires. It is important to discover what makes you feel worthy, confident and happy about who you are.

Self-respect at the highest levels comes from honoring your soul. This means speaking and acting from a level of integrity and honesty that reflects your higher self. It means standing by what you believe in (you don’t, however, have to convince others to believe in it), and acting in a way that reflects your values. Many of you criticize others for not living up to a value system you consider right, but on closer examination you may not be living up to it yourself. You have seen the person who is always telling everyone how they should act but he himself does anything he pleases. Self-respect means acting out your values and what you say you believe in.”

“As an affirmation that you will listen to your heart, in the sense of the promptings of Spirit, try this: Place your finger on your pulse several times a day, and as you heart your heart beating, pause to think about the spaces between the beats. Focus on them. The pauses are what death sounds like. The sound of the beat is what life sounds like to us humans. In taking a moment to listen to your heart, you are affirming that you will listen and act on its promptings. It’s cool that we even have a heart. Try to love it.”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, November 17th, 2009 by William Murtha in DYING FOR A CHANGE

“Please do not cast blame on yourself…To heap regret and recrimination on yourself misses the entire point of what it means to be human. We all fail at one time or another. We all fall short of our own teachings and beliefs. We all make mistakes. That is because we are all human. Know that you are normal to fall short of your own grand vision, and you will inherit a valuable life lesson. That’s what life is for. It creates a framework for us so that we can learn from our mistakes. Of course, there are no mistakes if we use these experiences wisely.

Every mistake carries within it the seed of true wisdom. The mistake is that you give yourself a hard time over it. The mistake is that you don’t learn from your mistakes. The mistake is that you let fear stop you from trying to be more. If you do not fail, then you have not tried.”

“Reflect what you want reflected back. Do unto others. Only by changing your own fear into love can this occur. Only if you know beyond a doubt that death is not the end can you transcend this fear, this greed, this clinging to material things. The great mythographer, the late Joseph Campbell, said the most important teaching of Christianity is to love your neighbor. Most of us find this little pill a little hard to swallow sometimes…The Second Coming is not the arrival that fundamentalist and traditional religions are awaiting. Christ consciousness is available to everyone now. It is a resurrection in the heart, not on the cross. And the transition has been made easier in this era. For the first time in many millennia, we do not have to die first before we can move to a higher dimension, if we just ask the spiritual world for help.

Once upon a time, I was too educated, too “intellectual,” too “rational” to ask or to believe. Not once, but several times, I was brought to my knees and my childhood faith helped me to learn to believe differently. No I am fortunate enough to see with my eyes that the help is indeed here. Feeling worthy of it is the final crossing.”

“Effective prayer begins with mindfulness and awareness that each word was first a thought and each thought is essentially a prayer. With this awareness, and the further understanding that we exist within that which always tries to accommodate us and answer our prayers, we would see how counterproductive entertaining a negative thought for even a moment can be. This is what is meant by the saying, “You can’t afford the luxury of a negative thought.”

“When you recognize that your spirit is withering, stop and do whatever it takes to renew yourself. Get outdoors. Take your best friend to dinner at your favorite restaurant. Walk on the beach and drink in the magic moment when the sun kisses the ocean. Get a deep full-body massage with sensual aromatic oil. Rent your favorite movies, pop a huge vat of popcorn, and have your own film festival for a weekend. Plan or take the vacation you’ve been putting off. Marvel at your own shadow under the full moon. Anything you do to feel better will shift everything else you do. As Ally McBeal noted, “When I eat Jello I feel better. Don’t ask me to reduce it to a science.”
