PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, July 29th, 2014 by Donald Altman in THE MINDFULNESS CODE

“Being judgmental is not the same as being discriminating and discerning and not the same as evaluating and analyzing in order to arrive at a decision or to make comparisons. A judgmental mind can be a dangerous thing. It gets stuck in a personal and limited perspective of I-me-mine. Holding people to black-and-white standards leaves little allowance for the quirks that make us who we are. In contrast, a joyful and compassionate mind invites hope and makes life bearable. An innate joy that lives in all of us wants to break out of its seed of separateness and aloneness. The joyful mind is not obsessed with winning or needing to be right. It is more interested in sharing joy and being connected. The compassionate mind reaps joy by giving and spreading joy, even in unlikely and unexpected places.”

Donald Altman, in “The Mindfulness Code”

“Separation creates judgment. You are either a Yankee or a Rebel; you MUST choose one side or the other. These are the rules of separation. However, when you honor one another, you truly understand that these are only choices. Imagine how quickly the world would change if others honored and supported you for the choices you have made. Imagine the blessing you would give others if you honored and supported the choices THEY have made. Yours is a world of choice. Honor your creation, for it is your world. It is the world you have created – and your world can change in a heartbeat when you recognize the perfection within others and honor them for their journey.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, July 25th, 2014 by Wayne W. Dyer in THERE’S A SPIRITUAL SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM

“Harboring anger and hatred toward anyone guarantees that YOU remain in low energy fields where problems will continue to crop up repeatedly in your life. I suggest that you examine every relationship in which you feel judgmental thoughts of anger and hatred. Replace those thoughts with energies of acceptance, kindness, cheerfulness, and love. You will have to make a personal commitment to, first of all, notice what you are feeling and then exercise your ability to choose to send love.

When your heart becomes pure, your enemy becomes your friend, or even more significantly, your teacher. Your worst enemies are your greatest teachers because they allow you to examine the emotions of anger and revenge and then to transcend them. They give you the exact tools you need to elevate yourself to the spiritual energies that provide your solution.

Wayne W. Dyer, in “There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 24th, 2014 by Don Miguel and Don Jose Ruiz in THE FIFTH AGREEMENT

“You were programmed to deliver a message, and the creation of that message is your greatest art. What is the message? Your life. With that message you create mainly the story of you, and then a story about everything you perceive. You create an entire virtual reality in your mind, and you live in that reality. When you think, you’re thinking in your language; you’re repeating in your mind all those symbols that mean something to you. You’re giving yourself a message, and that message is the truth for you because you believe that it’s the truth.

The story of you is everything that you know about you, and when I say this, I’m talking to you, knowledge, what you believe you are, not to you, the human, what you really are. As you can see, I make a distinction between you and you because one of you is real, and one of you is not real. You, the physical human, are real; you are the truth. You, knowledge – you’re not real; you’re virtual. You only exist because of the agreements you made with yourself and with the other humans around you. You, knowledge, come from the symbols you hear in your head, from all the opinions of the people you love, the people you don’t love, the people you know, and mostly the people you’ll never know.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014 by Stuart Wilde in WHISPERING WINDS OF CHANGE

“If you’re surrounded by a bunch of incredibly negative, rather grim people, sometimes called relatives, or perhaps friends or co-workers, whatever – rather than fighting that ugliness around you and seeing it as misfortune, LOVE IT.

Look at the people, look at your job, your circumstances, the family, your home, and say – Thank you God, thank you for sending me these teachers. They are driving me crackers, yet what they’re teaching me is not to react. They strengthen me by teaching me to transmute negative energy into positive energy. Using these people, I will convert irritation, hatred, and reaction into at least a neutral energy of passivity, or if possible, love.”

“To befriend and cultivate your intuition, treat those inner proddings that crop up in your mind as welcome guests instead of labeling them as nothing but random hunches. Try stopping yourself during your next intuitive episode, whatever it is about, and make a mental note of what is taking place. Now, instead of ignoring it, or pushing it out, ask that intuitive part of yourself, “Why am I being pushed by my mind in this direction?” Develop a dialogue with that intuitive voice and simply note what you learn or what happens in the next few days as a result. By learning to have internal dialogues you will begin trusting your intuition and ultimately discover its loving presence and valuable contribution to your mind.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, July 21st, 2014 by John Van Auken in BORN AGAIN AND AGAIN

“We need to keep a very special tool with us throughout the journey – PATIENCE. Without it I don’t think any of us can make it. With patience we can continue to live in the physical world while becoming more and more alive to the spiritual one. Keep a sense of humor too. I’ve noticed that we have a tendency to become too serious about spiritual things. Not all of physical life is evil or mundane, and not all of the resurrection is bearing a cross.

When things have become too much for you, lighten the demands you’re placing on yourself. Balance out your life between heavy and light, serious and funny, work and play, purposefulness and nonsense. Take a long slow walk with a child or learn a new song to sing in the shower or a new joke to share with some friends.

Another old saying that has helped me with patience and staying relaxed yet focused on what I knew must be done is, “Be content, but never satisfied.” There’s a certain energy to contentment that is needed if we are to succeed without wasting ourselves, whereas satisfaction implies an acceptance of what is. We need to keep reaching beyond our present levels if we are to regain our greater state, but do so with a patient, contented energy.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, July 18th, 2014 by Deepak Chopra in AGELESS BODY, TIMELESS MIND

“Someone who experiences time as a scarce commodity that is constantly slipping away is creating a completely different personal reality from someone who perceives that he has all the time in the world. Is your day full of time pressure? Do you suffer the breathless, panicky symptoms of “time sickness,” which the body translates into rapid or irregular heartbeats, distorted digestive rhythms, insomnia, and high blood pressure? These individual differences express how we perceive change, for the perception of change creates our experience of time.

When your attention is in the past or the future, you are in the field of time, creating aging. One Indian master who seemed remarkably young for his age explained this by saying, “Most people spend their lives either in the past or the future, but my life is supremely concentrated in the present.” When a life is concentrated in the present, it is most real, because the past and the future are not impinging upon it. At this instant, where are the past and the future? Nowhere. Only the present moment exists; past and future are mental projections. If you can free yourself of these projections, trying neither to relive the past nor to control the future, a space is opened for a completely new experience – the experience of ageless body and timeless mind.”

Deepak Chopra, in “Ageless Body, Timeless Mind”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 17th, 2014 by Eckhart Tolle in A NEW EARTH

“If in the midst of negativity you are able to realize “At this moment I am creating suffering for myself” it will be enough to raise you above the limitations of conditioned egoic states and reactions. It will open up infinite possibilities which come to you when there is awareness – other vastly more intelligent ways of dealing with any situation. You will be free to let go of your unhappiness the moment you recognize it as unintelligent. Negativity is not intelligent. It is always of the ego.

The ego may be clever, but it is not intelligent. Cleverness pursues its own little aims. Intelligence sees the larger whole in which all things are connected. Cleverness is motivated by self-interest, and it is extremely short-sighted. Most politicians and businesspeople are clever. Very few are intelligent. Whatever is attained through cleverness is short-lived and always turns out to be eventually self-defeating. Cleverness divides; intelligence includes.”

“We are so mechanical, so controlled. We write books about being controlled and how wonderful it is to be controlled and how necessary it is that people tell you you’re O.K. Then you’ll have a good feeling about yourself. How wonderful it is to be in prison! Or, as somebody said to me yesterday, “to be in your cage.”

Do you like being in prison? Do you like being controlled? Let me tell you something: If you ever let yourself feel good when people tell you that you’re O.K., you are preparing yourself to feel bad when they tell you you’re not good. As long as you live to fulfill other peoples’ expectations, you better watch what you wear, how you comb your hair, whether your shoes are polished – in short, whether you live up to every damned expectation of theirs. Do you call that human?”

PONDER on THIS for Tuesday, July 15th, 2014 by Eliza Mada Dalian in IN SEARCH OF THE MIRACULOUS

“Each time a thought comes into your consciousness, look at it with a welcoming attitude, accept it, and let it go. Don’t judge or analyze the thought, just accept it and let it go. When you try to analyze or judge thoughts as good or bad, you fuel them with your energy and, therefore, have a harder time letting them go. As you go on accepting your thoughts, remind yourself that you are not the thoughts but are the witnessing awareness that observes them. If you continue watching all your thoughts with acceptance, you will be free of their influences and they will no longer disturb you. With each practice of acceptance and letting go, you’ll see that although thoughts always come and go, you inner silence always remains unchanged. From emptiness thoughts come and into emptiness they go. So say “hello” when you see them, and “good-bye” as you let them go.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Monday, July 14th, 2014 by Neale Donald Walsch in CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD BOOK 3

“Keep in mind that what you are looking at, you are not really “seeing.” Your brain is not the source of your intelligence. It is simply a data processor. It takes in data through receptors called your senses. It interprets this energy in formation according to its previous data on the subject. It tells you what it perceives, not what really is.  Based on these perceptions, you think you know the truth about something, when, actually, you do not know the half of it. In reality, you are creating the truth that YOU know.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Friday, July 11th, 2014 by Lynn Grabhorn in EXCUSE ME, YOUR LIFE IS WAITING

“It’s hard for us to swallow the concept that what has been in life has absolutely nothing to do with what can be. That’s diametrically opposed to how we think things work. Yet what has been – or whatever is in our face right this minute – is simply the result of how we’ve flowed our energies in days gone by. It is not “the way things are.”

What has been is not a result of anything or anybody “out there,” nor is it a result of good or bad luck, a result of being a good person, a righteous person, or a sanctimonious ass. What has been has nothing to do with family, or government, or schooling. What has been in our life comes squarely from where our focus has been. And a major part of our focus, has come from antiquated beliefs, those smelly old philosophies that were pounded into our heads, or that we blindly accepted as reality from way back to toddler days. We were jammed full of them then and still are – archaic patterns of thought about what we think reality is, thought patterns that frankly belong in the garbage can.”

PONDER on THIS for Thursday, July 10th, 2014 by Rhonda Byrne in THE SECRET

“The Universe is the Universal supply and supplier of everything. Everything comes from the Universe, and is delivered to you through people, circumstances, and events, by the law of attraction. Think of the law of attraction as the law of supply. It is the law that enables you to draw from the infinite supply. When you emit the perfect frequency of what you want, the perfect people, circumstances, and events will be attracted to you and delivered!

It is not people who are giving you the things you desire. If you hold that false belief, you will experience lack, because you are looking at the outside world and people as the supply. The true supply is the invisible field, whether you call that the Universe, Supreme Mind, God, Infinite Intelligence, or whatever else. Whenever you receive anything, remember that you attracted it to you by the law of attraction, and being on the frequency and in harmony with the Universal Supply. The Universal Intelligence which pervades everything moved people, circumstances, and events to give that thing to you, because that is the law.”

BEST of PONDER on THIS for Wednesday, July 9th 2014 by Stuart Wilde in INFINITE SELF

“Detachment isn’t callousness. It’s not that you’re going to say, “Hey, I don’t give a damn about these people.” It’s just that you have to understand that their evolution is important; it’s sacrosanct. Just because a person is in the gutter drunk doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t be there. One would hope better things for him, but maybe he has to fall to a very low level in order to pick himself up. Maybe he doesn’t want to work himself back up again. Maybe he has a metaphysical need to experience what it feels like to do nothing and degenerate.

So when you see people “doing pain,” as I call it, you have to accept that we don’t really understand it. So if five people whack a tree, you can get sucked into the energy of it all, or you can say, “Interesting evolutionary experience,” remembering they are immortal and not dead.

So when you look at people, you have to look at them from that kind of compassion – from the more distant understanding that we cannot know precisely what people need, metaphysically and spiritually. We don’t necessarily understand why things are they way they are. So we”ll do our best to spread goodness. But what we won’t do is infringe upon people. We won’t try to pick them up and fix them if they haven’t asked us to.”
